The machinery pushed out no longer resembled a trebuchet at all.
It looked more like a piece of advanced alchemy technology.
It’s hard to imagine such exquisite and expensive-looking items among the ragtag Rat Clan.

The Night Watch Captain who had been hiding imdiately sprang into action, now that they were certain the device was among the rats.
However, the newly deployed alchemy weapon quickly launched an energy cannonball.
The arc of the energy cannonball clearly indicated it was so kind of catapult.
It landed far ahead of the Night Watcher’s formation.
Yet it was aningless.
The Night Watchers had already switched to small team operations since the start of their actions.
Most mbers of the team were Night Patrol and Light Guardians.
The cannonball created a huge crater upon impact.
However, it missed completely, with a squad of Night Watchers standing dazed next to the pit, seemingly mocking them.
The rat commander seed to hear the human’s taunting voice echoing in his ears.
"Continue firing!"
At this mont, the Night Watcher squad launched their surprise attack.
They imdiately clashed with the surrounding rats, blood and limbs flying everywhere.
For the Night Watchers, capable of such a challenging assault mission, their team’s average level was certainly not low.

Soon, two additional Night Watcher squads arrived from the flank, infiltrating the fortress directly.

A simple dismantling revealed that the Ratman’s alchemy equipnt was entirely unusable by humans or the Order Faction.
Because the basic requirent was mastery of Chaos Magic Power.
The design could only be described as crude, although far superior to the rats’ previous equipnt. However, it indeed posed a considerable challenge to the Night Watchers’ attack.

Sweet and the United Army’s officers gathered here, constantly receiving intelligence.
"The forest fortress up front has been captured, and our troops here are in good condition. Deploy half of the forces to the other side.
Coordinate with the others there to pin down the rats on the flank. Provide an advantage for the frontal assault."

The attack paused for a brief mont.

Such a limited scope of effectiveness was too restrictive.
"Pull back our forces a little more to ensure they understand that the internal defenses aren’t so easily breached."
