Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140: Do a Paternity Test Again Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140: Do a Paternity Test Again Luo Xusheng didn’t speak, and after seeing Luo Yuqing looking sowhat at a loss, he shifted his gaze over as well.
“Dad, did you just get back? Have you seen Mom?” Luo Ziling continued to ask when Luo Xusheng didn’t answer, “Are you here to spend New Year’s with us, or what? Grandpa will be returning to the Capital in a few days, Mom said he’s preparing to spend New Year’s with us.”
“I just ca back to see you guys,” Luo Xusheng took a sip of tea and muttered, “There’s still so ti before New Year’s. If I’m free, I’ll co and see you then.”
“You still haven’t told if you saw Mom,” Luo Ziling felt his anger growing inside, why was his dad so infuriating?
“Not yet, I just arrived tonight,” Luo Xusheng took another sip of tea.
He didn’t tell Luo Ziling that it was Yang Xiaodong who had contacted him and inford him of Luo Ziling’s whereabouts, leading him to find them.
But Luo Ziling had guessed as much.
“So you knew I was with Yuqing, and that’s why you stopped us?” Luo Ziling said, then asked Luo Xusheng, “Doesn’t she look like your daughter?”
“Like!”
“We want to do a paternity test together, are you willing to cooperate?” Luo Ziling asked Luo Xusheng again.
“What kind of cooperation do you need?”
Seeing that Luo Xusheng didn’t refuse, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief, “Hair, or blood, any bodily fluids are fine.”
Luo Xusheng didn’t say anything, drew a short knife from his waist, cut a lock of hair from his head, and handed it to Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling quickly took it, wrapped it in a piece of paper, and handed it to Luo Yuqing. “Senpai, are you satisfied now?”
Luo Yuqing quickly accepted it, put it in her bag, and then squeezed out a smile to Luo Xusheng, “Thank you, Mr. Luo… Uncle… Ziling’s dad.”
She was very embarrassed, unsure of what to call Luo Xusheng.
Mr. Luo felt inappropriate—if Luo Xusheng really was her father, calling him uncle now would be very awkward later on.
Without confirmation, she of course couldn’t call him dad, and even if confird, she wasn’t sure she could bring herself to call out “Dad” so readily—at this mont, she wouldn’t call him that even if you killed her.
Calling him Mr. Luo was even less appropriate; it was too formal. In the end, she simply referred to him as “Ziling’s dad,” though even this title was awkward.
Luo Xusheng didn’t say much, just smiled and glanced at Luo Yuqing a few more tis.
At this mont, where was the radiant smile that Luo Yuqing had when she was with Luo Ziling? Right now, she was more nervous than anyone else.
Soon, the hotpot arrived.
Luo Ziling threw a bunch of ingredients into the pot and then asked the server for a bottle of yellow wine, pouring so for both Luo Xusheng and Luo Yuqing.
Luo Ziling raised his glass.
“Dad, Yuqing, whether or not we are family, we should all have a good drink today.”
Luo Xusheng didn’t speak, picked up his glass, and drank it down in one gulp.
Luo Yuqing held up her glass and respectfully toasted Luo Xusheng, “Whether or not you’re my biological father, I toast to you.”
After gulping down the wine, Luo Yuqing added, “Ever since I can rember, I’ve never enjoyed a single day of true fatherly love. If you are my father, I hope you can care for as a father would. If you’re not, I still hope you can look after in the capacity of an elder.”
Luo Xusheng looked at Luo Yuqing, smiled faintly, yet again stayed silent, just poured himself another glass, raised it to Luo Yuqing, and drank it all in one go.
Throughout the late-night al, Luo Xusheng hardly said a word. Luo Yuqing, feeling quite awkward, didn’t say much either, leaving Luo Ziling as the only one who kept talking incessantly.
But so things couldn’t be asked in front of Luo Yuqing, such as Luo Xusheng’s upcoming plans, or his situation regarding the appointnt in the Eastern War Zone—these could not be discussed in the presence of a third party, so the questions he asked were only about less important matters.
However, he later couldn’t help but ask about what happened that year.
Hearing Luo Ziling ask about the events of that year, Luo Yuqing was also very curious, but Luo Xusheng refused to answer.
This left both Luo Ziling and Luo Yuqing very disappointed, but there was nothing they could do.
After they had finished their late-night snack, Luo Xusheng also left directly without telling Luo Ziling where he was going, or how they were going to et tomorrow.
Luo Ziling thought for a bit, then called Wuyue to ask where she was.
Wuyue told Luo Ziling that she had just returned to Ling Ruonan’s villa and hadn’t had the chance to freshen up yet.
Luo Ziling asked Wuyue to choose an appropriate ti to tell Ling Ruonan that Luo Xusheng had returned.
Luo Ziling guessed that his reticent father definitely wouldn’t take the initiative to tell Ling Ruonan about his return.
The most likely thing for Luo Xusheng to do was to show up unexpectedly in front of Ling Ruonan, probably scaring her half to death.
Luo Ziling really couldn’t understand how his father, with such personality, could be so popular with so many won.
He felt that, compared to Luo Xusheng, he had much more charm—not to ntion that he wasn’t a quiet type like Luo Xusheng.
“We’ll know the results soon,” Luo Yuqing’s mood was different from Luo Ziling’s, she seed very happy.
“Then let’s get it tested tomorrow.” Luo Ziling put his arm around Luo Yuqing’s shoulders, “Getting the results earlier will save us so worry.”
“Mm, let’s go together tomorrow,” Luo Yuqing nodded.
After the two of them confird that they would go to the police station’s evidence identification center to deliver the samples the next day, they each went back to sleep.
At this ti, the student dormitory was already locked up, but Luo Yuqing, as the student council president, wasn’t worried about being unable to get back to her dorm room.
Luo Ziling was even less concerned about not being able to return to his room.
The next morning, the two of them got up early to exercise, and during the workout, they agreed to have breakfast together and then head to the identification office.
However, when they went together, they realized that sothing was amiss because it was the weekend.
Luo Yuqing imdiately called the friend she knew.
Fortunately, that friend told Luo Yuqing that they also had soone on weekend duty.
She told Luo Yuqing to look for the person on duty today; she would call her colleague and let them take in the sample.
When Luo Yuqing and Luo Ziling arrived at the substation’s evidence identification office, a male officer on duty received them.
This male officer had already received a call from Luo Yuqing’s friend and treated them very warmly.
The male officer wasn’t the only one on duty that day. There were a few other officers, including a female officer responsible for receiving samples.
The female officer seed to pause for a mont while entering the information for the check.
After taking the samples and completing the registration, the female officer, who was in her thirties, hid away and secretly made a phone call.
“Master, all three of them have co together for a paternity test,” the female officer whispered to the person on the other end of the phone: “What should I do?”
“You’re a smart person; you should know what to do,” the person on the other end spoke in an indifferent tone: “Don’t tell about this anymore, I don’t want to know.”
“Okay, I understand,” the officer breathed a sigh of relief.
She imdiately went into the sample storage area and took out the three samples that had just been delivered.
