Chapter 1444: Chapter 1444: Won are Fickle
After dropping Luo Yuqing off at school, it was still quite early, only eight in the evening.
Coincidentally, just as Luo Ziling was about to head back to the villa, he received a call from Ouyang Feifei.
“Are you free tonight?”
“What’s up?”
“Not feeling well.”
“What’s wrong?”
“If you’re free, could you co over and take a look at ?” Ouyang Feifei’s voice sounded a little downcast.
“Alright, I’ll be there in half an hour,” Luo Ziling didn’t refuse.
Healing and helping others was, in his view, a physician’s duty. Plus, he’d promised Ouyang Feifei last ti that he’d visit her for a check-up, so he agreed without hesitation.
After calling Ling Ruonan and explaining the situation, Luo Ziling went back to his dorm to grab a different set of dical tools, then hailed a taxi to head over.
When he arrived at Ouyang Feifei’s villa, exactly half an hour had passed since he received her call.
Through the electronic surveillance, Ouyang Feifei saw Luo Ziling approaching, so she personally ca to the door to greet him.
“I’m punctual, aren’t I?” Luo Ziling smiled. “Coming straight from the school. Originally, I planned to spend so ti with my mom.”
Ouyang Feifei was dressed in loungewear—a thick padded robe over a sweater. Her hair fell loosely, giving her a pure and beautiful appearance, with a touch of alluring laziness. Luo Ziling couldn’t help but glance at her a few more tis. So instinctive impulses within him surged uncontrollably.
“Did you have sothing to do earlier tonight?” Ouyang Feifei asked softly.
“This afternoon, I helped treat my great grandfather, and in the evening I had dinner at my grandfather’s place.”
“Did Luo Yuqing go with you?”
“How did you know?” Luo Ziling looked surprised.
“Just a guess!”
Luo Ziling’s curiosity was piqued. “Tell why you guessed that.”
“Sothing involving Luo Yuqing happened earlier. Your mom must be upset. Since she’s accepted Luo Yuqing as a Luo family mber, she naturally wouldn’t want anyone to hurt her. After what happened, your mom would surely be angry. Since you went to the Ling Family Old Mansion, it’s obvious you’d take her with you.”
Luo Ziling stared at Ouyang Feifei’s calm deanor for a while before speaking. “You know about what happened last night?”
“Word got out. It must have been at your mom’s instigation; that’s how I found out,” Ouyang Feifei replied softly. “It’s just how she operates, so nothing surprising.”
“I once heard soone say: A woman with wisdom bordering on the demonic, she’s either a nun or soone’s lover.”
Luo Ziling’s remark made Ouyang Feifei’s expression change instantly.
However, she didn’t retort. Instead, she looked at Luo Ziling full of grievance.
“I don’t even know if that statent is true, but I do think that when a woman is too clever, it can be exhausting for a man,” Luo Ziling continued, leaning closer to Ouyang Feifei. “If you get married soday and can interpret every action your husband makes, leaving him no secrets, most n wouldn’t be able to handle that. A woman being a little clueless makes for a happier life. My mom is the opposite example.”
Ouyang Feifei had initially wanted to ask Luo Ziling, “If your mom is so smart, does that an her only options are being a nun or soone’s lover?”
She hadn’t expected Luo Ziling himself to bring up Ling Ruonan as a negative example.
“Alright, back to the real issue,” Luo Ziling continued, still looking directly at Ouyang Feifei. “What’s wrong today? Where do you feel uncomfortable?”
“Forget it. I don’t need your help,” Ouyang Feifei said coldly. “It’s late. I’m going to rest. You can leave now.”
“Fine,” Luo Ziling said heatedly. “Then goodbye.”
With that, he turned and left Ouyang Feifei’s villa without any hesitation.
Watching Luo Ziling leave without offering any explanation or comfort, Ouyang Feifei was so upset that tears welled up in her eyes.
To Luo Ziling’s surprise, as he walked away from Ouyang Feifei’s villa, he saw Yang Xiaodong talking to Wang Qing.
Yang Xiaodong had co on Ling Ruonan’s instructions to pick Luo Ziling up.
He had just arrived at Ling Ruonan’s villa and barely exchanged words with Wang Qing when Luo Ziling walked out, leaving him baffled.
Wang Qing was equally stunned.
Seeing the unpleasant expression on Luo Ziling’s face, she imdiately felt uneasy.
“Mr. Luo, what’s going on with Miss Ouyang?” Wang Qing assud Ouyang Feifei’s condition might be serious.
“What’s wrong with Feifei? Is it serious?” Yang Xiaodong asked out of concern as well.
“She didn’t want there, so I left,” Luo Ziling said, still angry. But after so thought, he asked Wang Qing, “What’s wrong with Ouyang Feifei? Do you know why she’s unwell?”
“She’s been feeling dizzy these past few days. Today, after coming ho from work and taking a shower, she suddenly fainted,” Wang Qing admitted, not holding back. She then quickly pleaded, “Mr. Luo, Miss Ouyang isn’t in a good mood. Please don’t argue with her anymore!”
Wang Qing was aware that Ouyang Feifei and Luo Ziling’s relationship had been strained recently. Although she sympathized with Ouyang Feifei, she also understood that if the two could get along, it would save Ouyang Feifei so dignity and ultimately benefit the Ouyang Family’s future goals.
Moreover, Wang Qing disliked Yang Qingyin, so she hoped Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei would reconcile.
Given Ouyang Feifei’s poor health today, she couldn’t bear to see Luo Ziling leave just like that.
After so hesitation, Luo Ziling finally stopped and went back inside.
When he returned to the room, Ouyang Feifei was sitting on the sofa wiping her eyes. Seeing him co back, she quickly dried her tears and turned away, refusing to look at him.
Luo Ziling didn’t speak. He sat down next to her, reached for her hand, and prepared to check her pulse.
Ouyang Feifei, still sulking, tried to pull her hand back, but Luo Ziling’s grip was firm, and she couldn’t break free.
“Don’t touch ,” Ouyang Feifei said angrily, kicking Luo Ziling in frustration.
Luo Ziling ignored her, took her pulse, and checked a few other symptoms before saying, “You’re experiencing qi and blood deficiency. You haven’t been sleeping well recently. Also, during your nstrual period, the amount of blood loss seems significant, so you’re showing signs of anemia. Eat more lean at and animal blood to supplent iron. I’ll give you a prescription. Take this for a week, and you should feel better.”
After speaking, he walked to the side, grabbed a notebook from the table, and casually wrote out a prescription.
But when he handed it to Ouyang Feifei, she didn’t take it, still pouting.
“Alright, I’ll bring the dicine over personally tomorrow. For now, go upstairs and rest early,” Luo Ziling said in a softened tone.
Ouyang Feifei still ignored him, sitting there angrily.
Seeing her like this, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but chuckle.
Suddenly, he scooped Ouyang Feifei up in his arms. Amid her startled scream, he carried her upstairs.
