Now reading: Chapter 499 - 396 I Eat, I Eat, I Damn Well Eat Eat Eat from The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?, a Fantasy novel by Runaway Bottle.

Liu Zheng strained his eyes, trying to locate the true form of Da Chuanliu.

However, all he could see was a stretch of muddy terrain.

"That’s right."

Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he took out a grayish-white glass eyeball.

"Na: Peeping Eye"

"Type: Equipnt"

"Quality: Excellent"

"Effect: Enhances Perception by 2 points, with a chance to see through the hidden layers of objects."

"Note: What’s this? Let press it and see."

He had never used this item since he got it from Yate because having too high Perception in a place like tropolis isn’t always a good thing.

Although the chance for the effect of an excellent quality equipnt to occur probably isn’t very high, and it might not even et the conditions to trigger the effect.

But since there was no better option at the mont, he might as well treat a dead horse like a living one.

Liu Zheng forcefully parted the greasy mud and inserted the fake eye into his right eye socket.

After a slight sensation of pressure, he closed his left eye and opened his right eye.

The originally brownish-yellow world turned a shade of gray and white, and he rotated his eyeball, looking for any potential anomalies.

"Huh?"

To his surprise, Liu Zheng indeed made a discovery.

In the expanse of gray and white, a stubborn patch of brownish-yellow stood out with a strong presence.

He didn’t know what it was, but since he had seen it, he couldn’t let it slip by.

Liu Zheng forcefully moved his tentacles and kicked his legs, displaying skilled dog paddle swimming techniques.

Although dog paddling is not only strenuous but also inefficient, with his non-human physical attributes, he could easily outpace world-class swimrs.

Unfortunately, that would be in a normal swimming pool.

In this mire, a nightmare for swimrs, his efforts were in vain.

"What should I do?"

Realizing that he was rely floundering in place, Liu Zheng stopped.

It’s a pity that the bombs he got from the Nightingale were gone. Otherwise, he could have detonated one. Even if it couldn’t blast open the muck, it could still be used as a booster.

Well, speaking of boosters...

Liu Zheng had an epiphany and looked towards his Slaughter Knife and his four tentacles.

It is known that the Slaughter Knife can slice through gluey mud.

It is also known that he has four tentacles that can rotate freely.

So, what can he obtain from this?

The answer is, a propeller.

Liu Zheng put away everything else, grabbed the Slaughter Knife with all four tentacles, and started to swing it clockwise.

The blade easily cut through the mud, and the tentacles followed the opening created by the knife in a circular motion.

"It’s working!"

Feeling the thrust from in front of him, his face lit up with surprise.

He then accelerated the swinging of the knife without hesitation.

As the propeller stirred, the surrounding mud also began to move, creating a small vortex within the muck.

And Liu Zheng noticed that the mud near him didn’t seem as sticky and smooth anymore.

"Could it be that by making this mud swirl, it will lose its original properties?"

Liu Zheng caught on and then proceeded to swing the Slaughter Knife even more intensely, completely disregarding the tearing pain and soreness in his tentacle muscles.

Rhabdomyolysis was no big deal to him. It would be a severe acute condition for an ordinary person, but for soone like him, it was nothing more than a light injury.

A mix of Black Mountain Goat Cub and Innate excessive exercise physique, his body was like that of a holy avatar against overexertion.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh~"

With Liu Zheng’s reckless spinning, his body moved sub-like through the water.

Regrettably, since he was moving in a reverse direction, he could only look left and right to observe his surroundings.

Fortunately, Liu Zheng’s target was clear, and this didn’t affect him much.

As he delved deeper, the conditions of the surrounding mud started to change.

The density of the mud gradually decreased, the fishy sll sharply increased, and the odor beca more complex.

If previously it slled like a combination of earthy, rotten, and fishy scents, now it included gasoline, industrial wastewater, and the odor of fernting organics, among others.

It bore so resemblance to the sll of the Underwater River, but with subtle differences.

Liu Zheng knew he was probably on the right track.

"Clang!"

Suddenly, the Slaughter Knife struck against sothing hard, emitting a piercing clang.

Feeling the vibration through the blade, Liu Zheng looked towards the source of the sound, where a large nut hung suspended in the mud, immobile.

Thankfully, it was a propeller and solid enough. If it had been a jet engine and the nut got caught in it, it would have been ruined.

"Uh, no, that’s not right."

He shook his slightly swollen head, wondering why he was starting to think of himself as a submarine.

At the sa ti, Liu Zheng grew more cautious; it seed like the mire was beginning to affect his mind.

"I need to speed up."

He started spinning the Slaughter Knife again and turned his head more frequently, keeping an eye on the mud conditions behind him.

When you find a cockroach in a room, you’re bound to find more cockroaches.

Similarly, after finding one piece of trash in the mire, he saw many more.

Sure enough, a little further in, he keenly spotted several different kinds of small trash.

"Trying to scam ? No way."

Liu Zheng raised his hoof and kicked away.

"Damn!"

His left hoof struck a tal bottle cap, feeling as if he had kicked a mountain, while the right hoof felt almost the sa after hitting a glass ball.

No wonder his Slaughter Knife had failed to send that nut flying earlier.

Facing insurmountable obstacles, the best course of action is to avoid them outright.

But looking around, Liu Zheng noticed similar trash in other directions as well.

If he couldn’t avoid or break through them, what was he to do?

Liu Zheng thought back on his previous experiences and ca up with an idea.
