"You’re sothing else, little brother. Just one look, and I can tell you’re destined for big things. When you strike it rich and climb to greatness, don’t forget about your big brother here."

The old security guard said enthusiastically.

"No problem. Once I make it, I’ll buy your company, make you the manager, and have your manager working under you."

He laughed heartily.

"That’s a great deal, heh heh heh. So here’s the plan—little brother, go talk to that woman right now. As long as you can handle her, I promise I’ll take care of everything else for you."

The old security guard bead brightly.

"Should I talk to her face-to-face or call her on the phone?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"Of course, call her on the phone, little brother. If you talk to her face-to-face, wouldn’t she tear you apart seventeen or eighteen tis over?"

"Right, right, it’s true—big brother, you’ve got the experience."

He said with admiration.

"Ah, talking too much about this... is just heartbreaking. I’ll give you her phone number; call her now."

The old security guard wiped his eyes dramatically.

"Got it."

Liu Zheng dialed the number that the old security guard dictated and got through to the woman.

"Who is it? Calling at this hour, what a bother."

The woman’s booming voice ca through.

"It’s , the delivery guy. Big sister, do you rember ?"

He forced himself to speak, suppressing his discomfort.

"Oh, it’s you, young man. What’s up? Have you figured it out and decided to follow to enjoy so good days?"

The woman’s tone softened considerably.

"Good days? More like days that no human should endure..."

Liu Zheng grumbled internally, but outwardly he said with a smile, "Everyone wants good days, but unfortunately, I’m too busy to have that kind of luck. I’m calling this ti to ask for your help, big sister."

"What do you want now, human?"

The voice of the British Minister suddenly chid in.

"Huh? British Minister, how co you two are together?"

"Don’t play dumb."

The British Minister replied curtly.

"Heh heh. Busy with sothing, are you two?"

He asked without a trace of embarrassnt.

"It’s nothing. Go ahead, brother. Let him move on his own."

The woman took over the conversation.

"Hmph! Little test tube, watch fill you to the brim."

The British Minister growled nacingly, followed by indescribable sounds.

"Look, there’s sothing I’d like you to help with, big sister."

Liu Zheng pretended he hadn’t heard anything and laid out the old security guard’s suggestion.

"Ah, that’s it. I thought you wanted to introduce to soone new. Fine, sister agrees."

The woman said nonchalantly.

"What, am I not enough for you?"

The British Minister protested indignantly.

"Oh, you’re nothing but brute force. People are scared you’ll ruin ."

The woman purred flirtatiously.

"Hmph, I won’t just ruin you—I’ll till the very soil beneath you."

With stolen techniques and an untad tongue, the British Minister unleashed rapid strikes, wild growth, deadly rhythms, dragon collisions, and the cadence of war—all to overwhelming effect.

"Big sister, could you do it now? I’m a bit rushed here."

Liu Zheng turned a deaf ear and spoke lightly.

"Fine, fine. Since sister spoils you the most, I’ll handle it now. But when are you going to have a al with ? Sister wants to chat with you."

The woman replied.

"Next ti—next ti I’ll treat you, big sister."

He quickly hung up the phone, wiping cold sweat from his forehead.

Man, in just a few sentences, the pressure that woman put on Liu Zheng was even heavier than Niu Ma’s.

"Told you, right? One phone call scared you like this—face-to-face, you’d be scared to death."

The old security guard comnted, looking at his expression.

"I admire you, brother—you saw it coming."

Liu Zheng raised his thumbs in approval.

"Ah, forget it. Let’s have so tea, so tea."

The two drank tea for a while, and then the old security guard’s phone rang.

"Hang tight, brother. Big brother’s gotta take this call."

He waved his phone with a smile.

"No problem. You go ahead, big brother. By the way, can I read these newspapers?"

Liu Zheng glanced at the newspapers on the table and asked.

"Anything on the table is fair ga; don’t touch anything elsewhere. Not that I’m stingy—it’s stuff the tenants paid for. ssing with it wouldn’t go well for you."

The old security guard explained.

"Got it, big brother. Don’t worry—I’m not the type who can’t keep their hands to themselves."

"I didn’t think you were."

The old security guard said as he left the room.

Liu Zheng watched him leave and then casually picked up a newspaper and started flipping through it.

"Shocking! A mass slaughter in the Old City District—millions wiped out by one individual."

"Whoa, that’s a spicy opener."

He grinned, drawn in by the headline.

"’All exterminated’—a housekeeping company conducted pest control services at an elderly woman’s ho in the Old City District yesterday, successfully exterminating over 2 million cockroaches..."

"Tch~"

Liu Zheng elongated the sound dismissively.

As expected, tropolis journalism remains a master of clickbait headlines.

Though, when you think about it, cockroaches in tropolis might genuinely be sentient beings, so the headline might not be entirely false.

He skimd a few other newspapers, finding their content largely similar.

Their reporting style and focus were comparable to the real world, though even more outdated in so respects—a distinctly tropolis trait.

"Hmm?"

Liu Zheng finally stumbled upon an interesting report.

"City Hall announces updates to the lotto jackpot pool—tropolis braces for a new scratch-card frenzy."

After a few generic sentences of filler, the article gave a brief overview of the changes to the prize pool.

The first thing that stood out was the change to the grand prize.

Previously, the grand prize was a dinner with the Supre Councilman; now, it had been changed to a set of handwritten manuscripts by the Supre Councilman.

This change was indeed intriguing.

A dinner with the Supre Councilman was undoubtedly a rare opportunity, but the handwritten manuscripts were an exceptionally precious collectible.

Frankly, if Liu Zheng chose to sell them, he could probably bankrupt the French Plane Tree estates.

Still, that wasn’t the real point of interest.

What intrigued him was the speculation about the Writers Association—how its President rarely appeared, its vice presidents were facing creative stagnation, and the Association’s late years carried an air of decline.

Was the Supre Councilman planning to step in personally, seeing the Association falter?

Or could the mysterious President of the Writers Association actually be the Supre Councilman himself?

Liu Zheng suppressed his curiosity—secrets of this magnitude were too risky to dwell on. It was better to know less.

Setting aside that speculation, the prize change was advantageous for him.

After all, he wasn’t an original resident of tropolis. In so respects, he was more of a smuggler.

It seed that entities like Bloody Restaurant and the sewer-level factions hadn’t yet seen through this, or even if they had, they hadn’t exposed him for their own reasons.

But the Supre Councilman occupied a tier far too high for him to feel confident about escaping unnoticed.

So, when it ca to prizes, the manuscripts felt safer and more tangible than a dinner.

As he continued reading, another notable prize caught his eye.

In the special prize pool, a new prize had been added—an enrollnt slot at City First Primary School, with all fees waived.

"City First Primary School—sounds like a highly prestigious institution."

Liu Zheng muttered.

"Of course it’s prestigious."

The old security guard had sohow returned.

"How prestigious are we talking about? Big brother, can you fill in?"

He asked.

"You an you don’t know about City First Primary School, little brother?"

The old security guard looked astonished.

"I co from a little village outside the city—haven’t seen much of the world. Big brother, you know a lot. Please, tell about it."

"Tsk tsk tsk. Little brother, with your deanor, you don’t look like you’re from the countryside at all. Alright, let explain."

The old security guard threw in a bit of flattery before diving into his explanation.

As it turned out, City First Primary School was a direct subordinate of City Hall, with the principal personally appointed by the Cultural and Educational Departnt head. In terms of teaching quality and environnt, it was the best in tropolis—even surpassing elite private schools.

Moreover, students of City First Primary School could directly advance to City First Middle School, as long as they passed internal exams.

Securing a place at City First Middle School was practically a foot in the door to top universities.

And as for a university degree—it was ridiculously valuable. Just having one ant you could almost certainly land a temporary job at City Hall.

During the transition from temp to full-ti employee, a university degree was one of the most significant factors.

"If I could get my grandson a spot in City First Primary School, my son and daughter-in-law would bow down to thank every day."

The old security guard embellished dramatically.

"I see."

Liu Zheng rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
