After handling all matters of the Northern Group, Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan went to Ling Mingrui.
Ling Mingrui ca ho quite early today.
When Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan went over, he was already back, sitting in the courtyard drinking tea.
The sun had already set, dinner was being prepared in the kitchen, and during this twilight ti, Ling Mingrui wanted to enjoy a cup of tea.
Ling Mingrui didn't know that Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan would visit.
However, mother and son frequently visited during this ti, so Ling Mingrui wasn't surprised.
"Play a ga of chess with after dinner." Ling Mingrui made a direct request after Luo Ziling sat down.
"No problem!" Luo Ziling agreed readily.
Ling Mingrui inviting him to play chess was a sign of affection, at least in Luo Ziling's mind.
Of course, Ling Ruonan felt the sa way.
After a few idle conversations, Ling Ruonan gave Luo Ziling a look, indicating for him to talk directly about the matter.
Once Luo Ziling understood Ling Ruonan's intention, he spoke of the matter.
Ling Mingrui frowned slightly after hearing, then gently nodded: "I understand!"
Seeing Ling Mingrui's lack of special reaction, Ling Ruonan was a bit surprised.
"Dad, what's he going to do?" Ling Ruonan said angrily, "What's his purpose?"
"Ask him what the purpose is, I'll have him co here later." Ling Mingrui still appeared calm and relaxed.
Ling Ruonan hesitated, quickly realizing that Ling Mingrui wasn't dismissing her but was not surprised Ling Zhengping would do such a thing.
Ling Mingrui inviting Ling Zhengping to confront them was actually a way of giving her and Luo Ziling an explanation.
Many things can be directly clarified.
After she nodded, she didn't express much.
During dinner, Ling Mingrui asked Xie Enhua to call Ling Zhengping and have him co over tonight.
Xie Enhua obediently called Ling Zhengping, but he said he was busy tonight and couldn't co.
"This is your father's wish." Xie Enhua was a bit angry, "Ruonan and Ziling are here; they want to talk to you, co over as soon as you can."
Ling Zhengping on the other end hesitated for a while before finally agreeing to co over.
About an hour later, when Luo Ziling and Ling Mingrui were halfway through their second ga of chess, Ling Zhengping arrived.
Ling Mingrui had him sit and observe the ga.
Ling Zhengping glanced at Ling Mingrui and Luo Ziling playing chess and then at Ling Ruonan, who sat expressionless observing the ga, and finally sat down.
"I lost!" Seeing Ling Zhengping arrive, Luo Ziling was ready to concede defeat.
Discussing the matter sooner ans finishing sooner and leaving, avoiding staying at Ling Mingrui's place.
"Play properly, don't speak carelessly!" The situation still favored Luo Ziling, so Ling Mingrui disagreed with him conceding.
Seeing Ling Mingrui like this, Luo Ziling had to continue making moves.
Ultimately, Luo Ziling lost the ga because he was sowhat distracted.
Ling Mingrui rarely won against Luo Ziling, so after winning with a significant advantage, he seed quite happy.
Seeing Ling Mingrui won a ga and looked very pleased, Ling Zhengping couldn't help but slightly frown.
Ling Mingrui took one look at Ling Zhengping, then instructed Luo Ziling: "Clean up."
Luo Ziling nodded and started to tidy up the chess pieces.
"Did you instigate the assassination of Chen Yijing and then fra Ziling?" Ling Mingrui asked Ling Zhengping directly, "I want to know what exactly you're up to?"
Ling Mingrui asking this made Ling Zhengping's eyelids twitch, wearing an undeniable expression.
"Dad, why do you say this about ?" He replied furiously, then pointed at Luo Ziling: "You believe whatever he says?"
"Do you want to be confronted again, humiliated again?" Ling Mingrui coldly looked at Ling Zhengping, "If you want to be humiliated, go ahead and call soone to confront."
Ling Zhengping opened his mouth but didn't say anything impulsively in the end.
He understood that since his father would say this, it certainly wasn't baseless. If he remained stubborn, it would only make resolving things more difficult.
However, he still shot a venomous glance at Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling ignored Ling Zhengping, seriously tidying up the chess pieces, then putting the chessboard and chess box back in the cabinet.
After putting things away, Luo Ziling sat back beside Ling Ruonan and then glanced at Ling Zhengping.
When he looked at Ling Zhengping, he chuckled.
Luo Ziling's chuckle nearly made Ling Zhengping jump up in anger.
"Uncle, if you want to see evidence, I can provide all the evidence, and even hand over the people involved." Seeing Ling Ruonan remain silent and Ling Mingrui only sipping tea, Luo Ziling proactively initiated the topic: "Actually, we didn't co today to confront you; we just wanted to have dinner with grandfather and grandmother."
"Brother, I want to know, what on earth is your purpose?" Ling Ruonan continued, "Last ti, we promised in front of mom and dad not to plot against each other. I've strictly kept my promise, but what about you? You had soone try to assassinate Chen Yijing and then bla us; what exactly do you want?"
Though Ling Ruonan made this statent calmly, her words still conveyed an unmistakable sense of anger.
"What exactly are you trying to do?" Before Ling Zhengping could answer, Ling Mingrui questioned as well.
Ling Zhengping opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say.
"Even if you succeed, what do you think you'll gain?" Ling Mingrui angrily said, "If everyone believes that mother and son want to kill Chen Yijing, do you think our Ling Family will benefit from it? Don't you see it will bring huge trouble to our Ling Family?"
Saying this, Ling Mingrui displayed an incredibly powerful aura.
Ling Zhengping didn't dare look at Ling Mingrui but still remained silent.
"Uncle's interactions with Chen Yijing weren't few!" Luo Ziling interjected once more: "In these past months, there have been quite a few interactions each month. I'm worried it's a ploy by uncle and Chen Yijing to trap us."
"Is this true?" Ling Mingrui's expression changed, turning to Luo Ziling, "Are you not speaking nonsense?"
"How would I dare speak nonsense?" Luo Ziling shook his head, "If grandfather and uncle want evidence, I can imdiately have them sent over."
"You're surveilling ?" Ling Zhengping gritted his teeth, glaring at Luo Ziling, "You all actually have soone surveilling !"
"We don't have the capability to surveil such a high-level leader as you!" Ling Ruonan said with a cold smile on her face, "It's just that you're too careless in your actions, leaving traces behind. I never imagined that you'd want your own sister and nephew dead; you, as a brother and uncle, are truly great."
Ling Ruonan's deanor caused both Ling Mingrui and Ling Zhengping's expressions to change.
