Chapter 341: Willing to Work with ?
“`
(Chapter Five)
That evening, Luo Ziling still accepted Ouyang Feifei’s invitation and went out to dinner with her to discuss business.
Many embarrassing and unspeakable events had happened during lunch with Ouyang Huihui at noon, leaving Luo Ziling awkward but also with a subtle feeling in his heart.
He could feel that Ouyang Huihui’s attitude toward him had changed significantly, but he didn’t know what this change ant.
Ouyang Feifei didn’t invite Luo Ziling to dine out but to her residence, and she still had Wang Qing pick him up.
When Luo Ziling appeared, Ouyang Feifei explained, “It’s more comfortable at ho, I’ve asked for food to be delivered here.”
Ouyang Huihui put it that way, and Luo Ziling felt it would be rude to say anything in response.
On the way, he asked Wang Qing where Ouyang Feifei would et him, but Wang Qing seed indifferent and only ntioned taking him to Ouyang Feifei’s residence. Luo Ziling didn’t mind Wang Qing’s unfriendliness.
“I had intended to treat you to dinner, but since we’re at your place, I’ll shalessly take advantage of your hospitality once more,” Luo Ziling joked.
Today Ouyang Feifei dressed very casually, in a long dress with a light blue sweater on top and her hair simply braided into a thick plait. She had none of the queen’s airs but was filled with the charm of the girl next door.
In previous etings with Ouyang Feifei, Luo Ziling hadn’t paid attention to her gender-specific qualities, but today, he took notice quite naturally.
Ouyang Feifei, realizing where Luo Ziling’s gaze had landed, couldn’t help feeling a bit proud.
“Please, have a seat,” said Ouyang Feifei with a faint smile, gently inviting Luo Ziling, “Dinner will be arriving shortly, so let’s talk business first.”
Luo Ziling also sat down unreservedly across from Ouyang Feifei, with the coffee table between them. Being closer, the beauty of Ouyang Feifei, just within reach, and her scent filling his nostrils made Luo Ziling’s heartbeat unwittingly quicken.
There was sothing about Ouyang Feifei’s deanor that gave Luo Ziling an attraction he had never felt before.
“This morning I visited your mother,” Ouyang Feifei noted Luo Ziling’s discomfort and felt even more proud.
She sat upright and with a slight smile on her face, spoke softly to Luo Ziling, “I discussed with her what I ntioned to you yesterday.”
“What did she say?” Luo Ziling promptly asked.
“She said it’s up to you to decide,” Ouyang Feifei smiled and said, “You’re supposed to have dinner there tomorrow evening; she will likely talk to you about this matter then.”
Luo Ziling realized that Ouyang Feifei knew about the dinner with Ling Ruonan the following evening, which ant his mother trusted Ouyang Feifei since she had discussed it with her.
He imdiately responded, “Then I’ll ask her tomorrow. Actually, I have no interest in making money or managing family affairs.”
“A man can’t possibly achieve nothing for the future, even if your mother is exceptional. You don’t want to live off the wealth left by your grandfather and your mother forever, right?” Ouyang Feifei spoke with earnestness like an elder, “With all the technology you have for creating wealth, it would be such a waste not to capitalize on it!”
Luo Ziling shook his head, “Actually, the person who should have converted the technology into wealth was my grandfather, but he chose not to. I know he had a great ideal—to develop our traditional dicine. When he sent to study at dical University, he told this: he hoped I would integrate Eastern and Western dicine to beco a dical Honorific and promote the traditional dicine of Huaxia. I hope I don’t disappoint him.”
This speech moved Ouyang Feifei.
She hadn’t expected Luo Liansheng to have such grand ideals and that he had entrusted Luo Ziling with this mission.
She believed that if Luo Ziling had enough support, his ideas would certainly be realized.
She said with a smile, “Actually, by contributing your and your grandfather’s research findings to benefit more patients, you’re also promoting traditional dicine—it’s a very good approach.
If the dications or secret formulas you develop benefit many people and relieve nurous patients’ suffering, then surely many will believe in our traditional dicine.
It’s better to promote the efficacy of traditional dicine through concrete actions rather than re talk. Not only is it a profoundly virtuous deed, but it will also enhance the status of traditional dicine. More importantly, you can generate wealth from it—it’s a win-win situation, which you should pursue without hesitation.”
Ouyang Feifei rarely spoke at length in one breath, but today she did so in front of Luo Ziling and still felt like she had more to say. Nonetheless, she wisely paused and waited for Luo Ziling’s reaction.
“You make it sound so tempting,” Luo Ziling grinned.
When Ouyang Feifei spoke earlier, her expression was captivating, rarely was she seen so animated while discussing serious matters.
More importantly, the content of her words truly piqued his interest.
Until Ouyang Feifei ntioned these points, he had hardly ever considered them.
After listening to her, he was greatly stirred; indeed, as she said, it was possible to both enrich people’s lives and elevate traditional dicine, while also making money for himself. Luo Ziling knew his grandfather’s dicines and the developed formulas were very valuable, able to cure specific diseases.
Of course, much of this work also included his contributions—it could be said that many of the formulas and dicines had been jointly developed by him and his grandfather.
Then, Ouyang Feifei softly added, “Would you like to partner with ?”
