Outside the ward, Du Heng quietly asked Director Liu, "Can you do this surgery?"
Director Liu felt a surge of eagerness to try, but after a mont’s hesitation, she gave up. "Dean, I can do it, I know how to do it, but I dare not. Our hospital has encountered too few cases like this."
Du Heng’s cheek twitched. "Then contact Director i Dong and have him take the child back for surgery."
Director Liu was embarrassed for a mont but agreed.
After taking two steps forward, Du Heng suddenly stopped and turned around to ask, "Director Liu, if I asked you to go to the Provincial Won and Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for a while, would you be willing to go?"
Director Liu was stunned. "Is it for advanced study?"

Director Liu was silent for a mont but imdiately looked up and said, "Okay."
Du Heng smiled. "Good. I’ll ask around for you. You go in now and communicate with the family; explain the situation clearly to them."
Director Liu returned to the ward, and Du Heng continued his sowhat boring ward round.
He completed his rounds, finding them rather uneventful. Seeing that it was still early, he felt awkward about leaving work so soon, so he wandered over to the Gynecology Departnt with his hands behind his back.
He figured that since he had so ti, he could chat with Gao Qin.
Gao Qin had changed a lot in the last two months. Especially since the bed vacancy rate in the Gynecology Departnt had decreased and their inco had increased, she had beco much more serious about her work.
Today was the sa; with things quiet in the ward, she had gone straight to the outpatient service.
Du Heng leisurely strolled to the door of the Gynecology Departnt’s consultation room, looking at the people lining up at its entrance. Comparing it to the sparse crowds at other departnts, he couldn’t help but purse his lips.
Seeing that Gao Qin’s consultation room door was open and there were no patients inside, he went straight in.
"Director Gao, are you busy?" Du Heng asked.
When Gao Qin saw Du Heng enter, her face lit up with a smile; her attitude had undergone a complete turnaround compared to over a month ago.
"Dean, what brings you here?" she asked.
"I wanted to talk to you about sothing," Du Heng said, pulling up a chair opposite Gao Qin and sitting down.
"If you needed , you could have just called. There was no need for you to make the trip yourself," Gao Qin said.
"Oh, my office was occupied, so I couldn’t go back. It was rather annoying." Du Heng chuckled. "I’m not bothering you, am I?"
"No, not at all. I’m not on outpatient duty today; I just ca to oversee things." Gao Qin maintained her smile and asked politely, "What can I help you with, Dean?"
Du Heng acknowledged with a sound. "Dean Lu spoke with you, didn’t he?"
"Yes, we talked this morning."
"Then tell your thoughts."
Gao Qin hesitated for a mont, her smile fading slightly. "rging the Gynecology Departnt, Obstetrics Departnt, and the Departnt of Obstetrics and Gynecology... isn’t that a bit too ambitious?"
Du Heng shook his head. "I don’t think it’s ambitious at all. The Gynecology Departnt and Obstetrics Departnt are essentially one family. Besides, the Obstetrics Departnt currently lacks a Senior, which has always been a concern. Moreover, with its ager resources, the Obstetrics Departnt doesn’t have the grounds to be an independent departnt. As for the Departnt of Obstetrics and Gynecology, you know the situation. Du Heng sighed, a bit helpless. "For won’s regular check-ups, we have the Family Planning Guidance Departnt and the Physical Examination Center. For treating gynecological diseases, we have your Gynecology Departnt. If they saw many patients, keeping it would be fine. Gao Qin still looked a bit worried. "If the three departnts rge into one large departnt and I beco the director, I’m certainly willing. But wouldn’t the number of dical care staff beco a bit excessive? If all these people are transferred to my current Gynecology Departnt, I’m afraid the existing staff will have objections."
Du Heng tapped lightly on the tabletop with his fingers. "So, what are your thoughts?"
Gao Qin looked at Du Heng and paused for a long mont. Du Heng remained silent, gazing steadily back at her.
Finally, Gao Qin spoke. "After Dean Lu talked to this morning, I had so ideas. If we’re really going to rge, I’d like to divide the entire Obstetrics and Gynecology Departnt into four sections: Gynecology, Obstetrics, a Breast Departnt, and a Reproductive dicine Center."
Du Heng was taken aback. "A Reproductive dicine Center?"
"It’s the departnt for treating sterility and infertility," Gao Qin explained.
Du Heng suddenly understood. She put it so formally; it didn’t register at first.
Gao Qin continued, "Apart from Obstetrics, our Gynecology Departnt is already handling the other three areas. Since the number of dical care staff has increased, and they are all experienced in these fields, I was thinking of further specializing."
As she spoke, she glanced cautiously at Du Heng. According to her plan, the Gynecology Departnt would beco quite large, and she worried Du Heng might have reservations.

Gao Qin looked at Du Heng hesitantly. "Dean, if possible... could we also rge the Plastic Surgery Departnt into this?"
