Chapter 2171: Chapter 2171: Real-World Problems
Seeing Luo Ziling agree, and doing so with such ease, Cao Jianhui was very surprised.
He suspected that Luo Ziling was just giving him the brush-off, glossing over the issue.
Luo Ziling noticed his doubt and added, “I’ll ntion your father’s situation to my grandfather. It’s best if you tell your father’s condition and his accomplishnts over the years, so I can make a better case!”
“Alright!” With that, Cao Jianhui no longer had any doubts and agreed readily, “I’ll put together a report tonight and send it to your WeChat.”
Luo Ziling nodded.
“When the ti cos, I’ll have my parents co over to thank you. Regardless of whether it works out or not, we need to thank you!” Cao Jianhui spoke sincerely. “Or you could co to my ho for a visit. How about it? Haha, I’ve been to your place, so it’s only fair you check out mine.”
“You’re being too polite!” Luo Ziling shook his head, “I’m willing to help you, and I’m not looking for thanks. We’re roommates, and you’re the first friend I made here. If I don’t help you, then who would I help? If we focus on petty formalities, then I’d doubt our friendship! Let’s et your parents another ti.”
Cao Jianhui was overjoyed and gave Luo Ziling a hearty slap on the shoulder, “Then I owe you one. If you ever need anything, I’ll be at your service!”
“Once you graduate or are in a position to get things done, maybe we can collaborate.” Luo Ziling shared more than he initially intended, “To be honest, what I lack most right now are capable people. I won’t hide it; my biggest wish is to elevate our Luo Family into the upper echelons, but I lack the manpower.”
Cao Jianhui looked at Luo Ziling in surprise and then extended his hand, “If you trust , put to use. I promise to be your most loyal partner.”
Luo Ziling reached out, gave Cao Jianhui a solid high-five, and then they held their handshakes firmly.
Cao Jianhui chuckled, and Luo Ziling smiled as well.
At that mont, Wu Longjiang and Li Fuming returned after placing their orders.
The two imdiately dropped the topic, steering the conversation back to school matters.
The four of them talked about changing majors again, and Luo Ziling assured them he would do his utmost to apply on their behalf.
Right in front of the three, Luo Ziling called Wu Mingyun.
Wu Mingyun was surprised to receive a call from Luo Ziling at such a late hour and expressed his curiosity as soon as he picked up.
“Ziling, Mr. Luo, what’s up calling so late?”
“So classmates requested a favor, and I’ve been busy these past few days and forgot to tell you.” Luo Ziling explained about Cao Jianhui and the others wanting to change their major to study traditional dicine under him.
After listening to Luo Ziling, Wu Mingyun thought for a mont and replied, “The school shouldn’t have an issue with that, but it’s unclear if their families would consent. After all, they’re not yet fully independent adults, and this life-changing decision has to have their family’s approval. Have them discuss it with their families. If the families agree, they can transfer to the traditional dicine program next sester. However, the traditional dicine program doesn’t have a second-year option; they’ll have to start as freshn again.”
“That shouldn’t be a problem. As long as their academics are up to par, they can get their diplomas early.” Luo Ziling also promised Wu Mingyun, “Although I’m the one managing their transfer and teaching them, I’ll ensure to maintain strict standards. If they fail to et my expectations, they won’t get their diplomas. To earn it, they must pass our evaluations without fail, so don’t worry.”
“Alright then, I’ll give the relevant people a heads-up about this. Let them submit their applications themselves. If any other students want to change majors, have them discuss it with their parents and apply together!” Wu Mingyun said, laughing, “If anyone wants to join, it’s a good thing. It shows traditional dicine still has its appeal!”
“I won’t ddle with other people’s affairs, just us three in the dorm. I live with them and know them inside out; I believe they have the potential to succeed.” Luo Ziling didn’t say much more, thanked Wu Mingyun, and ended the call.
When Luo Ziling was on the phone, Cao Jianhui, Wu Longjiang, and Li Fuming huddled by his side to listen.
They heard every word from Wu Mingyun clearly.
The dean agreed, and of course, they were overjoyed.
With Wu Mingyun personally agreeing to look into the matter and Luo Ziling willing to accept them, no one could stop their major change.
“Boss, thank you so much for your help.” Cao Jianhui opened a few bottles of beer, placed one in front of Luo Ziling, took one himself, and said boldly, “I toast to you. You are our idol. We can’t reach your heights, we can only strive to follow your lead. I hope we four musketeers in our dorm can make our dreams a reality and achieve sothing great!”
Wu Longjiang and Li Fuming also picked up their beers, clinked bottles, and drank them down in one go.
They had already consud quite a bit of alcohol at dinner, and the effects hadn’t fully worn off.
Enjoying a late-night snack and drinking enthusiastically, they quickly beca inebriated.
After drinking four bottles, Cao Jianhui put an arm around Luo Ziling’s shoulder, slurring his words to the other two, “I’ve already decided to pledge myself to Boss, sticking with him in whatever we do. You two should seize the chance to latch onto Boss’s thigh while you can, or you’ll miss out. Soon, we’ll be founding ministers, worthy of the Lingyan Pavilion.”
As a result, Wu Longjiang and Li Fuming, also drunk, ca over to hug Luo Ziling’s legs.
Each holding one leg, they burped and declared themselves Luo Ziling’s followers, ready to charge into battle for him.
Luo Ziling found the situation both amusing and exasperating.
Three lovable fools!
However, he didn’t refuse to take in these three lovable fools.
At least after almost a year of interaction, he hadn’t found anything intolerable about any of them.
Moreover, all three had decent IQ and EQ, especially Cao Jianhui.
If they truly dedicate themselves to him in the future, coupled with their influential parents, they might beco key players under him.
Wasn’t he lacking people around him?
Therefore, Luo Ziling readily agreed to be their “Big Brother.”
Currently, he had gathered quite a few won around him, but useful n were scarce.
Many tasks were better handled by n, so he needed to recruit more trustworthy male friends.
With a well-understood background, untainted by society, nurturing these three dorm friends should be easier.
Having braved battles together, studied under the sa roof, shared spoils, and consorted with won—these are the four great iron bonds of life, and schoolmate ties are but one of them.
Combine friendship with shared interests, and their loyalty is assured.
