Chapter 299: An Embarrassed Luo Ziling
Lin Lan finally stopped in her tracks and did not pursue further.
She approached Luo Ziling with a murderous air and glared at him unkindly.
Luo Ziling quickly stopped laughing and took the lead, heading toward the direction of Lin Lan’s apartnt.
But to his surprise, Lin Lan didn’t follow and instead remained standing in the sa spot.
The stationary Lin Lan still looked at him fiercely, as if Luo Ziling had callously seduced and abandoned her.
“What’s wrong?” Luo Ziling turned back again, “If you don’t want to rest at your place, then forget it, just send back.”
Lin Lan glared at Luo Ziling once more and wordlessly strode ahead.
Luo Ziling hurried to keep up.
Once inside Lin Lan’s room, Luo Ziling dropped his bag and plopped down on the sofa. “I’m exhausted. Every ti I co here, I feel totally drained. What’s hateful is that so won always have a long face, as if I owe them sothing.”
The disquieted Lin Lan, who had been looking for soone to take her anger out on, was clearly taken aback by what Luo Ziling said.
After a mont of shock, she walked up to Luo Ziling silently, staring at him with her beautiful but emotionless big eyes without blinking.
Luo Ziling was startled and imdiately got up from the sofa, “What? Do you want to fight?”
“Rest for a while, I’ll get lunch. Later, we’ll practice shooting and combat skills. If you want to take a shower, wait until after we’ve practiced,” Lin Lan said, and without waiting for Luo Ziling’s reaction, she strode out.
Luo Ziling then breathed a sigh of relief and lay back on the sofa.
“This woman, she seed really angry just now,” Luo Ziling couldn’t help remarking.
Actually, he himself didn’t know why he had thought of touching Lin Lan’s face just then; it seed to be an impulsive gesture.
Seeing her trying to look cool with her pretty face all tense, Luo Ziling always couldn’t resist the urge to touch it, wanting to smooth out her furrowed expression, not with any intention of being frivolous or teasing her. He was willing to swear that he really hadn’t thought about taking liberties with Lin Lan.
When she undressed for him to treat her injuries, he hadn’t taken any liberties, let alone now.
What he hadn’t anticipated was that this touch on her face was seen by her comrade-in-arms.
Luo Ziling felt quite embarrassed; he believed that Lin Lan was definitely furious at that mont.
Perhaps Lin Lan didn’t mind being touched on the face by him, as there were many other parts of her body he had touched; the face wasn’t considered a very significant part anymore.
The crux of the issue was that soone had seen it.
And that damned Falcon had even excitedly yelled out, no wonder Lin Lan was murderous.
An unconscious little action of his had damaged Lin Lan’s reputation—Luo Ziling felt very guilty and decided he had to make it up to her sohow.
After Lin Lan returned carrying a bunch of food, Luo Ziling, determined to make ands, quickly asked in an ingratiating tone, “How’s your injury healing?”
“Not so great,” Lin Lan responded stiffly.
“Did sothing else happen?” Luo Ziling was alard.
“No,” Lin Lan replied, still as unfriendly as before.
“Do you need to check again to see if you need treatnt?” While speaking, Luo Ziling lifted a bottle, “This is a whole bottle of Golden Healing Powder, the sa dicine I used to treat you before. It’s very precious, and the raw materials are quite expensive. Take it, you might need it later.”
Handing over a large bottle of his homade Golden Healing Powder, Luo Ziling felt a twinge of pain, but in order not to anger Lin Lan, he went all out.
After all, it was he who had brought her trouble and tarnished her reputation.
Lin Lan thought for a mont and finally took the bottle of dicine, then turned around and walked back into the room.
Luo Ziling thought she had put in the bottle of Golden Healing Powder and didn’t pay much attention, taking out his lunch box to eat lunch.
But after gobbling down a few bites, he hadn’t seen Lin Lan co out, which made him quite curious.
“Aren’t you coming to eat?” he couldn’t help but call into the room.
“Didn’t you want to see how my injury is recovering?” Lin Lan’s voice ca from the room.
“Ah?!” Luo Ziling was stunned, not expecting Lin Lan to go into the room for that reason.
He hurriedly put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a napkin twice, and walked into the room.
But he saw Lin Lan had already taken off her outer clothing and was only wearing a bra, causing Luo Ziling to feel awkward for a mont.
Yet he still had to steel himself to check on her injury, forcing himself not to look at the tempting parts of Lin Lan’s body during the process. It took a lot of willpower, and Luo Ziling nearly didn’t manage it.
“The recovery is good, but not as good as expected; you haven’t been taking care of it properly.” To cover his embarrassnt, Luo Ziling nonetheless “criticized” Lin Lan, after which he reminded her, “No matter the circumstances, if you’re injured, you need to take care of yourself properly. That’s the only way to recover well.”
Lin Lan ignored what Luo Ziling said and asked indifferently, “Do you need to check the injury on my leg?”
“I don’t need to check to know it’s definitely worse than this,” Luo Ziling said with a wry smile, “You almost wasted my good dicine.”
“Does it need another surgery?”
“No need,” seeing that Lin Lan’s expression had eased slightly, Luo Ziling smiled and shook his head, “Though it’s a bit worse than expected, it’s not too bad. In a few more months, it should be completely unnoticeable.”
“That’s good,” Lin Lan said, picking up her clothes and beginning to put them on with her back turned.
When Lin Lan turned around, her slender waistline still drew Luo Ziling’s gaze a few tis.
Luo Ziling wasn’t sure if it was his offering of the dicine or his show of concern, but Lin Lan’s expression had beco much softer.
At least during lunch and while teaching Luo Ziling how to shoot, she didn’t give him the cold shoulder.
Luo Ziling was feeling much better shooting today than yesterday, and he even fired a few more rounds than tomorrow.
Out of the full twenty rounds he fired, he only missed one shot, and his best score was a bullseye.
Of course, hitting the bullseye was a fluke, and not to say his marksmanship improved so rapidly.
After shooting practice, Lin Lan also taught Luo Ziling so combat skills.
Military combat techniques are indeed fierce, at least in terms of moves, all designed to kill, aid at delivering a fatal blow with a single strike.
The area where Luo Ziling was better than them was the speed of his attacks; nobody could strike faster than him, not even the team leader Falcon. However, in terms of the lethality of the moves, Luo Ziling was far behind those of Dragon Rise.
Luo Ziling believed that if he mastered the killing techniques of the special forces, his chances of winning when engaging the enemy would be even higher.
The two did not spar; Lin Lan only explained the techniques to Luo Ziling.
After explaining the techniques, Lin Lan used the excuse of having a mission in the afternoon to send Luo Ziling back.
During the ride, although Lin Lan didn’t talk much, her face was no longer tense, which also relieved Luo Ziling.
When Luo Ziling got back to school, he received a call from Chen Wanqing.
“Ziling, I’m planning to start tutoring you in English. Do you have ti?”
Luo Ziling checked the ti and hesitated before answering, “I’m free this afternoon, but I have sothing going on in the evening.”
Chen Wanqing on the other end of the phone also hesitated for a mont, but then quickly agreed, “Okay then, this afternoon it is. Why don’t you co over now? It’s better at my place.”
“Alright, I’ll co over in half an hour.” Luo Ziling was quite grateful for Chen Wanqing’s eager help and promptly accepted.
