Chapter 1651: Chapter 1651: Another Unexpected Event
Ouyang Feifei still boarded the bus with Luo Ziling.
Ouyang Feifei did not appear as she usually did. In the delegation, most people weren’t interested in financial news, and besides people like Hu Wenjun and Gu Changwei, others didn’t recognize her. Those who did recognize Ouyang Feifei wouldn’t reveal her identity.
Thus, most people just thought of Ouyang Feifei as Luo Ziling’s friend or girlfriend, but they didn’t intentionally probe.
Luo Ziling’s dical skills were outstanding, and he was talented, so it was natural for him to be admired by beautiful won.
So who had daughters or granddaughters initially wanted to get close to Luo Ziling, with the idea of him becoming a son-in-law.
But upon seeing the many won around him, and realizing their daughters couldn’t compare, they gave up.
Nevertheless, Luo Ziling remained the focus of discussion; accompanying beauties was a hot topic, and his excellent performance during the visit added fuel to the conversation.
In this visit to Japan, almost all delegation activities were tied to Luo Ziling. To exaggerate a bit, Luo Ziling was the lead actor in this event, while others did not even rit supporting roles, at most just extras.
This displeased so, such as Gu Jian’an and Gu Changgu, as well as others who wanted a mont in the spotlight.
But considering the overall situation, everyone accepted this result willingly. After all, it concerned the nation’s honor and their own reputations. In the face of major issues, personal grievances are set aside, considering their age and experience. Moreover, Luo Ziling was only aggressive towards the Japanese but did not behave arrogantly with them.
Therefore, though the beauties around Luo Ziling were enviable and his boldness towards the Japanese was apparent, no one really opposed him.
When Luo Ziling got on the bus, many people greeted him politely. Even those older like Wang Xuyun, Cheng Bushi, He Lan, and Dong Changqing, despite their high status and age, respectfully greeted him with smiles.
Perhaps they had discussed among themselves and planned to gather in Luo Ziling’s room that evening for a good discussion on acupuncture techniques. They wanted to learn his Taiyi Divine Needle acupuncture skill as his disciples.
Luo Ziling did not refuse, agreeing readily, saying they should have a good drink together tonight.
The vehicle quickly arrived at the embassy, where the ambassador and a few other officials ca out to greet them.
After shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries with officials like Hu Wenjun and Wang Rongshan, the ambassador, around fifty years old, extended his hand to Luo Ziling.
“I’ve heard about your achievents; you’ve perford excellently. I’m proud of you.”
After shaking hands with this Ambassador Luo Zhiwei, Luo Ziling smiled and said, “I was worried Ambassador Luo might bla , but it seems my worries were unfounded.”
“The Japanese did not protest, and they conceded voluntarily. You’re the hero of this visit. I’ll comnd you to our nation,” Luo Zhiwei said after gripping Luo Ziling’s hand firmly, then joked, “We both share the surna Luo, so we might be from the sa ancestral lineage. We’re proud to have soone outstanding like you in the Luo family.”
“Ambassador Luo, you jest,” Luo Ziling replied calmly, “The Japanese provoked us; naturally, we must retaliate. Only by subduing them can we prevent their arrogance. I rely did what any young Huaxia person ought to do; I don’t dare say I achieved any rit.”
“Haha, you’re still so modest,” Luo Zhiwei chuckled, patting Luo Ziling’s shoulder, “You’re so young yet perform so outstandingly—it’s embarrassing for us compared to you.”
After a brief pause, he lowered his voice, “I heard Ishihara Tarou invited you to his ho this afternoon?”
“Yes,” Luo Ziling did not deny it, “Originally, he planned to invite us to dinner tonight, but because of the embassy’s banquet, it was changed to afternoon tea.”
“It looks like the afternoon tea went well.”
“Indeed,” Luo Ziling nodded, “Ishihara Tarou’s ancestors ca to Japan during the Ming Dynasty due to the Japanese pirates. He might be a descendant of Huaxia people involved in piracy. It seems now that the Ishihara Family still retains so consciousness of their Huaxia heritage, though it’s uncertain if this is their true nature or deliberate.”
Luo Ziling didn’t discuss their cooperation with Luo Zhiwei, feeling it was a personal matter unrelated to the visit.
Luo Zhiwei didn’t press further, just patted Luo Ziling’s shoulder again with a smile, “We’ll talk later.”
As he released Luo Ziling’s hand, he whispered, “Your mother might be coming to Tokyo tomorrow.”
This surprised Luo Ziling. Ling Ruonan was really coming to Tokyo—why didn’t he know?
While Luo Zhiwei went over to greet Ouyang Feifei, Luo Ziling checked his phone, seeing no calls or ssages from Ling Ruonan, leaving him vexed. It seed Ling Ruonan’s relationship with Luo Zhiwei, or the connection between Luo Zhiwei and the Ling Family, wasn’t simple.
Luo Ziling’s guess was correct; Luo Zhiwei was connected to the Ling Family network, his promotion due to Ling Mingrui’s favor.
Having served as Ling Mingrui’s secretary before, he was familiar with Ling Ruonan.
Of course, Ambassador Luo had a strong impression of this Ling Family princess, understanding her status within the family.
But since Luo Ziling ca to Tokyo, he hadn’t given special attention, not knowing Luo Ziling was Ling Ruonan’s son.
Luo Zhiwei had been abroad and was unaware of most recent events. The embassy staff didn’t focus on dostic matters. As no one inford him of Luo Ziling, and without traveling back ho, he remained uninford.
It wasn’t until this afternoon, when Ling Ruonan called him, that he learned of the situation.
Luo Zhiwei planned to talk privately with Luo Ziling later. If Ling Ruonan arrived the next day, he’d then talk to her as well.
Diplomats conduct themselves differently from ordinary people, more tactfully, knowing how to gain favor without appearing to flatter.
Luo Zhiwei felt that as long as Ling Ruonan knew he gave special attention to Luo Ziling and comnded him, it would be enough. This way, no one would criticize him, while he gained Ling Ruonan’s favor.
As Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei walked into the embassy, he quietly asked her, “Did my mom tell you she’d co tomorrow?”
“No,” Ouyang Feifei shook her head, “Did she tell you she’d co tomorrow?”
“No,” Luo Ziling shook his head too, “I thought maybe she told you she’d co personally tomorrow to discuss cooperation with the Ishihara Family.”
“I’ll ask her tonight,” Ouyang Feifei replied aningfully, “If she cos tomorrow, I might stay in Tokyo for a few more days and not head to Seoul with you.”
“Looks like my mom’s more important than .”
Ouyang Feifei cast a sidelong glance at Luo Ziling without explaining further.
