Chapter 405: You Are Despicable

“Despicable!” As the car left the base, Lin Lan said two words resentfully, even clenching her teeth as she spoke.
“What?” Sitting in the passenger seat, Luo Ziling didn’t catch on right away.
Lin Lan turned her head and glared at Luo Ziling but didn’t answer.
“Be clear, how am I despicable?” Luo Ziling was getting annoyed, “I didn’t agree to a contest, and they started attacking. I accompany your comrades in training, and yet you still call despicable? If you don’t explain how I’m being despicable, I’m getting angry too.”
“To actually use such a move.” Lin Lan still looked down on him with contempt.
“What move?” Luo Ziling was still puzzled.
Lin Lan slamd on the brakes, and the car lurched forward before stopping abruptly.
Caught off guard by Lin Lan’s sudden attack, Luo Ziling’s body jolted forward, then jerked back after being restrained by the seatbelt.
Just as he was about to curse Lin Lan for her despicable action, he saw this woman take out her phone and show him a video.
It was the video of his fight with that woman.
During the fight, Luo Ziling had seen Lin Lan holding a phone, but he hadn’t realized she was recording a video.
After watching the video Lin Lan showed him, Luo Ziling finally understood why she called him despicable.
It was because of the footage where he punched towards that woman’s legs, specifically between them, Lin Lan criticized him for that.
“There’s nothing despicable about it. When she kicked out like that, that position was the most exposed. Any martial artist would instinctively aim for it, it’s a subconscious action, and it has nothing to do with being despicable.” Luo Ziling explained, then asked Lin Lan very seriously, “You were injured in your buttocks this ti, do you think the person who hit you was despicable? If you were fighting a male enemy and you kicked his groin, disabling his ability to resist, would you feel your move was despicable?”
Seeing Lin Lan silent, Luo Ziling continued earnestly, “When you taught how to kill enemies, you said when you faced enemies, you would strike to kill, not giving the opponent a chance to fight back. Otherwise, you might fail the mission. If more enemies are alerted, you would suffer heavy losses, or even lose your own life. Would you still consider whether or not you were being despicable then?”
“Whatever the case, you using that move on her is despicable,” Lin Lan muttered, then put away her phone and continued driving.
Noticing that Lin Lan’s spirit had faltered, Luo Ziling said firmly, “Last ti when I saved you, if I had thought about those things and hesitated to clean your wounds there, you might have died long ago. Do you think I’ve been despicable the whole ti?”
With a screech, Lin Lan slamd on the brakes again, and the massive Humvee ca to a stop on the side of the road after moving a bit further.
Unprepared, Luo Ziling’s body lurched forward once more and was tightly restrained by the seatbelt.
He couldn’t help but get angry, “What’s wrong with you? If you’re seeking revenge, this is not the way. If there was a car behind us, they could have rear-ended us.”
“Don’t talk about those things anymore,” Lin Lan’s pretty face flushed a bit, and her eyes showed both sha and anger, “Forget about it imdiately, don’t keep it in mind.”
“My mory isn’t that bad, I won’t forget,” Luo Ziling glared at Lin Lan and leaned back in his seat, “but I won’t be as narrow-minded as you, thinking that kind of thing is despicable.”
Lin Lan glared at Luo Ziling for a mont but eventually didn’t say anything and started driving forward again.
In fact, Luo Ziling quite enjoyed arguing with Lin Lan. Watching her switch between acting cool and getting annoyed, he found it amusing.
Arguing with her, teasing and quarreling, was much better than both of them being silent all the way.

Seeing that Lin Lan had fallen silent, he couldn’t help but provoke her deliberately.
“Won really do have a small capacity for patience,” Luo Ziling snorted, “no wonder so say only won and petty people are hard to nurture.”
“You look down on won?” Lin Lan’s gaze towards Luo Ziling turned unfriendly again.
“Won can look down on n too if the n are not doing well,” Luo Ziling didn’t deny it, “if you think I have a bad character or am morally corrupt, feel free to look down on anyti.”
Lin Lan was left at a loss for words by Luo Ziling’s response, and could only drive with a huff.
However, after dropping Luo Ziling off at school and seeing him get out of the car, the annoyance on Lin Lan’s face imdiately disappeared.
She even turned her head to watch Luo Ziling walk away for a few seconds before she finally smiled lightly, turned the car around, and drove off.
After returning to his dorm, Luo Ziling saw a ssage from Chen Xiaoyi on his phone.
“Luo Ziling, don’t forget to watch the program I’m hosting tonight, it’s a report related to you.”
Then there was another ssage: “After the program airs, you owe a late-night snack. You have to tell what you think of this episode, it’s very useful for improving the quality of our program. It’s also an essential procedure after recording, around eight o’clock tonight, don’t stand up.”
Looking at these ssages, Luo Ziling was sowhat amused.
This woman was so assertive, sothing Luo Ziling had felt during their previous encounters.
Today’s ssages also made her assertiveness evident, giving Luo Ziling no chance to refuse; if she wanted to see him, he had to agree. That was the ssage.
Yet in the end, Luo Ziling didn’t refuse. He replied to Chen Xiaoyi, telling her he would definitely watch the program tonight and around eight, he would treat her to a late-night snack and share his thoughts. After all, the TV station had aired a program related to him, and it was a positive report that boosted his reputation; Luo Ziling felt that even if Chen Xiaoyi hadn’t asked, he would have offered his thanks anyway.
Luo Ziling’s dormitory didn’t have a television, but he had already arranged to have dinner with Ling Ruonan that evening.
While dining at Ling Ruonan’s place, he could watch the program about him.
Originally, Luo Ziling had planned to go out with Yang Qingyin after returning, but after contacting her, she told him she was busy with so things and was going out with Xiaoli, possibly returning around dinner ti. Luo Ziling reluctantly gave up the idea.
Shortly after speaking with Yang Qingyin, Wuyue called him, saying she would co to pick him up soon.
Ling Ruonan had no plans for the afternoon and had been at ho, hoping that Luo Ziling could co over earlier.
Luo Ziling agreed.
When he arrived with Wuyue, Luo Ziling saw Ling Ruonan dressed in casual ho clothes, welcoming him at the doorstep of the villa.
Upon seeing him, she imdiately showed a loving smile: “Ling’er, I bought the dishes you like today; how about we cook them together later?”
“Sure,” Luo Ziling naturally agreed.
As Ling Ruonan took Luo Ziling’s hand and walked into the living room, she told him sothing very important: “Your grandfather has already agreed that during your great grandfather’s birthday, you can co back with to celebrate and also check on his health, to see what treatnt he needs.”
Although Ling Ruonan had ntioned this before, Luo Ziling was still deeply shocked to hear her say it so explicitly today.
