Shaochen was slightly taken aback upon hearing the voice.
Then he spoke, "I’m here to visit a friend."
Qi Yue was surprised upon hearing this.
A friend? Could it be... not Xiaonuan?
"If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way."
"Ah... alright." Qi Yue quickly waved and smiled, "Bye then..."
"Goodbye." Shaochen said with a smile, turned around, and walked away.
Qi Yue stood in place, watching the tall and handso figure leave.

When Qi Yue arrived at the ward door, it wasn’t closed but slightly ajar. Through the crack, she could see Xiaonuan sitting by the bedside, holding a parenting book and speaking enthusiastically.
Behind the book was an incredibly cute baby, smiling brightly.
Normally, Qi Yue would be excited to join in and look together.
But today, seeing the book in her hand made her feel a dull ache in her heart.
Qi Yue gently knocked on the door.
"Co in," Xia Xiaonuan said without looking up.
Qi Yue stepped forward, smiling and said, "Xiaonuan, you’re really working hard!"
Xia Xiaonuan looked up joyfully upon hearing the voice and, seeing it’s Qi Yue, couldn’t help but smile brightly.
"Ah, dear, you finally ca to see ! I actually have sothing to talk to you about," Xia Xiaonuan said with a smile.
Qi Yue handed over the flowers, "Here, wishing you and the baby health and speedy recovery."
Xia Xiaonuan accepted the flowers and said, "Thank you." Actually, the ward already had several bouquets of flowers, mostly sent by Yaoling’s friends after attending the party yesterday.
Nangong Yaoling knew she didn’t like too much noise, so he had people keep many of the visitors outside.
The table next to them was also piled high with fruits.
The air was filled with the scent of fruits and flowers, transforming the luxurious ward into a feeling more like an orchard or a garden.

She looked at Xia Xiaonuan, "Xiaonuan, thank you."

Qi Yue looked at Xia Xiaonuan. Though her spirit was decent, her complexion had been off recently.
She said with concern, "Xia Xiaonuan, your health isn’t great right now, why are you still doing all these things? You need to rest well, okay?"
"I was feeling bored."
