Tang Yan almost choked on his drink.
"Are you okay?" Qi Yue quickly propped herself up and asked.
The man looked at her with a smile and shook his head.
"I’m not an angel, but I’m not a birdman either."
"Pfft..." Qi Yue was amused by his humor and laughed.
"You want to be a birdman, but you don’t have wings," she said with a smile.
"Hmm. It seems you’re doing pretty well, still able to joke around. I thought you’d be scared silly. But treating your savior like this is a bit impolite, you know!"
The man said with a playful seriousness, his eyes, clear and bright, fixed on hers.
Qi Yue was montarily stunned.
In an instant, she recalled everything that had happened before.
Her expression changed.
She was too starstruck; seeing a handso guy made her forget everything for a mont!
"That’s right..." Qi Yue looked at him with imnse gratitude: "You saved ! Thank you! Thank you so much!" She grasped his wrist excitedly.
Tang Yan lowered his head slightly, his gaze falling on his hand gripped by Qi Yue.
Qi Yue froze briefly, her cheeks reddening, and she quickly withdrew her hand.
Looking at her shy expression, Tang Yan pursed his lips: "It’s okay. It’s what a good person should do, helping others in distress." He said with all seriousness.
Qi Yue was amused by him once again.
"You’re really funny. May I ask, what is your na?"
The other party seed a bit hesitant.
She quickly corrected herself: "I just... I want to thank you for saving , but I don’t even know your na."
"Tang Yan. Tang from the Tang Dynasty, Yan as in inkstone."
Qi Yue exclaid in delight: "No wonder you have a scholarly aura about you. What a lovely na!"
Tang Yan smiled: "And you? What’s your na?"
"I..." Qi Yue lowered her head slightly: "My na is pretty ordinary... just Qi Yue..."
"July? That’s a unique na. Were you born in July?"
"Hmm, no... My dad said the moon was really round when I was born, and since my last na is Qi, he nad Qi Yue..."
Tang Yan nodded: "I see."
Seeing his sowhat disappointed expression, Qi Yue’s heart sank a little.
Qi Yue, you idiot, why didn’t you just say you were born in July and that’s why you’re called Qi Yue?
"Ah... you can call July too..."
"Hmm, it’s all July anyway."
"Yeah, Qi Yue and July!" Qi Yue chuckled.
"..."
Tang Yan smiled at her, and Qi Yue looked back at him.
For a mont, they were speechless.
Does this count as an awkward silence?
Qi Yue’s face darkened slightly.
Her gaze fell on the glass in Tang Yan’s hand: "Are you... drinking?" She vaguely caught a whiff of alcohol.
"Yeah, Whiskey, do you want so?" He offered her the glass.
Qi Yue, not wanting to disappoint him again, quickly accepted the glass.
"I didn’t expect you to be so bold." Tang Yan looked at her with a smile.
However, as she brought the glass to her lips, she rembered she couldn’t drink alcohol.
"What’s wrong? Don’t like the taste?"
"I..." Qi Yue bit her lower lip.
"I can’t drink alcohol."
Tang Yan looked at her curiously: "Allergic to alcohol?"
"No..."
He took the glass back and didn’t ask further.
Qi Yue ran a hand through her hair, and suddenly, her stomach let out a peculiar growl.
Tang Yan looked at her: "Are you hungry?"
