Capítulo 2118: Chapter 2118: This Is a Conspiracy

After taking a look around, Luo Ziling discovered that there weren’t many people here. Even sitting in this semi-enclosed booth, he wouldn’t be easily seen by others, and people nearby couldn’t really hear their conversation. With no one in the adjacent booths, he felt slightly relieved.

After sitting down, Luo Ziling asked Wang Feiyang, “You sounded so urgent when you called , what’s the important matter?”

“It’s not really that urgent,” Wang Feiyang said with a smile, stirring the coffee in front of her, “I ntioned that I had nothing to do tonight, so I thought of inviting you for a late-night snack and discussing so things. The matter is indeed quite important, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be discussed tonight.”

“Liar!” Luo Ziling gritted his teeth and snorted.

Wang Feiyang chuckled, “Don’t be mad. I’m treating you to a late-night snack; you have to give so face. Many guys want to invite , but I don’t give them any face.”

“You make it sound like I’m honored.” Luo Ziling looked reluctant. “You should know, I’m very busy. When you called, I was on my way to teach my disciples acupuncture skills. Which skills? Taiyi Divine Needle—a long-lost magical technique. Many want to learn, but I only accept the best. I just finished teaching them and hurried over for your appointnt. And you tricked . It really pisses off.”

“You’re indeed a busy person, as busy as my dad and your grandfather,” Wang Feiyang giggled again, “But I truly admire you. At such a young age, you’ve beco the head of a national lab and received an administrative appointnt. You’re also leading the establishnt of Yan University’s traditional dicine program—it completely surprises people.”

Without waiting for Luo Ziling to respond, Wang Feiyang continued, “You’re still a student, a freshman no less, and yet you’ve changed your identity to oversee the lab and program developnt. This is likely unprecedented and unparalleled.”

“You’re wrong,” Luo Ziling corrected seriously, “Being my age and overseeing such things isn’t necessarily unprecedented.”

After taking a sip of tea, Luo Ziling continued seriously, “In the 1920s and 30s, many young people took on significant roles. Ye Gongchao was a lecturer in Peking University’s English departnt at 22 and headed Jinan University’s foreign literature departnt at 23, also teaching British literature at Wusong Public School. Liang Shuming was 25, Hu Shi, Liu Bannong, and Liu Wendian were 27 when they beca professors at Peking University. The famous painter Xu Beihong was 23 when appointed as the ntor at the painting research society.”

“That was a special era, with unique circumstances unlike now,” Wang Feiyang smiled and shook her head, “I an, under our current system, with strict title requirents and unique administrative structures, it’s extrely rare for soone your age to hold such an important position.”

“Central South University’s third-year student Liu Lu was hired as a full professor-level researcher at 22. You can search online for his information,” Luo Ziling smiled, “I’m 21 this year, close in age to him, but I haven’t received any titles. My administrative appointnt only tasks with overseeing affairs, without an actual position. So, I’m truly not special.”

“Liu Lu? Is there really soone so remarkable?” Wang Feiyang was greatly surprised and actually pulled out her phone to research this person.

Luo Ziling’s references to historical figures like Hu Shi, Liu Wendian, and Xu Beihong were well-known to her.

That was a true era of flourishing talent, where those with ability and knowledge could quickly rise.

Peking University at that ti had many young professors.

And those young professors were genuinely talented.

Though tis progress, many things have faded.

Wang Feiyang quickly found Liu Lu’s information and was greatly surprised after reading the introduction.

What Luo Ziling said wasn’t wrong; such a prodigy indeed existed.

Luo Ziling actually learned about Liu Lu through others before researching his achievents.

When he was assigned to manage the lab and new program, so people thought he was too young and didn’t fit the rules, so Liu Lu’s case was brought up. Luo Ziling ca to know about it and used it to respond to Wang Feiyang today.

As Wang Feiyang checked the information, Luo Ziling asked again, “Why did you want to et today? Can you talk about it now?”

“I want to join the lab activities. I don’t know much about traditional dicine, but I understand other fields, such as administrative managent and economics. Could you arrange a position for ?” Wang Feiyang put down her phone and directly made her request.

Surprised by Wang Feiyang’s request, Luo Ziling was relieved.

But instead of imdiately affirming or denying, he dodged, saying, “I haven’t looked into the details yet, like the number of people needed or the type of expertise required. This still needs discussion with the school leadership. Once I talk with them, I’ll get back to you.”

“Alright, let know after you discuss it,” Hearing no rejection, Wang Feiyang breathed a sigh of relief.

She continued chatting with Luo Ziling about another important topic.

Mostly, they talked about her future plans and possible collaboration with Luo Ziling.

After listening, Luo Ziling didn’t provide any specific response.

Near 11:30, they left the café.

As they were leaving, Wang Feiyang playfully said to Luo Ziling, “Mind if I use your arm? Sitting too long made my legs numb!”

After speaking, she didn’t wait for Luo Ziling’s response and hooked her arm around his.

Luo Ziling thought for a mont and didn’t refuse.

After walking a short distance arm-in-arm with Luo Ziling, Wang Feiyang let go.

After seeing Wang Feiyang back to school, Luo Ziling directly headed to Ling Ruonan’s villa.

But just as he got out of the car, he received a call from Luo Yuqing.

Unexpectedly, Luo Yuqing called him this late, causing Luo Ziling to instantly feel sothing ominous.

“Did you have a date with Wang Feiyang tonight?” Luo Yuqing demanded angrily once the call connected. “How can you be so unfaithful? Even Wang Feiyang, soone you shouldn’t ss with, you try to seduce? You’ve really caused trouble now.”

“What’s going on?” Though he suspected Luo Yuqing’s late-night call wasn’t for anything good, hearing her furious rebuke made Luo Ziling anxious.

“There are several posts on the school forum about you and Wang Feiyang dating. Photos of her holding your arm have also been uploaded.” After patiently explaining, Luo Yuqing scolded again, “If you’re going to seduce soone, why not go for Dai Shulan, who might actually be within reach? Being so close with Wang Feiyang, you’re just seeking to ruin your reputation!”

Hearing this, Luo Ziling’s heart sank.

When he first t Wang Feiyang tonight and saw her choose a semi-enclosed booth, he felt a bit uneasy.

His concern was precisely about being seen while eting Wang Feiyang and stirring scandal.

Yet, seeing few people around, he let his guard down.

When leaving the café, Wang Feiyang hooked his arm, and he didn’t refuse.

Unexpectedly, it really caused trouble.

This was a conspiracy, an event planned by Wang Feiyang—Luo Ziling’s imdiate judgnt.
