"That Flower Monk."

The driver said.

"Flower Monk? Oh, I get it, the one who fakes their death."

Liu Zheng suddenly realized.

One chop and his body starts emitting lotus petals; calling him Flower Monk doesn’t seem off.

"Can he move now?"

He asked.

"Not moving, just glaring at , probably trying to kill with sheer eye power."

The driver joked.

"What, he dares to stare at the Colonel? I’m heading out right now to straighten him up."

Liu Zhengyi said, enraged, and climbed out of the tank.

Gripping the Slaughter Knife, he stepped onto the lava-like ground, walking towards the Great Monk step by step.

The Great Monk remained in a ditative position, though his face showed no signs of serenity—instead, it was nacingly twisted.

"Getting worked up already? Your Buddhist Law isn’t cultivated thoroughly enough."

Liu Zheng mocked.

The Great Monk had countless sharp thoughts in his mind, but besides chanting scripture, he couldn’t speak. Liu Zheng couldn’t process electronic communications either, so all those words were locked within his artificial vocal cords, nearly overheating his CPU with frustration.

"At that ti, the Saintess provided many conveniences, trying to persuade her mother to develop correct views. Yet the mother of this girl did not fully believe and soon died, her soul plunging into the Avici Hell..."

Though he was anxious, his chanting of the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra" remained impeccably steady, showcasing his prowess in scripture recitation.

"I don’t know if souls fall into the Avici Hell, but you’re definitely dying."

Liu Zheng raised the Slaughter Knife, grinding it against his tentacle twice, aiming at the Great Monk’s neck.

"Next ti, don’t be a human trafficker."

"Clang!"

Liu Zheng perford a Power Splitting Huashan strike, chopping at the Green Lotus Petal.

"Clang, clang, clang!"

Unphased, Liu Zheng struck several more tis, cutting the Green Lotus Petal into countless rays of Buddhist light.

As he chopped, the Great Monk chanted his scripture, and the sounds rged into a strangely harmonious blend.

"Kind of like ndelssohn’s concerto."

The driver comnted.

"I think it’s more like Brahms’ C minor."

The nightingale shook her head.

"Hmm? Hmm, true."

After listening for a bit longer, the driver nodded in agreent.

Whether a concerto or C minor, every piece of music eventually cos to an end.

"At that ti, all ten directions, innurable Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Heavenly Dragon Eight Divisions heard the praises and acclaims of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva..."

"Hey, you’re almost done chanting, aren’t you?"

Liu Zheng hadn’t read the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra," but his sensitivity to words tipped him off.

"Too bad, I’m still quicker."

He reversed his tentacle and smashed the 1000th Green Lotus Petal.

Underneath the Great Monk appeared the faint outline of a green lotus platform, quivering briefly before dissipating.

"At that mont, Trayastrimsa Heaven..."

Liu Zheng swung again, slicing off the Great Monk’s head. Sparks flew from the prosthetic, and the artificial head rolled several ters away, yet the chanting didn’t stop.

"Impressive, you even packed a backup power source, huh?"

He stepped forward, wielding the Slaughter Knife and hacking at the Great Monk’s head until all components were diced into bits.

"Namo Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva..."

The chanting ceased abruptly.

"So hard to kill."

Liu Zheng sighed.

Counting the number of strikes, the Great Monk alone had taken more than all his previous enemies combined.

"Namo Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mahayana."

Just as he was about to clean up the battlefield, chanting erupted once again from the remains of the Great Monk.

"Holy crap, not dead yet?"

He prepared to deliver the final blow but noticed the QR code on the Great Monk flickering wildly, emitting unstable glimrs that induced unease.

Trusting his instincts, Liu Zheng perford a lazy donkey roll, diving into a nearby crater.

"BOOM!"

As he lay inside the crater, a gust of sharp wind swept across his face. The previously quiet night sky reerged in a vibrant glow of Buddhist light.

"Non-original bodies sure are reckless, self-detonating whenever things get tricky."

Liu Zheng shook his head.

"Colonel, are they dead for good?"

He shouted loudly.

"Dead for good."

The driver replied.

"Alright then."

He climbed out of the crater, finding a large pit where the Great Monk had been monts ago.

The Great Monk himself, naturally, had been torn apart without a trace.

"I still can’t figure out if they’re truly dead or not."

Liu Zheng shook his head.

Based on how electronic lifeforms were depicted in those artsy works, they should all have data backups.

From the opponent’s actions, though, it seed like artificial body death wasn’t entirely trivial—let’s just count him as dead.

Looking around, there didn’t seem to be much worth cleaning up. Anything salvageable had already been obliterated in the blast.

After so thought, he swept the leftover golden body scraps into the Legendary Takeout Box.

These were items that managed to survive an air raid; they might, possibly, perhaps, have so use?

In reality, isn’t gold leaf sotis used for culinary purposes? These golden body fragnts should be much more deluxe compared to gold leaf, right?

"Say, shouldn’t there be a hotline for reporting things to the Security Departnt?"

Back in the tank, Liu Zheng mused aloud.

"There is."

The nightingale replied.

"Do you have anyone in the Security Departnt?"

"I know soone, though his rank isn’t high—just a deputy section chief."

The nightingale thought for a mont and answered.

"Pretty high. Hmph, eating potatoes every day must’ve made you forget you’re a proper young lady."

Silver Wolf struggled desperately just to make it to deputy section chief, yet in the nightingale’s eyes, it was just "only," which had a bit of irony.

"It is pretty large. Want to touch it?"

The nightingale puffed her chest.

"Forget it, I’m afraid you’ll smack in the face with a snake."
