"Switching to spells now?"

Liu Zheng thought for a mont, didn’t try to dodge, but raised the statue to shield his head.

Blood arrows shot down fiercely, burying into his flesh.

The cold, sticky sensation crawled over his whole body, but soon dissipated, replaced by a bone-deep corrosion.

Every spot struck by the blood arrows sizzled audibly, his flesh bubbling like boiling water.

If he were an ordinary person, just one arrow would either turn him into a Beast or corrode him down to a skeleton.

But Liu Zheng’s blood was of much higher quality than the so-called "Holy Blood," yet its divine power was far less than the Blood Fla blessed by a higher being, hence the searing situation.

Unearthly pain sawed through his nerves like Chopin.

Had he not endured countless tortures in the tropolis, he wouldn’t have been able to stand it.

But now, Liu Zheng just stared fixedly at Dickens, then lifted the statue with a sinister smile.

The headless angel smashed into Dickens’s head while the latter was stiff from casting his ultimate move, hitting him squarely.

The huge Beast lay awkwardly on the ground, its skull directly cracked open.

"Co to your senses yet?"

Liu Zheng asked.

Dickens responded with a wild, beastly growl.

"Seems I won’t get any intel out of you."

He shook his head in regret.

"Then die."

Liu Zheng, holding the statue, leaped up and stomped directly onto Dickens’s back.

The weight of the statue, combined with his falling montum, almost squeezed out the last bit of Dickens’s innards.

The Fla Beast cried out in agony, its limbs flailing wildly as the Blood Fla inside gathered at its chest, clearly readying another massive move.

But this ti, Liu Zheng wouldn’t give it the chance.

The headless angel was lifted high and then slamd down hard, Dickens’s already raised head fell back to dust.

Once, twice, three tis...

Liu Zheng beca an unfeeling pile driver, using the statue as a ram to continually compact the foundation.

Soon, Dickens’s head was smashed into the ground, fitting seamlessly.

"This foundation’s quality is subpar, I suggest a strict inspection of the contractor."

As he spoke this nonsense, he jumped again.

The headless angel, plumting from a full four ters, delivered the final blow to Dickens with all of Liu Zheng’s strength.

The statue and its head shattered simultaneously, and endless blood erupted from the statue, casting a bloody moonlight over Liu Zheng.

And the Sun Fla on him erupted vehently, entwining with the moonlight.

Gold and blood-red intertwined to form a semicircular bubble, enveloping Liu Zheng and Dickens within.

Amid the rippling of light, it seed to contain terrible power.

"Fuck, it’s not going to explode, is it?"

He looked at Dickens’s corpse, where a spike-covered Blood Gem in the area of the heart glimred faintly.

Without hesitation, Liu Zheng cut open Dickinson’s chest, extracted the Blood Gem, and then hurled himself at the bubble’s wall.

Scorching heat and corrosion assaulted him at once, but he gritted his teeth and pushed forward, forcing his way out with the brute strength afforded by "Angry Fire Burning Body."

But once out, there was not an inch of intact skin left on him.

Liu Zheng didn’t pause, continuing to sprint towards the exit, then rolled out with a turn and kicked the door shut with his hooves.

In the last image, he saw the bubble contracting and expanding like a breath.

"BOOM!!!"

The massive explosion, even muffled by the copper door, was terrifying to the core.

The entire Great Cathedral trembled, with dust and fragnts from the ceiling falling ceaselessly.

And the copper door, thick as city gates, deford under the impact, bending toward Liu Zheng’s side.

He quickly ran toward the other end of the corridor, but after a few ters, all he saw was a cloud of mist.

His intuition frantically warned him that entering the fog recklessly would only lead to bad outcos.

So Liu Zheng had no choice but to stop in his tracks and lean against the wall.

Fortunately, after the assault on the door, the explosion inside the ritual hall was finally drawing to a close, and the shaking quickly ca to a stop.

Just as he was about to check the ritual hall, the fog on both sides of the corridor swiftly moved toward him, as if trying to pincer him.

Liu Zheng was about to take action when he suddenly felt dizzy.

He clutched his head, which felt like a thousand bells were ringing inside it, yet without a trace of sound.

"Ugh..."

He closed his eyes instinctively and, upon opening them, saw Alia’s back in front of him.

At the mont, she was gently shaking a bell that looked like a trumpet, from the bottom of which black vapor continued to drift down.

"You have awakened."

Seeming to sense Liu Zheng opening his eyes, she stopped shaking the bell.

He looked at his own body, noting that the wounds caused by the light bubble were healing rapidly.

It seed that his true self had entered that Dream World, or perhaps the wounds in the Dream World were reflected in reality.

"You have successfully completed the hunt, Hunter. Congratulations."

Alia said softly.

"I am not a Hunter."

Liu Zheng shook his head.

Though the Hunter’s attire was quite handso, his delivery uniform wasn’t bad either.

"Ah, I’m sorry, I’ve grown accustod to addressing you that way."

Alia sincerely apologized.

"It’s alright, I forgive you. After all, at your age, it’s normal to have senile dentia. I recomnd doing Sudoku in your spare ti; it’s great for preventing dentia."

Liu Zheng waved his hand and said.

"...Is this the usual way of communication outside?"

Alia’s tone seed a bit shaky.

"Yeah, we in the tropolis communicate just like this, candidly."

He said earnestly.

"Can you tell about the fight?"

Thinking of her own longevity, Alia decided to skip over the topic.

Discussing manners with this guy once would cost more than ten sessions of the highest level of Blood Healing.

"Sure."

Liu Zheng nodded.

"I just did this, that, and then this again, and it was dead."

He detailed his experience in the Dream World, except for the content of his conversation with Dickens.

After all, if Alia knew that he knew the Beast was Dickens, she would most certainly kill him to silence him.

Even though Liu Zheng wasn’t afraid, if things could be settled peacefully, there was no need to add complications.

"Holy Blood..."

Alia gripped the golden pendant tightly and murmured to herself, lost in thought.

"I suggest you minimize the use of Blood Healing. Though I don’t know where the blood you use cos from, the source mustn’t be anything good."

Out of sympathy for the Yate residents, he still offered a warning.

"Without Blood Healing, many people with terminal illnesses would be dead already. The population of Yate was greatly reduced in the last Pale Night, and many of the current Yate residents have moved here from other places seeking treatnt."

Alia shook her head.

"Moreover, even if the spread of Beastification Disease in New Atlantis is due to Blood Healing, the Church has already beco unable to stop it."

"Because the source of the Beastification Disease lies elsewhere."

Facing Liu Zheng, who had successfully hunted Dickens, Alia finally disclosed so genuine information.
