When Luo Ziling went inside, the elderly lady was still grumbling about how staying here didn’t feel right and she wanted to go back to her hotown.
No one was there to take care of her chickens, ducks, sheep, and dogs, and she didn’t know what state the crops in the field were in.
With less than a month to go, the early rice needs harvesting, and she wasn’t sure about the situation with the late rice seedlings.
Huang Chen felt quite helpless about his mother’s complaints.
Seeing Luo Ziling co in, the elderly lady was quite happy, after all, Luo Ziling and his grandfather were there to help her with treatnt.

Seeing Luo Ziling looking so tired, Huang Chen felt a bit embarrassed.
“It’s nothing!” Looking at the already asleep elderly lady, Luo Ziling smiled and said, “For a healer, the recovery of the patient is the greatest achievent and the best reward.”
“No matter what, thank you very much!” Huang Chen expressed his gratitude sincerely.
Luo Ziling smiled again, “Get sothing to eat, let’s have a cup of tea later, and I’ll talk to you about your mom’s condition and the follow-up treatnt plan.”
Huang Chen nodded, prepared so fruits and snacks for Luo Ziling, and made him a cup of tea.
The helper was sent by Huang Chen to buy groceries, leaving just the sleeping elderly lady and the two n in the house.
The house Huang Chen rented for his mother is a two-bedroom, one living room apartnt, and the monthly rent wasn’t cheap either.
Glancing at the simple furnishings, Luo Ziling sighed, “Why doesn’t your mom want to live with you?”
Huang Chen replied with a wry smile, “My mom knows our place isn’t very spacious, and she’s also afraid my wife will look down on her for being from the countryside, so she doesn’t want to stay with us. Plus, our place is a bit far and inconvenient to access, so we let her rent a place here. It’s not far from our old ho, so I can co quickly if anything happens.”

“If you really leave, where are you planning to go?”
Huang Chen knew Luo Ziling would ask this and gave another wry smile, “I don’t even know where I could go. My ideal is to join the military to lead so troops; if there’s a chance to get promoted, that’d be best. After all, my dream is to be a lifelong professional soldier. However, to be a career soldier, one must advance in rank and position. If I can’t rise above the position of colonel, I’ll eventually have to take off the uniform.”
Luo Ziling looked a bit puzzled, “Aren’t you considering the headquarters or the Yanjing War Zone?”
