Chapter 1611: Chapter 1611: The Contest Continues

Lin Lan is very beautiful, but more importantly, it’s her unparalleled aura.

She always presents herself with an air of calmness and composure before everyone, just like she did earlier.

When she walked in with Luo Ziling, she was very composed, with a tranquil expression. Anyone who saw her would feel a sense of mystery.

She is quite tall, over 1.70 ters, and with the addition of high heels, she subtly gives the impression of surpassing Luo Ziling in height when they stand together.

Her face is also very beautiful, and after years at Dragon Rise, she has developed a deanor that ordinary won lack.

Even if she tries to conceal it, the pride in her bones is impossible to hide.

Although Luo Ziling is handso, when Lin Lan stands beside him, she subtly overshadows his presence.

Ishihara Naka, upon seeing Luo Ziling and Lin Lan, speculated which prestigious family Lin Lan belonged to, thinking Luo Ziling dared to act so boldly because he was with her.

Unexpectedly, Lin Lan said she was rely one of Luo Ziling’s many admirers, and that he hadn’t accepted her pursuit.

Actually, Lin Lan’s words weren’t quite wrong; the reality is quite similar. Lin Lan is just one of Luo Ziling’s many close female friends, only their relationship is the closest. However, this portrayal makes Luo Ziling appear even more outstanding.

Lin Lan’s appearance instantly outshone the less charismatic Suzuki Kowari.

Suzuki Kowari is a star and quite popular, but she doesn’t have any advantage in looks compared to Lin Lan, and she’s nearly ten centiters shorter than Lin Lan. More importantly, she’s lacking in aura.

Suzuki Kowari’s appearance is rather pure; pure won give a simple impression, but they lack the aristocratic deanor.

Thus, when she stands alongside Lin Lan, she is overshadowed in both presence and stature.

Furthermore, Ishihara Naka introduced her as his girlfriend, whereas the outstanding girl beside Luo Ziling is just an admirer. The comparison naturally put her at a disadvantage. Luo Ziling and Lin Lan’s aura overshadowed the others.

The relationships between people are often so nuanced, especially at public occasions where many eyes are on you.

Ishihara Naka felt a bit aggrieved, no, very suffocated—a feeling hard to describe with words. Suzuki Kowari, who had been highly confident she would be the center of attention and the belle of the ball, felt the sa way.

Seeing Lin Lan backing him up, Luo Ziling felt even more proud. When Lin Lan reached out to hold his arm, he stood with an air of arrogance without expressing anything particular. He adored Lin Lan—the eternally aloof woman who was unexpectedly cooperative today.

eting Ishihara Naka for the first ti today, the two engaged in a silent rivalry, using their female companions to bolster their positions—Luo Ziling himself felt he had the upper hand.

Although Ishihara Naka felt suffocated inside, he didn’t show it, instead extending a hand to Lin Lan with a full smile, executing a Western-style bow. After bending at the waist in a ninety-degree bow with both hands on his chest, he reached out: “Miss Lin, hello, pleased to et you. Truly envy Mr. Luo for having an admirer as beautiful as you.”

The latter part of his statent wasn’t re pleasantries; it was almost a reflection of his current thoughts.

As soone who had seen many won and even fild minor films with so, Ishihara Naka no longer had the ntality of a novice; now he preferred won with a mature elegance like Lin Lan.

A woman like her, if conquered, would bring an even greater sense of accomplishnt.

In fact, upon first glance at Lin Lan, Ishihara Naka was captivated; he simply managed to keep it from showing.

Lin Lan rely clasped Ishihara Naka’s fingertips briefly before releasing them, not saying anything, just nodding slightly.

This perfectly aligned with Lin Lan’s personality, as she was quite aloof.

Looking pure and beautiful, yet exuding an aloof elegance, such a woman is truly exceptional, making Luo Ziling find her more appealing the more he looked.

So after Lin Lan greeted Ishihara Naka, Luo Ziling pulled her hand.

Lin Lan didn’t struggle, instead, she grasped Luo Ziling’s hand in return, the two standing hand-in-hand.

Thus, Luo Ziling and Lin Lan completely stole the spotlight from Ishihara Naka and Suzuki Kowari, becoming the most noticeable pair in the whole gathering.

After both sides had exchanged a few words, a representative from the Japanese dical Association ca over to invite Ishihara Naka and Suzuki Kowari, along with Luo Ziling and Lin Lan, to be seated. They were seated at the main table, a large round table that could accommodate at least sixteen people.

The event today was conducted entirely in the Huaxia style, with dishes provided all being Huaxia cuisine.

This was a considerate arrangent by the Japanese side, understanding that those participating in the exchange were culturally traditional individuals who would certainly prefer Huaxia dishes over Western cuisine or Japanese sushi. Western or Japanese traditional cuisine could only be offered occasionally.

Luo Ziling and Lin Lan were seated beside Ishihara Naka and Suzuki Kowari, with Lin Lan next to Suzuki Kowari while Luo Ziling and Ishihara Naka sat beside them.

As they took their seats, several people were already there. There were the head and deputy head of the Huaxia delegation, two secretaries, Luo Ziling’s superior Wu Mingyun, and an elderly traditional dicine practitioner nad Wang Fushou in his eighties.

The others present were Japanese accompanying mbers, including several Japanese officials who attended the welco this afternoon, along with nurous prominent figures in Japan’s traditional dicine field.

Luo Ziling, Lin Lan, Ishihara Naka, and Suzuki Kowari were the youngest at the main table, a stark contrast to the others.

Not only were they young, but they were strikingly attractive, even the elderly folks at the table couldn’t help but keep glancing at them.

That’s right, there were two elderly won accompanying the Japanese side.

After being seated, Suzuki Kowari politely spoke with Lin Lan, though her Chinese was a bit clumsy.

Although Lin Lan disliked engaging with strangers, she obliged for appearances’ sake and responded with a couple of sentences when Suzuki Kowari spoke to her.

And she responded in Japanese, with a highly authentic Jingdu accent, which surprised Suzuki Kowari.

“Miss Lin, have you professionally studied Japanese?” Suzuki Kowari switched to Japanese, “Or have you studied in Japan?”

“I majored in foreign languages during university and spent so ti in Japan,” Lin Lan, unwilling to divulge more about herself, stopped talking.

At this point, Ishihara Naka chid in: “Mr. Luo, your girlfriend speaks Japanese so well. Do you also speak Japanese?”

“No,” Luo Ziling replied directly, “I only learn languages I’m interested in. I believe there’s no language better than Huaxia’s, no script more beautiful than its characters.”

Luo Ziling’s words changed Ishihara Naka’s expression, as well as the expressions of so Japanese individuals who understood Chinese.
