In the middle of that chaos, Yog could only see two people. A ball of dominating radiance, and Nyar standing right in front of that ball, casting his own darkness and refusing to get burned. But then, from Nyar’s shadow, Linda erged with her arm having turned into a dark blade of shadows and distorted ti.

She didn’t have ti to keep watching. Nyar could fight as freely as he wanted, but they couldn’t. They had to minimize collateral damage and protect the people of the mortal world. As much as Yog loved throwing tornadoes everywhere and sowing chaos, she had to keep it down now.

That’s why she started working on barriers and left the initial fighting to Luminous and Linda. Those were powerful enough to stand their own, even if it was just a short while. Nyar deflected Linda’s sword with his arm and then found himself standing between the two. Blinding radiance on one side, and blinding darkness on the other side, he was getting sandwiched between two extres.

Luminous’s arms moved at the speed of light, unseen thanks to her blinding light, and soon reached Nyar’s flesh to cut him down. Her arms were just about a ter long, so in a second, she was able to swing around three hundred million tis.

Linda was no less scary than Luminous; her black sword moved beyond ti, attacking in the future and past as well as it did in the present. What was even more distressing was that her blade could erge from any shadow or darkness, even the one hiding deep inside Nyar’s body.

But even under that assault, Nyar stood his ground, survived, and even fought back. Could those two use more power and blast him to ash? Yes, they could. But they shouldn’t because such an extre power would blast a hole in the mortal world and kill billions.

"Barriers are in place. But don’t go over 50% of your power!" She quickly flew in to join them in battle. The first goal is to get Nyar out of the mortal world, but the bastard was awfully stubborn, and no teleportation magic worked on him. He can’t be teleported against his will, and that wouldn’t have been a problem if Arad were here.

Arad was AO, and he also had Vorvadoss’s eldritch spatial magic; he should be able to teleport this avatar outside the universe with ease. In fact, Yog was almost certain Nyar wouldn’t have dared attack if Arad were around.

Should she just teleport Arad back? Probably, but Violet won’t be happy. Last ti, Yog suffered a lot at her hands for dragging Arad into danger, but now, could she really argue back? The mortal world doesn’t need a second hole in its surface; in fact, another one, and it might collapse.

The situation was just that bad, like fighting an overpowered, murderous, and raging monster at a school or hospital. They can’t just blow the place up. But if they sohow managed to drag him into the middle of nowhere, calling an air strike would be easy.

At one mont, she thought about calling Amaterasu, who was in Arad’s city, but then almost spat on her own brain for the stupid idea. What would bringing the sun to the mortal world’s surface achieve? She’ll deal as much damage as Nyar would, and just make things worse.

What about Kali? That was just as bad as calling Amaterasu. Those two only knew mass destruction, and even their tast moves that could kill a Nyar Avatar this strong would wipe the mortal world.

Everything happened in less than five seconds, and Betty watched from the ground, seeing the battle start, and knowing she wouldn’t be alive to see it end. When was the last ti she saw Arad or talked to him? She couldn’t even rember now that most of her blood had been drained out.

She could feel it, death creeping behind her, and looking, she could indeed see it. A large, disgusting amalgamation of all those who died, a flood of deford corpses and blood, spearheaded by an aloof, emotionless maid.

This is the end; she was about to die. There was no fate for her after this mont, and right of life had expired, killed by an ancient horror; she couldn’t even heal herself or speak.

The clock ticked down, and she was just a few seconds away from her end, her death. Darkness began to take hold, and her entire body felt light.

"Your ti has co; pray to whoever god you believe in so they can speak for you in the land of the dead." The maid lifted her hand, and a large bone scythe appeared in her hand, ready to reap Betty’s soul from her body.

What would a halfling do at their end? When faced by death? Only one thing crossed Betty’s mind.

Betty giggled, "Say, death. What did the stupid rabbit say to the hungry lion?" Death stopped for a mont, "What did it say?"

"Catch if you fucking can!" And with that, Betty bolted away. Death couldn’t believe her eyes. This one really is trying to run away from death.

But Betty was not a foul, she was in fact, a bright genius.

Moving at the speed of light, ti had slowed to a halt, and Betty’s death, that was a second away, never ca. Her death would co at a mont in ti, and she only needed to make sure that mont never arrived.

While running at that speed, the entire world had turned into an endless white plain in front of her eyes, and behind her, the darkness of death chased. Running toward the light with all of her might, Betty’s legs and arms moved, her head bobbed up and down, but her wounded torso remained still.

Looking back, Betty felt like she was running away from a flood or an avalanche with no end in sight. If she stops or slows down, ti would start flowing for her again, and death would catch up. The mont she slows down, that last second of her life would tick away, and her death would arrive.

Death herself chased after Betty, running just a few feet behind her with a flood of darkness and death, swallowing the halfling’s radiant light like a sponge in water. "You can’t run forever, give up." Death called to her, and Betty looked back with a smile.

She had to survive no matter what, and if that ant outrunning death, she would do it. Now, before her stamina runs out, she has to figure sothing out. She had to use that genius head of hers outsmart death and fate; she had to survive, because if she didn’t, she’ll miss Arad.
