When Tang Feifei realized this, she was stunned.
She wasn't jealous of Qiu Tu, but the panic that she might "lose" Qiu Tu was real.
So, after much deliberation, she decided to "put on a play."
She knew that Liu Xiongyuan had gone into seclusion and couldn't help Qiu Tu, so she was certain that Qiu Tu would co to her for help.
Therefore, she made a decisive move and planned everything for Qiu Tu in advance.
Then, when Qiu Tu ca to her, she would pretend to be angry and give him the cold shoulder.
After making Qiu Tu anxious, she would then tell him everything she had done for him, making him feel guilty and moved.
To be honest, Tang Feifei wasn't good at scheming or manipulating people's emotions.
Last night was her first attempt, and it was against Qiu Tu, soone close to her, which made her feel incredibly guilty....
This was also why she had been in and out seven tis, yet still got up early for morning practice...
'Alas... I'm still not strong enough. If I were the Bureau Chief, the Deputy Speaker, or even the Speaker, I wouldn't need to resort to such despicable thods...'
For a mont, Tang Feifei's punches beca heavier, and her wheat-colored face took on a more serious expression!
However, what she didn't know was....
She had just left the bedroom when Qiu Tu woke up.
Lying in bed, Qiu Tu first lit a candle for his waist, mourning its breakdown once again….
Imdiately after, Qiu Tu crossed his hands behind his head and pondered over the words and actions of Tang Feifei from last night.
Tang Feifei wasn't soone who was skilled at lying.
And Qiu Tu was exactly soone who was exceptionally good at lying.
Besides, the two were almost at a zero distance at that ti.
So, when Tang Feifei said that everything she did was for him, Qiu Tu quickly sensed sothing amiss with Tang Feifei.
His perceptive mind almost instantly guessed where Tang Feifei had lied.
He theorized that Tang Feifei's arrangents for him weren't that simple-hearted.
Either she realized that she was starting to lose control and wanted to bind him with emotions, making him feel guilty and moved;
Or.... the Tang family was too covetous of the benefits from the "Boundless Heart Sea Developnt Plan" and thus used Tang Feifei to "kidnap" him.
— Tang Feifei had made promises to her family to share the benefits with them, so how could Qiu Tu let her break her promise to her family?
But both scenarios were good news for Qiu Tu. The forr signified that he was becoming more and more important to Tang Feifei.
Professionally, Qiu Tu could leverage Tang Feifei's resources even more; personally, Qiu Tu could unlock even more of Tang Feifei's "positions."....
The latter, on the other hand, indicated that the Tang family didn't see assisting Qiu Tu as an opportunity to recruit him but rather as a "transaction."
That way, Qiu Tu wouldn't be forced to join the "Fengtian Faction" and could continue down the "Reformist Faction" path.
Of course, if the "Reformist Faction" path ca to an end, Qiu Tu wouldn't mind jumping onto the "Fengtian Faction" path and freeload.
Or... he could rge the two factions.
Of course, for the still-weak Qiu Tu, all these were too far away.
Right now, he just hoped that the "Fengtian Faction" could properly secure his position as Head of the Political Departnt….
Thinking this, Qiu Tu couldn't help but look up at the newborn sun rising outside the window.
He rembered Tang Feifei saying that this morning the "General Investigation Bureau's" Organizational Departnt would hold a small eting to discuss the candidates for the Head of the Xinjie City Investigation Bureau Political Departnt.
'So... theoretically, there should be a result by this afternoon?'
With that thought, Qiu Tu was montarily lost in thought....
...
8:30 in the morning.
The Eighth Sanctuary.
This is the core of the entire Cataclysmic world's northwest region, the sacred place in the hearts of the people from the northwest.
If the Disaster Zone is considered a ruin and the Planning Area is perceived as the worn-out city waiting for revival, barely showing any traces of pre-Cataclysm civilization,
Then... the Eight Great Shelters are the continuation of the sparks of civilization from before the Cataclysm.
Skyscrapers rise abruptly like colossal beasts, piercing the sky.
The shining glass facades under the sunlight flicker with srizing and dazzling light and shadow, like ladders leading to heaven, reflecting the prosperity and bustle of the Sanctuary....
The Eighth Sanctuary, the General Investigation Bureau is located in a skyscraper right at the center of the Sanctuary.
At this ti, at the 16th floor of the bureau building, in the Organizational Departnt's Conference Room No. 1.
The several attendees of the Organizational Departnt walked silently inside.
Normally, as the departnt in charge of all subordinate Investigation Bureau positions, the atmosphere should be relaxed and comfortable.
But for so reason, the faces of the attendees today seed a bit more solemn.
There were not many people attending today, just the Head of the Cadre Division Yang Zaiwen, the three Deputy Heads of the Organizational Departnt Zhen Lie, ng Sanzhai, Zhou Jingfu, and the Director of the Organizational Departnt Yue Zaitian.
Yang Zaiwen, Zhen Lie, ng Sanzhai, and Zhou Jingfu, the four of them entered the office first.
They didn't engage in the usual casual chat as they normally would but instead leafed through docunts.
After a short while of this, the Director of the Organizational Departnt Yue Zaitian arrived late, accompanied by his secretary.
He was a man who seed to be in his fifties with speckled white hair, a steady deanor, and a serious aura.
Upon entering the conference room, Yue Zaitian gave the four a slight nod and then spoke slowly, "I apologize... I just got off the phone with Councillor Huang and talked a bit longer, which is why I'm late."
Yue Zaitian, a graduate of The Eighth Sanctuary Military Academy, is one of the high-ranking mbers of the Academic Faction.
When the General Investigation Bureau was first established, he was appointed as Deputy Director of the Organizational Departnt as the representative of the "Military Academy."
