Of course, whether I’ll acknowledge it afterward is a different matter.

"Then I’m extrely grateful to Minister Liu Tong."

While Liu Zheng made polite small talk, he watched Liu Tong insert the water grass into his chest.

The water grass drilled through his novelty costu, then Liu Zheng’s epidermis, and continued on to burrow into his heart.

"Hmm?"

Liu Tong seed to sense sothing was off, his gaze fixed intently on the wound as it began to heal.

"May I take action now, Minister Liu Tong?"

Liu Zheng asked calmly.

"You may."

Liu Tong withdrew his gaze and said.

Now, completing the job takes priority, everything else can be dealt with later.

"However, you still need to prove your strength first."

If incapable, getting killed in retaliation by a clay figure would just be wasting a target for fire sharing.

"No problem. Ti is of the essence, can I prove it in the simplest way possible?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"What way?"

"Just stand still and let chop you once, Minister Liu Tong."

He said with a smile.

"...Agreed."

Liu Tong said after a mont of silence.

"Alright..."

Before Liu Zheng could finish speaking, the Slaughter Knife was already swinging towards Liu Tong’s neck.

With a fierce expression and a violent gust of wind from the knife, this posture was clearly not just to prove strength, but an intent to directly behead the opponent.

"Is this all you’ve got?"

However, faced with the ferocious strike, Liu Tong showed a look of disappointnt.

Though decent, it was just that—decent, sothing you could find a lot of in the Massage Departnt.

Wanting to play the hero with such a level, he really wanted to say to Liu Zheng,

"Do you even qualify?"

Liu Tong reached out his hand, intending to perform a barehanded-blade-snatch followed by a slap to Liu Zheng, to teach this ignorant newcor a lesson.

But the mont he extended his hand, the water grass in his palm abruptly curled up on its own.

"Not good!"

Liu Tong’s complexion drastically changed.

The water grass that covered his body was both a part of him and an independent life form.

When they sense mortal danger, they would react instinctively.

Liu Tong reacted swiftly, sensing sothing amiss, he imdiately extended his other arm, changing from a single palm to a cross of both arms.

"Triple Grass Shield!"

He shouted loudly.

All the water grass retracted into Liu Tong’s body, exposing the tender red flesh which looked quite appetizing.

In the next second, the water grass explosively grew from the outer sides of his arms, entwining into three layers of shield-like growths, large to small, resembling a Christmas tree.

"Crack~"

The Slaughter Knife struck the shield, emitting a sound like breaking a biscuit.

Liu Tong’s arms were slightly forced down, then imdiately lifted again.

As he had assessed, the opponent’s strength wasn’t that great.

But why, then, were the water grasses so terrified?

A flicker of doubt crossed Liu Tong’s mind, and soon enough, he learned the reason.

"Power Splitting Huashan!"

Liu Zheng gathered strength midair, concentrating all his power onto the Slaughter Knife.

"Crack!"

The sound of snapping biscuits echoed again as the first layer of the smaller shield was split in two.

"Crack!"

The second layer of the middle-sized shield also cracked in response.

Staring back in horror t with fiery eyes, from Liu Zheng’s gaze, Liu Tong seed to hear his proclamation.

"Vice Minister, do I qualify now?"

Thoughts racing, in the blink of an eye, Liu Tong still made a decision.

He stomped his feet forcefully and his figure burst backwards in retreat.

However, the Triple Grass Shield didn’t follow with his legs but remained suspended in mid-air to cover his retreat.

"Crack!"

The third layer, the largest shield, was also cleaved in two.

The Slaughter Knife’s montum unabated, Liu Zheng slamd directly into the ground with it.

"Damn!"

He cursed while touching his broken chin, then stood up.

"What kind of knife is this?"

Liu Tong asked with a grave expression.

The opponent’s strength was definitely not enough to cut through the shield; he hadn’t felt any extraordinary power either, so it must be an issue with the knife itself.

"I don’t know either, it was given to by soone else."

Liu Zheng shrugged his shoulders and said.

Although it looked like a Slaughter Knife, who knew what a White Feather Chicken was actually used for?

With so many serrations on it, it could be pretty handy for combing San Huamao’s fur.

"You don’t even know its na?"

In Fusang culture, every weapon has its own na.

Only by knowing the true na of a weapon can one gain its recognition and unleash its true strength.

"It’s called ’Spirit of Self-Consumption’"

He replied.

"Good na. It’s a good knife, train well in your sword technique in the future, and do not let it down."

Liu Tong stood with his hands behind his back; if one ignored the fine cuts of flesh on him, he could be mistaken for a seasoned expert.

"Okay, Departnt Head Liu Tong, I will train hard in the future."

Liu Zheng accepted the advice modestly.

"Hmm, I acknowledge your strength, go get to work."

Liu Tong nodded and said.

"Alrighty."

Carrying the Slaughter Knife, he headed towards the bathhouse.

As he passed by, everyone made way for him.

They knew Liu Tong’s strength; those Triple Grass Shields couldn’t be broken even with a cannon, let alone a sword.

And yet, Liu Zheng managed to cut through three layers with a single swing, seemingly effortlessly; the knife’s horror was beyond imagination.

At the sa ti, a glint of greed appeared in their eyes.

Such a fine knife in the hands of such an unworthy human was such a waste; they would have to find a way to get their hands on it.

Of course, they wouldn’t dare to snatch it forcefully, but cheating in a gamble was sothing they had done many tis.

Liu Zheng paid no attention to the glances cast his way and strode quickly toward the bathhouse.

As he walked, he felt too slow and simply started to run.

The heavy footsteps echoed in the empty and silent hall, matched with the exaggerated form of the Slaughter Knife, emanating an unstoppable montum.

Yaoji stared at his receding figure, the corners of her eyes stretched to the point of painful tearing, yet she didn’t mind at all.

"Sister, is this the figure you imagined?"

She muttered to herself.

Under everyone’s gaze, Liu Zheng got closer and closer to the bathhouse.

The clay figures, however, had no reaction and were chanically going about their pre-death tasks.

"Sorry, friend, to borrow your body for a mont."

He ran up to the nearest clay figure and raised the Slaughter Knife.

Confronted by the Slaughter Knife, the clay figure finally reacted.

It slowly turned, spewing a woman’s head from a hole on top.

The woman’s head was caked in mud with nails, wire, bottle caps, and other rubbish embedded in the flesh, but her facial features were vaguely recognisable.

"It’s San Tiao."

Yaoji shifted her gaze from Liu Zheng and recognized the woman’s identity.

She didn’t get along well with San Tiao, who often acted passive-aggressively out of jealousy towards her.

But since the other had never physically hard her, and they had worked together for a long ti, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness for the fallen.

"Can you help pour so water? Just one more bucket and I can change back."

San Tiao spoke.

"Don’t believe her."

Yaoji warned urgently.

Those eaten by a tiger beca ghosts, using sweet words to lure travellers to the tiger; these clay figures were no different.

"Sure."

However, Liu Zheng nodded as if he hadn’t heard the warning at all.

"This idiot!"

Yaoji was both anxious and angry, pulling out a playing card from her pocket.

Yet the pattern on the card wasn’t one of the common forty-eight, but depicted a moon reflected in water.

It was a tip given to her by a custor; stick the playing card on the ground, and a puddle will form.

If she reached into the puddle, she could pull out the specified target from it.

If there was a moon in the sky, Yaoji could even jump into the puddle and reappear on the nearest water surface.

It was an excellent item for both offensive and escape strategies.

Plus, she liked its design so much that she always kept it close, never willing to exchange it for anything better.

Yet, when Liu Zheng was in danger, she didn’t hesitate to take it out.

But just as Yaoji was about to slap the playing card onto the ground, Liu Zheng swiftly brought down his knife, splitting San Tiao, head and body, into two halves.

"This water is too clean, the guest surely won’t like it; I’ll fetch you another bucket."

He picked up the bucket, threw the clear water aside, and then scooped up San Tiao’s dissolving body into it.
