Chapter 524: Chapter 524: Just Don’t Let Them Mistake for Your Boyfriend
Luo Ziling was taken aback, not quite understanding what was going on, but he still greeted Ling Qirui respectfully, “Hello, Grandpa!”
Hearing Luo Ziling’s greeting, Ling Qirui simply nodded slightly in acknowledgnt.
“How co you’re on the street?” Originally sitting opposite Ling Qirui and discussing matters, as soon as Luo Ziling got on the car, Ling Ruonan imdiately pulled him to her side.
Fearing Luo Ziling would feel awkward, after asking this question, she quickly explained to Ling Qirui, “Dad, it’s such a coincidence today, I actually ran into Ziling on the street.”
“I was just taken out for late-night snacks by Chen Xiaoyi, Chen Xiaoxiao, and Fang Qianqian.” Luo Ziling hurriedly explained, “They wanted to take back to the school, but I refused and wanted to walk back alone. I saw this motorcade and curiously watched for a while—never expected you and Grandpa to be in the car.”
Upon hearing that Luo Ziling had just been with Chen Xiaoyi, Chen Xiaoxiao, and Fang Qianqian, Ling Ruonan frowned slightly and asked softly, “How co you’re with them?”
“I went to treat Fang Dongxun’s injury tonight. Fang Qianqian ca to pick up, and after the treatnt, her father asked her to take back. They wanted to treat to late-night snacks to say thanks, and later on, Chen Xiaoyi joined us as well.” Having honestly confessed, Luo Ziling then smiled sheepishly at Ling Qirui, his smile full of embarrassnt.
Hearing Luo Ziling say this, curiosity also rose in Ling Qirui’s heart, and he watched Luo Ziling intently.
“Fang Zhonghua talked about his past interactions with Grandpa and my dad… Dad, and said that he believes in our Luo Family’s dical skills. So he let go over to help with the treatnt.” Speaking in front of Ling Qirui, Luo Ziling seed a bit awkward, “I also gave Fang Zhonghua a bag of secret dicine that Grandpa had prepared.”
“So it’s like that, Fang Zhonghua personally received you?” Seeing her father show so interest in what Luo Ziling had just said, Ling Ruonan imdiately asked, “What did Fang Zhonghua express? Did he give you a reward?”
Luo Ziling thought for a mont and said, “He said ‘great kindness is beyond words of thanks,’ and did not want to pay .”
“Oh, he said that?” Ling Ruonan appeared sowhat surprised, glanced at Ling Qirui, and then murmured to herself, “It looks like the Fang Family treats you quite well!”
anwhile, the motorcade continued moving forward at a very slow pace, and Luo Ziling had no idea where it was heading.
At this mont, Ling Qirui spoke up, “In a few days, it will be your Great Grandfather’s ninetieth birthday. Co and attend with your mother. Co early and give Great Grandfather a dical checkup. His health isn’t very good; he has taken many dications and consulted many famous doctors but to no avail.”
Hearing Ling Qirui say this, Ling Ruonan imdiately squeezed Luo Ziling’s arm.
Luo Ziling understood and promptly promised, “Yes, Grandpa, I will definitely co with my mom.”
Ling Qirui’s direct invitation, referring to Ling Jinhua as Great Grandfather, allowed Luo Ziling to feel its significant aning, filled with great joy in his heart.
He also understood the purpose of Ling Ruonan inquiring about these matters in front of Ling Qirui—it was to make their relationship seem closer.
It seed that Ling Qirui really cared for Ling Ruonan; otherwise, she wouldn’t have asked him these questions in front of Ling Qirui.
“Dad, on Sunday morning, I’ll bring Ziling over,” Ling Ruonan said with a sigh of relief and smiled at Ling Qirui, “Ling’er has inherited his grandfather’s true dical skills. Even Li Haiyang’s serious condition has improved, so he can certainly cure Grandpa’s illness as well.”
Ling Qirui did not say much but nodded gently in response.
The car unknowingly ca to a stop, and Luo Ziling saw they had arrived at the front gate of his school.
Realizing it was ti for him to get off, he quickly bid farewell to Ling Qirui and Ling Ruonan, “Grandpa, Mom, I’m getting off now.”
“You go ahead,” Ling Ruonan said, holding Luo Ziling’s hand and seeming reluctant to let go, “Get to bed early, rest well, and call Mom if there’s anything.”
“Mhm,” Luo Ziling agreed, then nodded at Ling Qirui, who had a serious expression, showed a shy smile, opened the car door, and got out.
After Luo Ziling got off, Ling Ruonan rolled down the window and waved goodbye to him.
Watching the motorcade drive off into the distance, Luo Ziling finally turned and headed towards the school entrance.
He still hadn’t recognized the brand of the car he had just ridden in; his limited car knowledge was of no use here.
However, he could tell that these cars were different from others in performance; it seed like the doors were very thick, as was the glass.
When Luo Ziling returned to his dorm, the three guys were out gallivanting sowhere, and there was no one around.
With no one in the dorm, Luo Ziling felt quite relaxed.
He first took a shower and then casually washed so clothes.
While washing clothes, he heard his cellphone ping from ti to ti.
It was only when he had finished up and lay back on his bed that he discovered a bunch of unread ssages on his phone.
They were WeChat ssages from Ouyang Feifei and Ouyang Huihui, ssages from Cao Jianhui, and so greetings from other classmates, but he didn’t see any ssages from Yang Qingyin.
Luo Ziling had told Yang Qingyin that he would be treating Fang Dongxun tonight and wasn’t sure when he’d be back.
Luo Ziling first sent a ssage to Yang Qingyin, reporting that he had returned to the dorm and was preparing to sleep.
He then opened Ouyang Huihui’s ssages and saw several from her, a mix of complaints and concern, to which he simply sent a few brief replies.
He then looked at Ouyang Feifei’s ssages.
Ouyang Feifei said she hoped Luo Ziling could treat her the day after tomorrow, which was Friday afternoon.
The school exchange eting she had ntioned last ti was starting that afternoon, with a cocktail party in the evening, and she planned to take Luo Ziling there to make an appearance.
Ouyang Feifei’s intention was that there would be many authorities from the dical field and so officials responsible for dical managent attending the party that night; getting to know them would definitely be beneficial.
Having already agreed to Ouyang Feifei last ti, Luo Ziling didn’t refuse and promptly replied, saying he would follow her arrangents.
What puzzled Luo Ziling was that Ouyang Feifei’s ssage was replied to right away, but the other two won didn’t respond.
‘That’s fine. We’ll talk about the details when we et.’
Then another ssage followed swiftly: ‘Do so howork on pharmaceutical and dical knowledge because the evening will be full of celebrities from the dical field. I don’t understand dicine, so you’ll need to handle any dical questions.’
Followed by another: ‘Dress up nicely, don’t intentionally cover up your good looks.’
There were several rolling-eye emojis after that.
‘Are you worried I’ll embarrass you?’
‘Yes!’
‘Alright, I’ll make sure to dress my best. Just don’t let them mistake for your boyfriend by accident!’
All Ouyang Feifei replied with was a string of rolling-eye emojis.
