Nangong Yaoling was montarily stunned upon hearing the words, his face instantly turning extrely grim.

He stared at her with a complex and shocked gaze, a hint of pain even present within.

Xia Xiaonuan only then realized that she might have said sothing wrong in a mont of anger.

A trace of embarrassnt appeared on her delicate face, but she didn’t want to take back her words. She just bit her lower lip tightly, stubbornly glaring at him.

After a few seconds, Nangong Yaoling spoke.

"So, this is how you truly feel?"

All the tis she fetched dicine for him, cared about his leg, ca to the hospital to see him, stayed by his side.

All of it, just because she was worried about the Xia Family, afraid of being implicated herself?

He had foolishly prepared a banquet for her, given her the Tear of Diamond; even though he was in extre pain, he waited for her to see those flowers to give her a surprise.

He thought that, deep down, she cared for him as well.

At the very least, this woman wouldn’t be so cold on the inside, as she appeared to be on the outside!

But, now it seems...he was wrong!

He couldn’t help but reach out his hand, placing it over his heart.

There, it felt as though soone was using a sharp knife, cutting into him one slice at a ti.

The piercing pain surged through his entire body in an instant.

Nangong Yaoling had always been proud, but he had never felt as shattered and humiliated as he did today.

The man’s bright eyes dimd like falling fireworks in an instant.

His long lashes lowered, and in between his handso brows, there was a deep, hidden pain.

"Go." He spoke slowly after a few seconds.

His voice was still sowhat hoarse, yet his tone was very calm, as if there was no emotion, no anger, and certainly no rage.

But standing beside him, Xia Xiaonuan felt a chill creeping up her body, directly hitting her heart.

After finishing his words, Nangong Yaoling didn’t look at her again. Instead, he turned slightly.

As if he didn’t want to see her anymore.

The proud and tall figure of the man, dressed in hospital garb, curled up on the bed. But even so, he still exuded a nobility that ordinary people could not have.

Only at this mont, that figure seed incredibly desolate.

Xia Xiaonuan furrowed her brow slightly, suddenly wishing she could bite off her own tongue.

Oh my, what did she just say!

It seed, Nangong Yaoling had taken her angry words seriously, and was very upset!

No, not just upset. When Nangong Yaoling was angry, he was never like this—could it be...was he heartbroken?

She used to think that Nangong Yaoling was only montarily infatuated with her.

That he wouldn’t really take it to heart.

And maybe, after so ti, he would get bored.

But now in hindsight, could it be that she was wrong?

That he truly cared for her?

Xia Xiaonuan suddenly felt like a sinner.

Especially facing this man, admired by thousands, held in the palm of everyone’s, even the creator’s, hand—yet because of her, he was reduced to this state!

She had not intended to argue with him.

Xia Xiaonuan stood there, wanting to leave, but her feet felt as heavy as lead, rooted to the ground, unable to move.

Wanting to speak, but seeing that cold and resolute back, she didn’t know how to swallow her pride and speak out.

Ti passed, second by second.

Especially since Xia Xiaonuan almost believed that Nangong Yaoling had fallen asleep.

She cleared her throat awkwardly and coughed dryly.

"Then... I... I’ll go...You have a good rest, then..." Xia Xiaonuan said, turning away.

Even while she stepped away, there was no reaction from the person behind her.

Xia Xiaonuan reached out and patted her forehead.
