Chapter 1503: Chapter 1503: Tearing Off the Mask
“Is Mr. Luo provoking ?” Chen Jiahai glared at Luo Ziling with a grim face. “Don’t you think my injury and hospitalization have sothing to do with you?”
“You’re overestimating ,” Luo Ziling sneered as he stared at Chen Jiahai. “After all the sches you’ve tried to kill and all the immoral things you’ve done, do you really think you have the right to accuse ?”
“So it’s reasonable for bad people to commit cris, but when good people step out of line, it’s considered outrageous, right? That must be the logic in Mr. Chen’s world,” Luo Yuqing joined in with a taunt. “Do you think dirty tricks are patented to scumbags like you?”
“You really think you can openly challenge people now?” Chen Jiahai’s frosty expression deepened. “You really don’t take the Chen Family seriously anymore?”
“Technically speaking, we’re still relatives by blood. Let think… It should be the collateral fourth generation—close enough to be family but beyond the boundary of the marriage law’s restriction. Still, not distant enough, right?” Luo Ziling spoke earnestly to Chen Jiahai. “It’s perfectly understandable that you don’t treat us as kin, and frankly, we don’t care. But what I find hard to understand is—why have most of my grandmother’s siblings’ descendants turned out to be so insidiously wicked?”
His seemingly off-topic remark completely enraged Chen Jiahai. Fixating a colder stare on Luo Ziling, he hissed through gritted teeth, “Just because Old Mr. Ling favors you now, don’t think we won’t dare to retaliate.”
“If you still haven’t learned your lesson, feel free to try your tricks again. Let warn you—if there’s another ‘accident,’ I can guarantee you won’t walk out alive.” Luo Ziling’s lips curled into a smile; he added mockingly, “Rember the consequences you’ve already faced—along with your cousin’s. Also, while I’m proficient in dicine, I can’t produce a redy for regret.”
With that, he ignored Chen Jiahai entirely and grabbed Luo Yuqing’s hand, heading toward Ouyang Feifei’s office.
“Luo Ziling, I will make you pay a price you can’t afford!” Chen Jiahai’s furious roar echoed from behind.
“Chen Jiahai’s finished,” Luo Yuqing remarked with a chuckle to Luo Ziling. “He’s no longer qualified to be your match. Don’t waste your ti on him.”
“Even a mad dog can still cause damage,” Luo Ziling released her hand and said solemnly. “You need to be extra careful. If they can’t touch , they’ll vent their frustration on you.”
Luo Yuqing nodded. “I’ll minimize my outings off campus. If I do need to go out, I’ll go with you. How about that?”
Luo Ziling nodded in agreent, having made up his mind—he would never allow Chen Jiahai to harm them again.
When Luo Ziling and Luo Yuqing reached Ouyang Feifei’s office, Wang Qing imdiately escorted them in.
“Your admirer showed up again?” Luo Ziling teased as he walked in and saw Ouyang Feifei engrossed in docunts at her desk. “Seems like I ca at the wrong ti.”
“You ran into Chen Jiahai?” Ouyang Feifei looked up. “What happened?”
Luo Ziling didn’t respond directly and instead smirked. “If your office surveillance includes video capture, you can check the footage.”
Ouyang Feifei took his suggestion seriously and asked Wang Qing to retrieve the surveillance footage.
“He ca to discuss cooperation matters. Lingyun Group and so enterprises under the Chen Family have long been collaborating. Before his incident, the partnership was even expanded. But after that, Chen Jiahu beca the interdiary instead,” Ouyang Feifei explained preemptively, without waiting for Luo Ziling’s question. “The projects involve investnt upwards of several billion, so it’s not sothing that can be casually halted.”
“Did he make any other moves? Like presenting you flowers, inviting you for coffee or dinner, or asking you to go watch a movie together?” Luo Ziling teased, a mischievous smile on his face.
“Oh, are you jealous?” Luo Yuqing interjected mockingly after Luo Ziling’s string of probing questions. “What does it matter to you if he pursues Sister Feifei? You’re not even her boyfriend.”
Luo Ziling didn’t respond but gave Luo Yuqing a sharp glare.
Luo Yuqing rolled her eyes and plopped down on the sofa.
“He asked to dinner tonight,” Ouyang Feifei said expressionlessly.
“Fine, then let’s discuss our business quickly, so we don’t interfere with your date,” Luo Ziling remarked as he took a seat on the sofa.
“I haven’t agreed to it,” Ouyang Feifei replied with a hint of resentnt, standing up. “I’ve never agreed to have dinner with him alone.”
At that mont, Wang Qing returned with the retrieved surveillance footage.
The recent incident replayed on the computer screen, and the conversation between Luo Ziling and Chen Jiahai echoed in the office once more.
After watching the video, Ouyang Feifei fell silent for a while before breaking her pause. “Why did things escalate to this point?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Luo Ziling said nonchalantly. “We’ve been at odds, life-and-death, for a long ti now. Besides, I believe he’ll die before because I’m stronger and destined to outlive him. My grandfather predicted I’d live past one hundred.”
Ouyang Feifei remained silent once again.
“Let’s talk about us now,” Luo Ziling diverted the topic. “You wanted to co over—what do you want to discuss?”
“If it’s sothing you’ve decided I shouldn’t know, then I’ll step out for now and chat with Sister Wang Qing,” Luo Yuqing stood up tactfully after noticing Ouyang Feifei’s hesitation. “I’ll wander outside for a bit.”
Ouyang Feifei didn’t insist on her staying and let her leave.
“There’s an upcoming international pharmaceutical developnt forum in South Korea. Would you like to go with ?”
Ouyang Feifei’s unexpected announcent caught Luo Ziling off guard. “Why are you inviting ?”
Instead of answering directly, Ouyang Feifei explained, “I’ve heard that during that ti, there’s also a Huaxia-South Korea dical exchange event. Huaxia will dispatch a delegation for the exchange. Your mother ntioned you’re eager to visit South Korea to interact with traditional dical experts and search for another acupuncture bronze figure.”
“My mom told you even that?” Luo Ziling’s surprise was palpable.
Ouyang Feifei nodded and then added seriously, “That’s why I invited you here—to discuss this thoroughly.”
“Looks like my trip to South Korea is inevitable, huh?”
“I think so.”
“So, you’re going too?”
“This international dical forum is critical for Lingyun Pharmaceutical, but my participation isn’t essential. Since you’re going, I’d like to attend the conference personally. We could look out for each other,” Ouyang Feifei stated candidly.
“Let think about it for a few days before responding, alright? I’m worried if I go to South Korea with you, I might lose my chastity!”
“…”
