When Xia Xiaonuan woke up, it was already evening.
She got up, groggily took a bath, and when she ca out, Shaochen was sitting on the living room sofa tapping away at his notebook, his handso face staring at the screen with full concentration.
Wrapped in a towel, Xia Xiaonuan walked past him, initially intending not to disturb him. However, Shaochen heard the sound and looked up, fixing his gaze on her.
She smiled at him, "You’re busy." After saying that, she felt like she had said sothing redundant.
He stared at her for a good half minute, seemingly returning to his senses, then handed her a glass of juice from the table, awkwardly saying, "Finished washing? Get ready, we’ll go out for a walk in a bit."
Xia Xiaonuan rubbed her toes against her flip-flops, blushing, and stepped forward to take the juice, nodded, and quickly ran back to the bedroom.
The exotic island felt completely different from other ordinary vacation spots.
The two of them walked on the soft white sand. She wore a T-shirt and a flared denim skirt. The skirt was slightly wrinkled from being packed in the suitcase. As she observed the beautiful scenery before her, she kept tugging at her skirt’s hem as if constantly worried it would ride up.
Turning around, she saw that Shaochen was only wearing shorts and a T-shirt, looking just like a big boy.
He bent his head, his gaze eting hers.
His eyes were gentle and calm, like the sea in front of them, then he naturally extended his hand and took her small hand.
Along the beach was a long wooden bridge. The two of them walked to the bridge, and under the lights, they could vaguely see the colorful coral reefs and vibrant tropical fish swimming leisurely.
Xia Xiaonuan squatted down, reached into the cool seawater through the sh gaps, and soon so fish ca to nibble on her fingers. Shaochen squatted beside her, smiling, "Be careful not to get bitten by a magical fish."
Magical fish?
Xia Xiaonuan was startled, quickly withdrawing her hand. Seeing the mischievous grin on Shaochen’s face, she suddenly knew she had been tricked and couldn’t help but splash the water droplets from her hand at him.
He quickly raised his hand to block, but still got splashed with water droplets all over his face.
Xia Xiaonuan giggled. Shaochen also laughed but gently.
At this mont, they vaguely heard a small "thump thump" sound from underneath. Xia Xiaonuan was startled, and Shaochen laughed, "It should be the magical fish displeased with you for bullying ."
Xia Xiaonuan pouted, "I didn’t bully you; clearly you bullied ."
Shaochen wrapped his arm around her waist, "Look over there."
At that mont, a large magical fish indeed swam out from under the bridge, Xia Xiaonuan exclaid in surprise, "It’s really a magical fish."
As she spoke, she suddenly thought of sothing and quickly took out her cara to start clicking.
Then, Shaochen also pulled out his phone, stepped back, and began photographing her.
"Don’t take pictures... I haven’t posed yet." Xia Xiaonuan shouted while holding up her cara.
"Click—" the photo was already taken.
"Let see." Xia Xiaonuan leaned towards him, but he moved the phone away, "It looks nice; no need to see..."
"No... Let see!" Xia Xiaonuan demanded, unaware that for a girl, the most frustrating thing is taking photos of her and then not showing the result.
Shaochen had no choice but to hand the phone to her.
Xia Xiaonuan looked at it and found it terribly hideous. Her mouth was wide open, and she was holding the cara foolishly.
"It’s not nice, delete it quickly." she said, hastily deleting the photo.
