Luo Yuqing nodded: "I think so too!"
Luo Ziling asked again: "So how is the investigation going now?"
"I only found out about this yesterday." Luo Yuqing tore at the bun in her hand with a bit of frustration and said bitterly, "My mom hadn't told about it before, so I had no idea she was collaborating on these projects with the Li Family. She thought she was very smart and had a good relationship with Wu Yinghua, so she could make a decent profit, and therefore she worked with them."
"And the other partners?"
Luo Yuqing ntioned a few nas, but Luo Ziling hadn't heard of any of them.
"This matter is currently under investigation. I don't have the energy or the ability to get involved in the investigation, and my mom also seems unwilling to let get involved. Recently, she's been working hard to raise money to fill the gap before addressing the situation. She seems to regret it too and says she'll never work with the Li Family again. Overall, she lost at least thirty million on this matter!"
"How about I get a few people to investigate this for you?" Luo Ziling thought seriously for a mont, then gently suggested to Luo Yuqing, "The money you asked for, I'll have Wuyue transfer it to the account you designate. If you need more, just let know. And you shouldn't get involved in this matter to avoid getting entangled."
Luo Yuqing thought it over and nodded gently, agreeing with Luo Ziling's suggestion.
"I feel like this isn't so simple." At this point, Luo Yuqing hesitated but decided to voice her concern: "I also suspect my brother Li Xiaoqing was involved in this."
Hearing Luo Yuqing say this, Luo Ziling's eyebrows furrowed instantly: "You an your brother tead up with others to scam your mom's money?"
Luo Yuqing hesitated for a mont but eventually nodded.
"I think my mom suspects this too, which is why she doesn't plan to make a big deal out of it. She just considers it as giving all the money to my brother!" Luo Yuqing sighed heavily, "Last night, I went ho and asked my mom about it. She didn't want to say much, only that this much money was missing, and asked if I could raise it."
"So it was your mom who asked for this money!" Luo Ziling grew more suspicious that there might be more to this than ets the eye, "Have you considered the possibility that your mom and your brother are colluding to scam you?"
"No way!" Luo Yuqing shook her head resolutely, "My mom would never do that, but my brother might be the one trying to harm his sister."
"It seems my brother is better than your other brother!" Luo Ziling laughed smugly, "Looks like you aren't very clear about this matter yourself."
Luo Yuqing looked aggrieved: "Of course, I just found out last night. It's impossible to figure everything out in one night."
Luo Ziling studied Luo Yuqing closely for two more glances before laughing, "It seems you slept well last night and didn't suffer from insomnia over this."
"Didn't sleep well, only looked better after a run just now." Luo Yuqing hesitated a little and said, "Can you not tell your mom about this for now, okay?"
Luo Ziling knew Luo Yuqing was afraid of being seen as inadequate by Ling Ruonan and didn't want her own mother, Wu Ningjing, to be looked down on or blad by Ling Ruonan, hence the request.
He nodded gently: "I'll try not to tell her, but if she finds out, we should explain things to her, perhaps she can also help out a bit."
After thinking it over, Luo Yuqing finally nodded.
Luo Ziling asked again: "Do you have much contact with Li Xiaoqing? Know who he's been associating with?"
"Not very clear!" Luo Yuqing shook her head, "These past few months, I've been busy with other things and haven't had the ti to manage him, nor do I know his affairs. However, he used to often associate with so shady people and did quite a few disgusting things. My mom couldn't control him, though he feared a bit, but since getting to know you all, he doesn't fear anymore."
"Then I'll have soone investigate your brother's activities. If it turns out he indeed played a role in underhanded behavior, it would be best to teach him a lesson; otherwise, it will beco more and more unruly in the future." Fearing Luo Yuqing might be upset, Luo Ziling quickly added, "To thoroughly investigate this matter, we'll also be investigating his activities unless he wasn't involved!"
Luo Yuqing nodded and agreed with Luo Ziling: "Yes, his situation should be investigated. If he really scamd my mom to retaliate against , I need to discipline him properly."
It took the siblings over half an hour to finish breakfast.
Both were prominent figures at the university, so those who saw them having breakfast together in the cafeteria looked at them curiously. Most people knew Luo Ziling and Luo Yuqing were siblings, but the new students were unaware. So quick-witted individuals imdiately speculated that the two celebrities might be dating, snapped so photos, and excitedly posted them on social dia.
Soon enough, though, others chastised them, calling them ignorant for showing off their lack of knowledge.
Luo Ziling and Luo Yuqing didn't mind the attention they received during breakfast. After discussing matters, they each went back to wash up.
Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang still stayed in the original dorm, but since the dorm was quite far from the traditional dicine departnt area, they had to get up very early.
By the ti Luo Ziling finished breakfast and returned to the dorm to shower, the three guys were already up and washing up.
Seeing Luo Ziling return, the three guys looked at him as if he were an alien.
"Why are you still coming back here?" Cao Jianhui pointed to Luo Ziling's bed, "We were planning to help you pack up your things so you could move out more conveniently."
"Why should I move out of the dorm?" Luo Ziling wondered.
"We're all getting ready to change dorms, are you planning to stay here alone?" Cao Jianhui looked surprised.
"Okay, then I'll have soone co pack up my stuff, I won't live here anymore." Luo Ziling chuckled, "Anyway, they'll arrange a dorm on the other side."
"Don't bother arranging a dorm, it's a waste, you only stay a few days a sester anyway," Wu Longjiang said a bit discontentedly, "I figure in the future you won't live with us anymore, our statuses are different now."
"Sa, sa, we're still good buddies!" Luo Ziling threw his arms around Cao Jianhui and Li Fuming's shoulders and patted Wu Longjiang on the shoulder, "If you're moving, take my stuff with you. No matter what, I'll need a bed just in case I need a place to sleep and can squeeze with you guys."
Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang burst out in laughter and teasing again.
After showering and a quick cleanup, Luo Ziling called Wuyue to co over. He instructed Wuyue to find a couple of people to properly investigate the situation Luo Yuqing ntioned and to transfer ten million to Luo Yuqing, but not to let Ling Ruonan know.
Feeling a bit sullen, Wuyue said to Luo Ziling, "Master, ten million is no small amount. I don't think it's appropriate to transfer the money without thoroughly understanding the situation first."
Wuyue didn't have a great impression of Luo Yuqing, hence did not support Luo Ziling's decision.
