Chapter 1595: Chapter 1595: Anger and Counterattack
Ling Ruonan’s car and Wu Yanning’s car drove one after the other into Ling Mingrui’s villa.
Ling Mingrui hadn’t returned yet, Xie Enhua heard the commotion and ca out to greet them.
“Nannan is here, oh, Yanning is back too,” Xie Enhua appeared surprised upon seeing Wu Yanning, “Why, aren’t you in Yangcheng accompanying Haining?”
Though Xie Enhua was quite fond of Luo Ziling, this affection largely stemd from Ling Ruonan, coupled with a sense of guilt toward Luo Ziling.
After all, Luo Ziling wasn’t soone she watched grow up, so the relationship couldn’t be that deep.
Ling Haining is soone she watched grow up, and moreover, he is her grandson.
Ling Mingrui has one son and one daughter, while Ling Zhengping has only one son; you could say they’ve passed down through two generations.
Although the thought of passing on the family line isn’t as serious nowadays, for a woman of Xie Enhua’s age and as the matriarch of a large family, there is still so difference in perception between boys and girls. Ling Zhengping is certainly set to assu the position of Head of the Ling Family in the future; in Xie Enhua’s mind, grandson Ling Haining holds a unique place. You could say that in Xie Enhua’s heart, Ling Haining’s status is much higher than Luo Ziling’s.
The weight of a grandson and a grandson-in-law is definitely not the sa.
Xie Enhua is concerned about Ling Haining’s recovery. Seeing Wu Yanning not in Yangcheng taking care of Ling Haining, but returning to Yanjing, she was a bit displeased.
Wu Yanning hurriedly explained that she ca back for sothing very important, and she would imdiately return to Yangcheng to accompany Ling Haining after finishing her business. And she was here for another important matter, which was to ask Luo Ziling to help with the treatnt.
Xie Enhua naturally knew about the discord between Ling Zhengping and Ling Ruonan; it was one of the things that troubled her the most.
She was even more aware of the extent to which the relationship between Luo Ziling and Ling Haining had soured, and she even suspected that Ling Haining’s injury was caused by Luo Ziling or Ling Ruonan. Because of this suspicion, her attitude towards Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling slightly changed.
But after hearing from Ling Zhengping that this possibility could be largely ruled out, she felt sowhat relieved.
Today Wu Yanning personally ran back to ask Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling, hoping that Luo Ziling would help treat Ling Haining, Xie Enhua could very much understand why Wu Yanning said this.
Personally coming over to apologize and present goodwill is the only way to gain a concession from Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan.
She understood that if Ling Zhengping or Wu Yanning rely made a phone call to make a request, Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling definitely wouldn’t pay attention.
Personally coming over to make a request and show goodwill is a necessary action, it signifies sincerity.
With enough sincerity, only then can Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling’s forgiveness be obtained.
Xie Enhua also knew this was the reason why Wu Yanning hurriedly returned to Yanjing before Ling Haining’s injury had stabilized.
Therefore, she imdiately asked Luo Ziling if he agreed to help with the treatnt.
Luo Ziling apologized and expressed his helplessness, saying that he would be going abroad tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to return for so ti, certainly unable to help Ling Haining with the treatnt during this period.
Wu Yanning promptly said that now Ling Haining cannot travel long distances and needs to receive treatnt in the hospital, and would return to Yanjing once his health improved to a certain extent.
Seeing both parties speaking like this, clearly appearing to have resolved any misunderstandings, Xie Enhua was relieved.
Her smile naturally erged, and she invited Ling Ruonan, Wu Yanning, and Luo Ziling inside for tea.
While the four people sat together chatting about household matters, Ling Mingrui returned.
Ling Mingrui didn’t know that Ling Ruonan would bring Luo Ziling over for dinner today; Ling Ruonan had only ntioned it to Xie Enhua, not telling Ling Mingrui. He didn’t expect Wu Yanning to be there as well, so upon seeing the three people chatting with Xie Enhua, he couldn’t help but frown.
“Dad,” Ling Ruonan and Wu Yanning called out simultaneously and stood up.
Luo Ziling also stood up and called out “Grandpa.”
Xie Enhua hurriedly explained the situation, saying that Wu Yanning returned to request Luo Ziling’s assistance with Ling Haining’s injury treatnt, and Luo Ziling agreed. She subtly hinted that the misunderstanding between Ling Zhengping and Ling Ruonan had mostly been resolved, and the relationship between the siblings had improved.
Understanding the implied aning in Xie Enhua’s words, Ling Mingrui’s expression softened sowhat.
He inquired about Ling Haining’s injury, and Wu Yanning naturally answered honestly.
Upon hearing that Ling Haining’s injury wasn’t severe, Ling Mingrui also relaxed a bit.
However, instead of engaging in idle chit-chat with a few won, he instructed Luo Ziling to go to the study to speak with him.
“Indeed underestimated you, kid,” as soon as they entered the study, Ling Mingrui pulled a stern face, “causing such a stir.”
“Grandpa, you’ve wronged , Haining cousin’s injury really wasn’t my fault,” Luo Ziling, feigning ignorance, anxiously defended himself, “After my mom had a car accident and got injured, I was extrely tense, busy taking care of her the whole ti. Plus, I know for certain that the car accident wasn’t planned by them.”
“You found out it was orchestrated by Chen Jiahai, so you took action against him? Moreover, you frad Yang Yunzhong for his death?” Ling Mingrui pointedly laid out the facts, “Don’t think just because your actions are covert, others won’t perceive it that way.”
“I know, that’s why I couldn’t stand up to explain since, whether or not I did it, others would assu it was my doing,” Luo Ziling still looking innocent, “However, the police didn’t find us, they definitely suspect we weren’t involved in this matter.”
Ling Mingrui didn’t respond, nor did he look at Luo Ziling, instead, he got up and made a cup of tea.
Luo Ziling didn’t offer further explanations, nor did he sit down, simply standing quietly.
“Looks like we indeed underestimated you,” Ling Mingrui brewed tea, then sat back down, coldly watching Luo Ziling, “You’ve got quite a few tricks up your sleeve.”
“Grandpa, you flatter .”
“Maybe one day, all the younger generations of the Ling Family will be tornted by you until they wish they were dead, or even end up like Chen Jiahai.”
“Grandpa, such words coming from you lose dignity,” Luo Ziling, a bit agitated, couldn’t help but retort, “You haven’t confird whether I’m responsible, yet you incessantly accuse ; while when my mom and I faced nurous assassination attempts, nearly losing our lives, I didn’t see you this emotional. Seems like you still don’t recognize your daughter and grandson. If that’s true, you might as well say so directly.”
Ling Mingrui didn’t expect Luo Ziling to respond so defiantly, his surprise was evident.
Luo Ziling continued, “I don’t believe I’ve done anything wrong; everything we do is purely for self-defense. If people don’t offend , I won’t offend them. But that doesn’t an we’re weak; even a rabbit will bite when cornered. Therefore, if you ca here today just to reprimand , I won’t accept it.”
Unexpectedly, as Luo Ziling spoke more boldly, Ling Mingrui’s expression turned increasingly stern.
