Capítulo 2039: Chapter 2039: Ling Ruonan’s Reminder

Luo Ziling naturally didn’t know what Ling Ruonan was thinking, or her expectations for him.

He attended the eting with the intention of figuring out what Chen Yihe was thinking.

Luo Ziling arrived at the teahouse where the two were eting two minutes earlier than the agreed ti of eight o’clock.

The eting place was chosen by Wuyue, a relatively quiet but upscale teahouse.

When Luo Ziling arrived, Chen Yihe was already there.

“Ziling, you’re here, sit down!” Chen Yihe quickly stood up when he saw Luo Ziling co in, and extended his hand to him. “I just t your mom a few days ago and talked a lot about you. You really are a remarkable person, far better than most people. In just over half a year, you’ve transford from an unknown figure into soone regularly talked about. That’s truly amazing.”

“Hello, Uncle,” Luo Ziling politely greeted him and then humbly said a few words, “Uncle, you’re giving too much credit. I’m just soone who, in my mom’s eyes, lazes around and often does nonsensical things. Many people find troubleso, and even I feel a bit out of sorts.”

“Haha, you’re too modest.” Chen Yihe patted Luo Ziling on the shoulder, gesturing for him to sit and talk. “In fact, I’ve wanted to invite you for tea for a long ti. But as you know, it’s not convenient to invite you, given the issues with the Chen Family. If others knew about it, we’d be in a difficult situation. I’m sure your grandfather has told you a bit about my father and our history. Back then, my father was sidelined by my grandfather for supporting your grandparents to be together, which ultimately led to his fall from grace.”

“I know,” Luo Ziling nodded, “I’m very grateful for the help your father gave my grandparents back then.”

“Recently, I’ve been keeping an eye on you, but I never imagined that you would be the one leading this incident. After finding out, I was truly impressed. Chen Yining and Chen Yijing actually stumbled in front of you; it was truly eye-opening.”

Chen Yihe’s straightforwardness surprised Luo Ziling.

He felt a strange sensation in his heart.

This Chen Yihe, does he seem a bit too blunt?

Consequently, Luo Ziling remained calm, humbly saying a few words before slowly sipping his tea.

Chen Yihe didn’t expect Luo Ziling to maintain his composure, which caught him by surprise.

He imdiately said, “In fact, those other people in the Chen Family brought this on themselves. They act so shalessly, disregarding family ties.”

“My grandfather also places great importance on family ties,” Luo Ziling interjected with a smile at Chen Yihe.

Luo Ziling didn’t say much more, which left Chen Yihe a bit at a loss as to how to continue the conversation.

He actually hoped that during their conversation, Luo Ziling would be very enthusiastic.

In Chen Yihe’s heart, he still felt that the Chen Family was quite powerful, and being from the Yanjing Chen Family, he held an exceptionally high position. Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling, in his mind, did not hold much clout.

Ling Ruonan’s status in his mind was much higher than that of Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling because Ling Ruonan was a daughter of the Ling Family.

So, even though he said many flattering things about Luo Ziling, he didn’t genuinely care about Luo Liansheng and Luo Ziling. But he held Ling Ruonan in high regard.

While speaking, he inadvertently revealed this mindset and displayed the Chen Family’s pride to Luo Ziling.

Sensing this underlying ssage and the air of superiority Chen Yihe occasionally exhibited, Luo Ziling felt uncomfortable.

However, he had learned to be patient and didn’t show it in his words.

Initially, Chen Yihe thought Luo Ziling was playing it cool because he spoke so little.

Eventually, he speculated that Luo Ziling might have so reservations about him, which was why he didn’t talk much.

So, he concluded that Luo Ziling respected him because he understood what Ling Ruonan and Luo Liansheng ant.

He didn’t hold back much, expressing many of his thoughts, hoping to impress Luo Ziling.

He told Luo Ziling that he had been preparing for a long ti, and his goal was to manage the Chen Family.

Now, with Chen Ruchang being suppressed, and the futures of Chen Yining and Chen Yijing almost nonexistent, he, as the rising star of the Chen Family, would undoubtedly step up to restore order.

He also boasted to Luo Ziling about his achievents over the years and the status he had attained in the Chen Family through his efforts.

Listening to this, Luo Ziling finally realized that Chen Yihe assud the current state of the Chen Family, coupled with so things Luo Liansheng and Ling Ruonan told him, ant they intended to support him in taking charge. The other families also hoped he could control the Chen Family.

Thus, Chen Yihe naively believed he would soon beco the head of the Chen Family.

Once he grasped this point, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but wonder.

If Chen Yihe was soone so unaware of boundaries, how could his grandfather Luo Liansheng and mother Ling Ruonan hold him in high regard?

Could it be that Chen Yihe presented himself differently in front of them compared to him?

With this question in mind, Luo Ziling beca more wary of Chen Yihe.

Throughout the conversation, he didn’t say much, mostly responding to Chen Yihe.

Around nine o’clock, he excused himself early, citing classes the next day as the reason.

Chen Yihe didn’t expect Luo Ziling to leave voluntarily, showing so displeasure on his face. However, he didn’t express much verbally and simply ntioned that they could chat again when there was an opportunity.

Upon returning ho, Luo Ziling saw Ling Ruonan still busy in the study and imdiately went over to talk.

“You’re back?” Ling Ruonan looked up and greeted him when Luo Ziling entered. “Sit down and tell about your impression of the chat with Chen Yihe!”

“Mom, I think Chen Yihe isn’t soone who can accomplish great things. If we help him, it might not achieve anything,” Luo Ziling directly expressed his doubts. “Didn’t you have the sa impression?”

“You think Chen Yihe won’t achieve great things?” Ling Ruonan smiled, “Tell more about your feelings!”

Luo Ziling honestly shared his impressions, emphasizing once more that he had a bad feeling about Chen Yihe.

“In a couple of days, interact with Chen Yiping,” Ling Ruonan didn’t comnt on what Luo Ziling said but smiled and said, “After eting Chen Yiping, tell us who you think is more promising between the two brothers.”

“Alright!” Luo Ziling agreed, “I’ll find an opportunity to chat with Chen Yiping.”

“You don’t need to seek him out; he’ll definitely look for you, though it won’t be openly!” Ling Ruonan took off her non-prescription glasses and said seriously, “If we collaborate with a very clever person, one day he might manipulate us. Keep that in mind, and you’ll understand our intention.”

Ling Ruonan’s words made Luo Ziling instantly realize.
