Chapter 534: Chapter 534: Deep Waters
Luo Ziling had knocked all five n in black to the ground and then kicked them viciously a few more tis, making sure each of them couldn’t get up. After finishing, he took out his phone and called Shanque.
But to his frustration, the call wouldn’t go through.
Lin Lan was definitely not in Yanjing, so Luo Ziling didn’t think about asking her for help. After thinking it over, he called Li Haiyang directly.
Within Dragon Rise, Luo Ziling didn’t have the phone numbers of anyone else except these three people, not even Falcon, whom he was quite grateful for.
The phone rang many tis before it was answered, and Li Haiyang’s voice ca through the receiver, “Hello, Ziling, what’s happened?”
“Senior, there’s been a little trouble,” Luo Ziling said awkwardly, “I just had a bit of an accident.”
“That ans you won’t be able to co for treatnt tomorrow?”
“No!” Luo Ziling denied it. Today was Friday, and originally Luo Ziling was supposed to go treat Li Haiyang today, but considering the weekend, he planned to go treat him tomorrow morning. After treating Li Haiyang tomorrow morning, he intended to treat Ouyang Feifei in the afternoon and then join her to attend the reception associated with the dical academic exchange event.
Luo Ziling quickly explained what had just happened, emphasizing that he had fired a gun and wounded soone today.
After listening, Li Haiyang was silent for a short while before saying quietly, “I’ll send soone to deal with it.”
After hanging up the phone, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief.
With Dragon Rise stepping in, there wouldn’t be any trouble over him taking the initiative to shoot today.
Luo Ziling did not regret firing the gun. He felt that this action might serve as a deterrent effect, making those who wanted to deal with him think twice since they now knew he was ard and willing to shoot.
Of course, Luo Ziling also considered another possibility that next ti they too might copy him and send soone with a gun to play with him.
Luo Ziling just hoped that things wouldn’t develop in a worse direction, not the latter possibility.
Soon, the sound of police sirens approached from a distance.
Two police cars arrived one after the other; several policen got out of the cars, guns drawn, and approached Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling wisely gave up any thought of resisting and raised his hands to surrender to the police.
As the police ca closer, he briefly explained what had happened and handed over his ID and gun permit for the police to check. The responding officers were not aware of the shooting incident, and they were all startled after hearing Luo Ziling’s account.
However, the leading officer took another shock when he checked the gun permit and even hesitated to take the gun that Luo Ziling voluntarily handed over.
With highly developed internet technology, they could simply scan the code on the gun permit with their police equipnt to know where it was issued from.
The issuing unit was not sothing they could provoke, and seeing that Luo Ziling was so cooperative and proactive, they were even more cautious.
In the end, the leading officer politely invited Luo Ziling into the police car, without any forceful asures.
The people Luo Ziling had injured were also stuffed into the police cars and taken away.
Quickly, Luo Ziling and several injured n in black were taken to the nearby substation.
To Luo Ziling’s surprise, he actually encountered an “acquaintance” at the police station— it was the Deputy Director Wu Zhengyun, whom he had dealt with before.
Because Luo Ziling was wearing glasses, Wu Zhengyun did not imdiately recognize him. It was only during the questioning that he recognized Luo Ziling.
Thinking back on the trouble that had ensued the last ti Luo Ziling had been brought into the station, Wu Zhengyun was startled and promptly reported to Director Li Qingyang.
After receiving the report, Director Li Qingyang instructed Wu Zhengyun not to handle the situation for the ti being; he would report it to the city bureau first.
Wu Zhengyun invited Luo Ziling into the reception room, made him so tea, and brought him so snacks. This treatnt surprised Luo Ziling sowhat, but seeing how cautiously Wu Zhengyun was speaking to him, he roughly understood the situation.
What surprised Wu Zhengyun and others even more was yet to co. While they were waiting for instructions from the city bureau, a plainclothes man arrived at the reception room, showed his credentials, and demanded to take Luo Ziling away. After seeing the contents of the credentials, Wu Zhengyun got another fright and felt relieved that they hadn’t mistreated Luo Ziling—otherwise, the trouble would have been even greater. He was also murmuring to himself, wondering about the background and identity of this Yan University student—after causing such a ruckus, even soone from that departnt had co personally to retrieve him.
However, after recalling which unit had issued Luo Ziling’s gun permit, he began to have an inkling of what was going on.
Without any attempt to make things difficult, Wu Zhengyun followed normal procedures to process Luo Ziling’s paperwork and then handed him over to the plainclothes man.
The man who ca for him was soone Luo Ziling did not recognize, soone he did not seem to have seen before, but he wisely refrained from asking questions.
After following the man out of the police station compound and getting into the car, the man finally said to Luo Ziling, “If there’s anything, the chief will talk to you tomorrow. You go back first; I have to return and complete the mission.”
“Thank you!” Luo Ziling had just finished expressing his gratitude when the man drove off.
Luo Ziling took out his phone, called Yang Qingyin, and reported his situation. Hearing that Luo Ziling was all right, Yang Qingyin breathed a sigh of relief, and told him that she and Ye Xiaoli would co to pick him up shortly, and that Luo Ziling just needed to wait for them at a nearby location.
Luo Ziling naturally agreed and jokingly said that today Yang Qingyin should treat him to a late-night snack to calm his nerves, to which Yang Qingyin did not object.
Just as Luo Ziling got into the car that had co to pick him up, Wu Zhengyun received another phone call.
It was from soone else whom he could not afford to offend. The caller sternly inquired about the incident that had just occurred and commanded Wu Zhengyun to handle the situation seriously, as there had been a disturbance near a renowned university. But when the caller heard that one of the parties involved was taken by soone from Dragon Rise, he did not say much more and hung up.
Director Li Qingyang also arrived soon after.
After hearing Wu Zhengyun’s account of the recent events, Director Li Qingyang was also shocked. Knowing the gravity and complexity of the situation, he did not hesitate and imdiately joined Wu Zhengyun in interrogating the other n in black.
Because the issue was critical, even though the n in black were injured—and not lightly—they were not imdiately taken to the hospital.
Seeing the condition of the injured, both Li Qingyang and Wu Zhengyun drew in a cold breath.
Luo Ziling was truly fierce, having beaten those n to such a state.
It seed that without lying in a hospital bed for a significant period, those n wouldn’t be getting up anyti soon.
Yet, what shocked them even more was the result of the questioning—the mastermind behind the n in black took both of them aback.
They were even clearer now that today’s incident was far more complex than it seed.
