Chapter 1944: Chapter 1944: Decision

“No,” Luo Ziling shook his head, “I can talk to Fang Dongxun about this matter. I’m sure he will relay it to Fang Zhonghua or Fang Xiang. Since everyone is driven by interests, asking them for so compensation isn’t a big deal.”

Ling Ruonan thought it over seriously but ultimately said nothing.

After a brief silence, she gently stroked Luo Ziling’s face and whispered, “You’re tired today, aren’t you? Go to bed first. We’ll discuss it tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Luo Ziling nodded and smiled at Ling Ruonan, “Mom, I think that those who should be worried aren’t us, but others. The eting is set to start the day after tomorrow, and those hoping to influence personnel arrangents must be feeling a bit anxious.”

Ling Ruonan hesitated before saying a few more words: “Tomorrow morning, I will talk to your grandfather about this. You don’t need to go; just give the recordings and videos, and I’ll pass them to your grandfather. Let him decide how to handle things. It’s also fine to let Ling Zhengmin handle Chen Jiahu. If our involvent in this matter remains undisclosed, that would be ideal. But the likelihood of that is slim!”

Luo Ziling saw from Ling Ruonan’s hesitant expression that her thoughts were quite complex, and she hadn’t yet figured out what to do. He didn’t say much more, just nodded in agreent: “Mom, I’ll follow your lead. Let’s think it over tonight to determine the most appropriate course of action.”

“Okay,” Ling Ruonan nodded, said nothing further, and returned to her room.

Luo Ziling was tired; after returning to his room, he fell asleep imdiately and woke up only after dawn.

When he woke up, he checked the ti—it was almost seven o’clock—so he got up quickly.

Luo Liansheng was chatting with Ling Ruonan, and they paused their conversation upon seeing him co downstairs.

“You’ll still go with to see your grandfather,” Ling Ruonan changed her mind, deciding to have Luo Ziling accompany her to et Ling Mingrui.

Luo Ziling glanced at Luo Liansheng. Seeing that his grandfather made no particular expression, he agreed.

After breakfast, the mother and son left together, heading directly to Ling Mingrui’s estate.

This ti, Ling Ruonan didn’t use her usual car. Instead, she opted for a discreet Audi A6. When heading out, the bodyguards in the escort vehicle implented counter-surveillance asures, ensuring no one followed them before proceeding to Ling Mingrui’s estate.

At this hour, the traffic wasn’t too congested, so they reached Ling Mingrui’s estate in about half an hour.

Seeing Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling arrive early in the morning, Ling Mingrui, who was about to go out, appeared sowhat surprised.

After exchanging a few pleasantries with her mother, Xie Enhua, Ling Ruonan got straight to the point with Ling Mingrui.

After Ling Ruonan explained that Chen Jiahu had confessed to orchestrating Ling Haihang’s murder and intended to fra the Fang Family and Yang Family, causing trouble for the Ling Family, Fang Family, and Yang Family, Ling Mingrui’s expression remained unchanged, as if he had anticipated this.

“This rumor was already circulating last night,” Ling Mingrui said calmly, looking at Ling Ruonan and then at Luo Ziling, “Did you spread the information?”

Ling Ruonan did not deny it, nodding lightly.

“It’s likely the Chen Family has already discovered Chen Jiahu’s disappearance.” Luo Ziling grinned, “Grandfather, how about letting Uncle Zhengmin deal with Chen Jiahu? His son was killed, and since the real culprit has been found, let him decide how to handle it.”

Ling Mingrui glared at Luo Ziling, knowing full well that Luo Ziling intended to burden Ling Zhengmin further by having him clean up the ss. Thus, he said a bit irritably, “Don’t complicate matters more than they already are.”

“Grandfather, I don’t intend to complicate matters further. I just hope this issue can be resolved quickly, restoring the Ling Family’s tarnished reputation, ensuring those responsible are punished promptly,” Luo Ziling said frankly, “Uncle Zhengmin has misunderstandings about . I think presenting him with the real culprit should clear up the misunderstanding.”

After thinking it over, Ling Mingrui refused Luo Ziling’s plan: “Hand Chen Jiahu over to the police and involve the judicial authorities. We can’t conduct private interrogations or torture; we must follow proper procedures.”

Luo Ziling wanted to say more, but Ling Ruonan signaled him with her eyes to stay silent.

“Dad, we’ll do as you say,” Ling Ruonan accepted on behalf of Luo Ziling.

At that mont, a staff mber reported that Ling Zhengmin requested a eting.

Though Ling Zhengmin’s status in the Ling Family wasn’t low, there was still a difference compared to Ling Ruonan, at least in front of Ling Mingrui.

Ling Ruonan could see Ling Mingrui without notice, but Ling Zhengmin had to seek his approval to enter.

Upon hearing the staff ntion Ling Zhengmin’s request, Ling Mingrui visibly frowned, appearing quite displeased, but ultimately didn’t refuse the eting.

“Let him in.”

Soon, Ling Zhengmin ca in quickly. He was slightly surprised to see Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling but still approached Ling Mingrui swiftly.

“Uncle, rumors say it’s the Chen Family who planned to kill Haihang—is this true?” Ling Zhengmin panted slightly, likely from rushing over.

“This matter is being investigated by the judicial authorities, results will co soon,” Ling Mingrui guessed Ling Zhengmin’s intent and firmly rejected it, “You shouldn’t get involved. Let the police handle it. Tomorrow’s eting is about to start; focus on preparing for that.”

Ling Mingrui’s words clearly deflated Ling Zhengmin, but after careful thought, he didn’t oppose further.

As he prepared to leave, he asked softly, “Is Chen Jiahu in our custody?”

“I’m not aware of that,” Ling Mingrui naturally knew what Ling Zhengmin suspected, but he didn’t confirm that Chen Jiahu was held by Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan, “I’ll assess the situation thoroughly later. I’m sure this will be resolved, and the instigator will pay the price.”

Ling Mingrui understood that Luo Ziling wanted to push the responsibility onto Ling Zhengmin, dragging the entire Ling Family into the fray while staying detached himself.

Ling Mingrui wouldn’t allow Luo Ziling to do so because it wasn’t worthwhile.

Ling Zhengmin nodded, reluctantly leaving.

After Ling Zhengmin left, Ling Mingrui said to Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan, “You two should go back and do what you need to do. Hand Chen Jiahu and the other people under your control to the police when the ti cos, and give them the evidence as well. Also, don’t stir things up in this matter, as causing more commotion won’t be good for anyone. I’ll handle seeking justice from the Chen Family and Fang Family.”

“Alright,” Ling Ruonan agreed and pulled Luo Ziling, who seed to want to say sothing, signaling him to stay quiet, “Ling’er, let’s go. Grandfather has work to do. Dad, we’ll leave now, and I’ll follow your instructions.”

“Be careful these days, don’t cause any trouble.” Ling Mingrui said no more and turned to go back inside.
