Their eyes were fixed ahead.
Not far away, the river could be clearly seen.
And across the river, the city at the edge of the horizon.
This area had the most stationed troops because most of the bridges across the river in front had nearly been completely destroyed.
The section of the river they faced was the shallowest, allowing them to slowly wade across on horseback.
Correspondingly, the enemy had heavily guarded the area to prevent their surprise assault.
"What’s that sound?"
A Blood Race Knight on horseback asked.
"What?" The soldier beside him seed confused.
"The sound, didn’t you hear it?"
The soldier shook his head, his eyes filled with confusion.
There was a gap in both bloodline level and strength between them.
The Knight listened intently.
He kept feeling that he heard so sort of vibrating footsteps, sowhat chaotic, sowhat dense.
Following the sound, he turned his head to look behind.
His pupils widened, and the stiff expression on his face slipped out of control.
"Enemy attack!"
The voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone was startled by the sound, then almost instinctively turned toward the opposite riverbank.
However, there was nothing on the opposite riverbank.
"Look behind you, you fools!" The Knight shouted.
All the soldiers turned to look behind.
Then they saw the Night Watchers charging in on Land Birds.
"Fight!"
The Blood Race finally reacted, raising their weapons to attack Kana and his people erging from behind.
"Damn it, why are there enemies behind us! Those fools! Incompetents!" The Knight cursed.
They had never expected enemies to appear directly behind them.
And looking at the enemy troops, it was by no ans a small force.
The two sides instantly clashed.
Then the Knight realized sothing was wrong.
The enemy was too strong.
With a single encounter, the Blood Race suffered heavy casualties.
Across the river.
The soldiers who had been observing also noticed sothing amiss and quickly reported the information to the commander.
The commander responsible imdiately ca to the front line.
He said to the person next to him, "See what’s happening."
The eyes of the person next to him flickered with a glimr of Magic Power, and soon their vision clearly saw what was happening across the river.
"The Blood Race seems to be fighting soone else, the other side looks different from the Blood Race."
"Look at the banner," the commander said.
He had already noticed strangers seed to be holding up a flag.
"Never seen it before, it’s an emblem like a torch."
"Torch?" The commander was puzzled, he had never heard of any faction with a torch emblem.
Just as he wanted to ask about the current situation, the person beside him exclaid.
"What happened?"
"Incredible, the opponents are very powerful, these Blood Race are no match, being slaughtered one-sidedly."
"Huh?" The commander was a bit surprised.
Although everything seed peaceful now, they had been in a standoff here for half a year, and both sides had skirmished at least a few tis, they never considered the Blood Race to be weaklings.
Not to ntion those nurous, agile Ghouls with poisonous claws.
The average stats of ordinary Blood Race soldiers were higher than that of his soldiers. The officers and those who could use powers akin to Magic could suppress them.
If not for the constant reinforcent to their rear and maintaining their strategic advantage, their forces would have already been wiped out.
Yet now he was being told soone was slaughtering those Blood Race.
"Ah!"
"What happened?" The commander quickly asked.
"That Blood Race Knight, the one who killed dozens of our people, was taken down by the enemy in one strike."
"What?!"
This ti the commander was truly shocked.
That Blood Race Knight was very strong.
In every engagent, the opposing commander could cause large-scale slaughter, and they could barely stop him by sending their strongest.
And now you’re telling him.
That figure, sowhat like a nightmare to them, was taken down by a single strike from the enemy?
Who exactly are these opponents?
"It’s over, they are charging at us!"
The observer shouted.
So fast? Not even slaughtering pigs happens so quickly!
"Rally!" The commander almost instinctively shouted.
The surrounding soldiers imdiately began to gather, organized into formation, ready to launch an offensive at any mont.
At this point, Kana and his people, after clearing out those Blood Race on the opposite riverbank, put away their weapons.
"Mind your deanor, raise your hands to indicate we an no harm."
After all, this was a battlefield where both sides were in a standoff, and at the slightest misstep, allies could beco enemies.
The crowd nodded.
Raising their hands high to show they were not a threat, they began to wade across the river on their Land Birds.
Even the commander could clearly see it now.
He silently raised his hands, signaling the surrounding soldiers to temporarily lower their guard.
"Do you recognize them?"
The commander asked.
The people beside him shook their heads, not having seen the other side before, but at least knowing they’re not Blood Race.
The appearance of the Blood Race was too recognizable with their bluish-grey skin, dry bodies, blood-red eyes.
Sharp teeth resembling human-shaped monsters.
"Send a team."
The commander said.
His guards and a few soldiers ford a team and moved forward.
eting Kana’s people at the riverbank.
"Who are you?" The guard asked.
Kana replied, "We are the Night Watchers, from the Eastern Wilderness.
