Yang Yunlin didn’t stop there but continued to shout, “Have you ever thought about it? If you two insist on being together, how will Qingyin face us? And is your love for Qingyin pure? If it’s pure, why are you entangled with so many other won? Have you ever asked your supposedly capable mother who her ideal daughter-in-law is?”
Yang Yunlin’s words made Luo Ziling fall silent, while Yang Qingyin shed tears of grievance.
“You’re nothing but a scoundrel who enjoys toying with won’s feelings, just like your father back then,” Yang Yunlin continued, his expression cold as he barked, “Co back with . Your grandfather said that if you insist on this, then you’re no longer a daughter of the Yang Family. That is his decision.”
Outside the private room, no one was watching—the people accompanying Yang Yunlin had likely sent them away.
However, Luo Ziling noticed Wang Zhenjun and Ye Xiaoli standing at a distance. They didn’t approach.
“Dad, stop humiliating yourself here. Do you want people talking tomorrow about how the prestigious Mayor of Yanjing caused a scene in a small teahouse? I’m an adult, and I’ll make my own decisions regarding my life. You go ho first; I’ll co back for dinner tonight.” After calmly saying this, Yang Qingyin sat back down in her chair, ignoring Yang Yunlin.
“Mr. Yang—no, Mayor Yang—I believe you’re soone who understands the moral code of honor and sha the best. Please don’t drag us down into disgrace with you, all right?”
Luo Ziling’s comnt made Yang Yunlin’s face flush with fury, but he restrained himself. Snorting coldly, he flicked his sleeve and left.
The door to the private room was shut again, but neither Luo Ziling nor Yang Qingyin had the mood to talk anymore.
The two sat quietly, only occasionally glancing at each other.
No one expected Yang Yunlin to storm into their dating spot and unleash a tirade like that.
This argunt had completely torn apart any semblance of harmony, leaving no room for retreat.
As the two sat in silence, Luo Ziling’s phone rang.
A glance revealed it was a call from Ouyang Feifei.
In the midst of his irritation, Luo Ziling picked up the phone, intending to decline the call, but Yang Qingyin stopped him.
“Answer it and put it on speaker,” Yang Qingyin instructed softly. As Luo Ziling hesitated, she took the liberty of pressing the answer button.
“Hello,” Luo Ziling greeted.
“Co over for dinner. I’m cooking for you personally. Afterward, you can give another massage. My body still feels uncomfortable from the past few days,” Ouyang Feifei spoke directly, not suspecting that Yang Qingyin was with Luo Ziling. Before Luo Ziling could respond, she added, “My body feels tight in a few spots. Last ti after your massage, I felt much better. Do it for again tonight.”
By the ti Luo Ziling realized that Ouyang Feifei’s words would bring him catastrophic trouble, it was too late to hang up the phone.
Although the speakerphone wasn’t on, Ouyang Feifei’s words had been entirely overheard by Yang Qingyin.
Yang Qingyin’s face instantly changed. She looked at Luo Ziling in disbelief, her eyes filled with disappointnt.
Luo Ziling quickly ended the call, awkwardly looking at Yang Qingyin.
Before he could explain, Yang Qingyin abruptly stood up and strode toward the door.
As she opened the door to the private room, she turned back to glance at Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling distinctly saw the glimr of tears in Yang Qingyin’s eyes.
He sat there dazed for a long ti before snapping out of it and chasing after her.
But when he ran outside, he arrived just in ti to see Yang Qingyin’s Audi A4 driving out of the parking lot.
He imdiately called Yang Qingyin, but the call was rejected. When he tried again, her phone was turned off.
Dejected, he returned to the private room, burying his head in his hands and thinking for a long ti. Then, he picked up his phone to send Yang Qingyin a ssage. But after typing out a long explanation, Luo Ziling felt it was unconvincing and deleted it all.
Just then, a WeChat notification ca through—it was from Ouyang Feifei: “When are you coming over?”
“I’m busy! Not coming!” Luo Ziling replied curtly and imdiately turned off his phone.
For the rest of the afternoon, he sat alone in the teahouse, brooding over cups of tea.
He knew that after what had happened today, he had no way of explaining himself to Yang Qingyin.
Yang Yunlin’s anger, combined with Ouyang Feifei’s untily phone call, rendered all explanations aningless.
Luo Ziling understood that what sustained Yang Qingyin’s persistence was his love. But Ouyang Feifei’s call had shattered that persistence.
Yang Yunlin’s furious outburst, coupled with Ouyang Feifei’s call, completely broke down Yang Qingyin’s emotional defenses, leaving her devastated.
And he, no matter what he did, could neither face himself with honesty nor offer Yang Qingyin any relief for her pain.
But he couldn’t bla Ouyang Feifei either.
Had he firmly rejected Ouyang Feifei and avoided intimate contact with her, this wouldn’t have happened.
He had seen Ouyang Feifei’s body, kissed her, and touched her. They had almost gone further.
With such intimate interaction, most people would see them as a couple. Ouyang Feifei likely believed so too—at the very least, she believed he had deep feelings for her. So, the bla could only fall on himself.
By late afternoon, Wang Zhenjun, who had been waiting outside, entered the private room and sat across from Luo Ziling.
“Young Master, Ouyang Feifei called , asking what happened. How should I respond?” Wang Zhenjun had witnessed everything that had transpired that day. While he didn’t know exactly why Yang Qingyin had left in tears, he could guess that it must have been a dispute with Luo Ziling.
Seeing that Luo Ziling hadn’t chased after her imdiately, Wang Zhenjun could tell sothing was wrong.
Guessing that Luo Ziling wasn’t in a good mood, Wang Zhenjun refrained from teasing him.
When Ouyang Feifei called him, he hadn’t disclosed what had happened either.
“I’m going back to school,” Luo Ziling replied without addressing Wang Zhenjun’s question. He stood up and walked straight out. “Settle the bill, and tell Ouyang Feifei that I’m busy for the next few days.”
Wang Zhenjun hurried to pay the bill.
Afterward, as he went to start the car, he realized Luo Ziling had already disappeared.
He quickly drove out in pursuit and saw Luo Ziling walking alone on the street.
“Young Master, get in. I’ll take you,” Wang Zhenjun said, pulling the car up beside Luo Ziling.
“I want to walk alone. Don’t bother ,” Luo Ziling snapped irritably. “You go on your own.”
Then he ordered, “Don’t tell my mom or Ouyang Feifei about today’s incident.”
“Okay,” Wang Zhenjun agreed in the end.
