Now reading: Chapter 1348: How To Survive In the Void from The dragon's harem, a Action novel by AlenTanor.

Arad had four incarnations. One was in Alina, another in the university, and the third one in the half-angel kingdom. The fourth incarnation was now flying in the space of the mortal world with Diana, about to start his training under her.

Arad had expected a lot of fighting and martial training, but to his surprise, the first one was about survival. Under the angel's watchful gaze, he had to create just enough oxygen for himself to breathe without cursing the whole area.

"Keep it up! Create just enough, nothing more!" Diana shouted as she flew a fair distance above Arad, "The abominations can sense that curse and use it to locate you, so make sure it doesn't get out of hand."

Arad floated in his draconic form, looking down at Earth with a passive face as he tried to control his breathing and lower the amount of oxygen he needed. Even though he could make enough to survive for centuries, the amount of radiation caused would draw all the abominations toward him like moths to a fla.

Then suddenly, Diana swung her foot down and kicked Arad on the back, almost breaking his spine. "I said keep it under control! A suicide bomber would've already spotted and killed you by now! You've seen how deadly they are, so do better!"

After a whole hour, Arad could finally achieve a asure of success for soone who was just starting. "You're about average, but that's enough for . Keep it up and follow ." She flew in front of him, and he followed, finding it harder to keep his breathing, the generation of oxygen, and the amount of radiation released in check all at the sa ti.

"Everyone can learn how to steady their breath, but not everyone can do it while running, let alone fighting." She looked back at Arad, "You've been doing it in your human, weaker form, but that's far easier than trying to sustain your massive, power-hungry draconic form."

"I know! But where are we going?" He asked, and she laughed, "Going? We aren't going anywhere. I'm just getting you to move."

Just as expected, getting him to move made the task even harder, but the impossible part was just starting. Diana had him use his void eyes to observe the mana around him and then camouflage himself and his mana to blend into the void, which was on a whole other level compared to just shifting the color of his scales to blend with the environnt.

Void dragon's main job in the war is to transport soldiers, supplies, weapons, and food safely and quickly through the war-riddled outer space. They needed to be able to sneak past the abomination patrol undetected. If they can't do that, then they won't even survive long enough to grow strong enough to fight.

"So void dragons can fly only a few kiloters away from an abomination without being detected. That's like you walking just an inch behind a man without him noticing you." Diana looked at Arad and smiled, "You're doing better than any recruit I ever trained."

Arad looked around and then quickly focused back on what he was doing. Making oxygen, camouflaging himself, and hiding his magic signal. He literally had to lt into the void and disappear.

"This is difficult, but it's doable with enough training. Won't we do sothing more- active?" Arad asked, and Diana started thinking for a few seconds.

Arad wanted to fight for a bit and master his new powers. He had beco an adult recently and still didn't get a chance to go all out. All he had was either small squabbles or fights where he couldn't unleash his full might in fear of breaking the world.

"As an adult void dragon, getting into a fight in the war is asking to be killed. Even the greatwyrms can't afford to move without protection. Most of your training will revolve around evading fights, and the rest is about to run from them when you get caught." She looked down at him, "I might be a bloodthirsty harbinger of destruction, but I'm not a fan of sending my soldiers to their deaths."

She looked around and waved her hand. "You're doing great. Now, silently spread your magic over your whole domain."

Arad blinked, "What's a domain?"

"The area of magic you dominate. How far away can you control magic?" She asked Arad who realized she was talking about his magic radius.

"Four thousand kiloters in each direction."

That was a massive distance that dwarfed most kingdoms in the mortal world, but when talking about outer space, it was infinitely small.

"The healthy average of an adult void dragon. Now, instead of using it to cast magic, try to use it to detect everything around you. All living beings, including abominations, leave a trace of mana in their path." She waved her hand, "I summoned several demons all around us. Try to locate them and give their exact location."

Arad could already feel several demons close by, so he replied, "Four are close, almost fifty kiloters to the left."

Diana lifted her foot up and dropped it on his back. "Here, you're dead again. I told you to find them, not lick their souls with your magic. They also sensed you. If this was the outer space, we'd already be sward by them now."

She pointed at the empty space, "Detect them without them detecting you back. Don't look straight at them. Just follow the trail they leave behind, and when it gets strong enough, you'll know they are close."

Arad's back was already starting to hurt. She might look like a normal human, but her kicks are stupidly heavy like he's been punched by four of himself at once.

Arad tried again. This ti, he looked for the traces- they were like the footsteps left by soone walking. When he found the trail, he followed it with his magic sense, keeping a close eye on its strength.

When the trail got so fresh and strong, he knew that the demon who left it must be just a short distance ahead, so he reported his finding back to Diana.

This ti, she didn't kick him- she instead praised him. Most soldiers fail at least ten tis before they figure it out, but he was a fast learner.

"Good, now the hard part. Just from the trail, I need you to find out the vague shape of their bodies, their magic type, speed, and most importantly- if they can call reinforcent or not." She sat on Arad's back and pointed in the direction of the demon.

"If they can call a reinforcent, we'll avoid them. If they can't, we'll try a stealth kill. For the stealth kill, you must get close enough to suck them into your stomach in under a thousandth of a second. The angels inside your stomach will be ready to gang on the abomination and kill it there where no one will detect the fight."

Arad flew toward the demon as he tried to check its magic type. It was quite a hard thing to achieve, but after several kicks from Diana, he finally managed to do it.

"Four legs, six arms, fire-type magic, not that fast, also has telepathic signals." Arad inford Diana, "But the telepathic signal is only incoming. He can receive calls and orders but not send them."

She looked at him and lifted her foot up, "So? Attack or evade?"

Arad thought about it for a while. He didn't want her to shatter his spine, so after a while, he replied, "Attack?"

She kicked him, "If the telepathic signal exists, that ans soone is keeping an eye on him. Kill that one, and a hundred will show up. Better to evade them."
