The single-patient hospital rooms are divided into two types.
One type is the ordinary single-patient room familiar to most people. Its layout is similar to double and triple-patient rooms, but it contains only one sick bed and has additional anities for guests.
However, these single rooms are currently no different from other double and triple-patient rooms because the vacancy rate in all hospital rooms in the ward exceeds seventy percent. Consequently, any admitted patient essentially receives single-room treatnt.
The other type isn't technically called a single room, nor is it located in the various wards. Instead, these rooms, known as recuperation rooms, are grouped together on a dedicated floor.
There aren't many, just five.
But each of these five rooms is incredibly luxurious.
They have living rooms, bedrooms, private bathrooms, shower equipnt, and, of course, televisions and computers.
The overall decoration is similar to that of hotel suites.
And there are differences among these five rooms: each has a unique decor, such as an elite business style, cartoon baby rooms, and so on.
The establishnt of this floor and its ward was the initiative of the forr Director Liu, and the decoration style was also his decision.
In fact, given the current state of developnt at the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital, this whole setup was clearly superfluous, completely unnecessary.
However, since it already existed, Du Heng wouldn't demolish it and waste more money.
Moreover, leaving it as is provided him with a tool to manage so of his colleagues. Why else would they be so compliant?
What Jin Juan was referring to were these recuperation rooms. So, she and the head nurse didn't wander around the hospital rooms in the Obstetrics Departnt but went directly to this recuperation ward.
"Head Nurse, which room do you think would be better?"
"If you ask , I'd choose Room 3, the cartoon children's room. It's decorated in warm tones, which can enhance a new mother's maternal affection and also help reduce post-partum depression and feelings of emptiness. I think it's quite good."
Jin Juan hesitated for a mont. "Let's go check the last room again. Although it's decorated in a hoy style, its location is good—more secluded—and the room itself is larger."
"You have a point. Since Director Wu's daughter-in-law is giving birth, there will surely be many visitors. Choosing a more secluded room would be better for everyone."
Just as the two of them reached the door of the hospital room and were about to push it open, they heard voices and sounds of retching from inside. They imdiately stopped.
Soone's in there? When did this happen? Which departnt?
The two of them were a bit confused but returned to the floor's nurse station.
"Is there soone in Room 5?"
"Yes, there's a patient in there; they were admitted four days ago. Have you chosen a room, Director Jin? Once you've decided, please register here, and we'll go clean it shortly."
Jin Juan thought for a mont and nodded. "Let's book Room 3 then." She took out her mobile phone and, looking at the ssage from Lu Guangying, slowly filled out the registration form handed to her by the nurse.
"Which departnt is the patient from? Why haven't we heard about anyone being admitted to this floor recently?"
"President Du's patient."
Jin Juan's hand paused. "President Du's patient? What's the illness?"
"Director Jin, please don't inquire further. You know the rules of our ward: inquiring about a patient's news is strictly forbidden."
Jin Juan snorted. "This ward has only ever housed two patients before, right? One was Director Liu's father-in-law, and the other was the Secretary's niece. Since when did you have this rule you're talking about?"
"President Du gave this directive. Other departnts are also strictly forbidden from inquiring about the patient you're bringing this afternoon."
"Fine, I won't ask. But let ask one more thing: have you waived any fees for President Du's patient? If his patient's fees are waived, you'll have to reduce the bed and nursing fees for my patient a bit. The fees here are too expensive."
"No, President Du didn't even ntion it. We're charging according to the hospital's standard rates," the nurse replied decisively, shaking her head.
Jin Juan pursed her lips. "Alright then. My patient will be arriving this afternoon."
After registering the information, Jin Juan didn't linger and left with the head nurse.
"Head Nurse, who do you think President Du's patient is? How co none of us saw him admit a patient, yet he already has one?"
"Probably soone with connections. Besides, why do you care? We just need to do our own jobs."
"I'm just not happy about it. We worked overti during the May Day holiday without a break, and then he just disappears. We don't even know what he's doing."
The head nurse just smiled and didn't say anything. Among all the recent events at the hospital, the impact on the nurses was minimal. Therefore, she wouldn't get involved in these squabbles. It doesn't matter what Du Heng is doing. As long as it doesn't affect my salary, whether he cos to the hospital every day or not has nothing to do with us nurses.
So, what was Du Heng doing?
Of course, he was giving dicine to Wang Shuqiu's mother.
"Uncle, please help Auntie lie down on the bed and sleep well. When she wakes up, she'll be clear-headed."
Wang Shuqiu's father was nervous and apprehensive. "Why does she need to sleep? Can't she just sit like this?"
Du Heng shook his head. "No, this dicine contains calming and mind-awakening drugs. When it takes effect, Auntie will beco very drowsy. It's important she isn't startled and gets a good, long sleep."
"Oh, I thought she could just sit like this."
Du Heng chuckled. "This is a process of clearing phlegm and awakening the mind. If the person is awake and their attention isn't focused, it will consu more heart strength, which is detrintal to recovery."
