Now, things had really escalated! He’s made himself look like so big celebrity. Everyone knows that an Internet Celebrity Doctor from out of town crashed the Master’s event and completely stole the show at Harmonious Ophthalmology. Especially considering that for illnesses many experts couldn’t cure, *your* one bowl of dicine and *your* one needle directly allowed patients to be discharged. You were hogging all the lilight!
It wasn’t just Zhu Minyan who knew; even a first-year student like knew about it. In my class group chat, people started forwarding photos of Du Heng in the Ophthalmology Departnt ward that afternoon. Although my Little Uncle’s actions did bring a lot of prestige to us traditional Chinese dicine students, I’m the one who has to deal with the fallout from his irresponsible behavior now. Especially seeing Zhu Minyan’s excited... no, restless state, I’m even more at a loss for words. I originally thought that with ti and distance, Zhu Minyan would move on. "Why didn’t he give a call then?" Zhu Minyan was genuinely a bit upset.
Du Xuejing cleared her throat and tried to make her smile seem less stiff. "Well, it’s like this: my Little Uncle ca with my little aunt. They’re traveling together, taking wedding photos, and will get married when they go back. He ca to the Capital for work. He arrived yesterday and was planning to leave today, but unexpectedly, so many things happened. He probably didn’t want to disturb your studies, so he didn’t tell you."
As Du Xuejing spoke, she carefully watched Zhu Minyan’s expression. However, Zhu Minyan just lowered her head, her expression not seeming to change much. Was I overthinking things? Du Xuejing suddenly doubted her own assessnt.
Just as she was about to say more, Zhu Minyan’s phone rang.

Before Du Xuejing could finish her thought, Zhu Minyan happily waved her phone screen at her. "It’s your Little Uncle’s call."
Du Xuejing was dumbfounded. Little Uncle, please, act decently! Stop leading on young girls! she silently pleaded.
"...Mhm, mhm, mhm, I have ti. Tingting and I are together right now... Okay, we’ll wait for you guys to co over."
After hanging up, Zhu Minyan said happily, "Your Little Uncle just said he’s been busy with work these past two days. He’s finished today and wants to treat to dinner."
Du Xuejing managed an awkward grin. "That’s nice. My Little Uncle is a good person."
"I think he’s a good person too."
Du Xuejing’s smile froze.
Sister, please stop thinking he’s a good person. He’s dark-skinned, has a scruffy beard, and he’s older. Plus, he’s a gynecologist now! You’re young, beautiful, have a fantastic figure, and you’re a student at the highest acade with a bright future. How can you possibly think he’s a good person?
But looking at Zhu Minyan, whose eyes were crinkling with laughter, Du Xuejing really didn’t know what to say. I can only pray now that nothing awkward happens in front of my future little aunt.
However, this particular worry was purely Du Xuejing overthinking things and underestimating Zhu Minyan.
Throughout the entire dinner, Zhu Minyan showed no sign of anything unusual. Towards the end, she and Wu Shengnan were even addressing each other warmly as ’older sister’ and ’younger sister’ and happily exchanged contact information.
After dinner, seeing that Wu Shengnan was clearly exhausted, the group didn’t suggest any other activities and went their separate ways.
On the way back, Wu Shengnan expressed how much she liked Zhu Minyan; it seed she had genuinely gained a new younger sister. Du Heng was also delighted by this. He considered Zhu Minyan a friend. The fact that his friend could get along so well with his wife, and that they both genuinely liked each other, gave him a great sense of accomplishnt.
But happiness is often fleeting. The next day, Wu Shengnan didn’t even want to get out of bed, let alone go out. If they hadn’t already paid the bridal shop, she really wouldn’t have wanted to move. Her legs were incredibly sore, and her whole body felt extrely uncomfortable.
Seeing Wu Shengnan’s condition, Du Heng felt bad himself and couldn’t help saying, "Why don’t we just skip it today? You rest, and we can go for the photoshoot tomorrow."
But Wu Shengnan firmly shook her head. "No, the studio I found is very popular. According to their schedule, we were originally supposed to wait another two weeks. I had to do a lot of persuading and even paid extra to get squeezed in for today. If we miss today, we’ll have to wait another two weeks."
"Then let’s get a refund and find another one."

Hearing Du Heng’s indignant, raised voice, Wu Shengnan looked quite helpless. "Big Brother, I’m a Jinzhou police officer. This is the Capital."
Du Heng was taken aback. "Aren’t we all in the sa country? Aren’t we all under the sa departnt head? Why is there a distinction? Are the Capital police sohow superior to Jinzhou’s police?"
Listening to Du Heng’s clueless question, Wu Shengnan didn’t even have the energy to get dressed. "Big Brother, you usually seem so smart. How can you be so clueless right now? Just rember one thing: your authority, your jurisdiction, is tied to where your job title is from. Big Brother, do you understand what I an by that?"
A quirky impulse suddenly struck Du Heng. He imdiately sidled up to Wu Shengnan, his tone slick. "This is the first ti you’ve called Big Brother! Big Brother is thrilled! Big Brother loves you!"
Seeing his face suddenly loom closer, Wu Shengnan pushed it away with her hand. "Big Brother, I don’t have the energy for romance right now. Can we please just get through the day’s appointnts first?"
"Baby calls the shots."
"You’re so oily," Wu Shengnan couldn’t help but shiver.
Du Heng, however, persisted in being slick to the end. "And I... love y-oil!" he declared.
Seeing the incorrigible Du Heng, Wu Shengnan hurriedly finished dressing and dashed towards the bathroom, calling over her shoulder, "Big Brother, you’ve changed. You’ve beco so greasy."
"Don’t you love it?"
"BLECH!" ca the reply from the bathroom.
Amidst their joking and teasing, Wu Shengnan managed to forget her exhaustion. After picking up Du Xuejing, the three of them hurried off to the wedding photography studio.
This was the first ti either of them had done a wedding photoshoot. Seeing other people’s wedding photos, they looked so beautiful and incredibly heart-stirring. But when it was their turn to stand there and pose, the feeling wasn’t good at all; in fact, it was downright awful.
Wu Shengnan had chosen many outfits, including several vintage costus. These vintage outfits were not only cumberso to put on but also very restrictive and heavy. Moreover, Wu Shengnan and Du Heng, aiming to save ti, had scheduled everything to be shot in one day, leaving no ti for breaks at all.
By afternoon, Du Heng felt his head was too heavy to lift; he even felt dizzy and nauseous. If Du Xuejing hadn’t co with them, they probably would have had to pay extra for the studio staff to drive them back.
"Baby, have you planned out the rest of the photoshoot?" Back at the hotel, Du Heng was sprawled on the bed, feeling like a dead dog.
Wu Shengnan was in a similar state. However, after wearing makeup all day, she had to take care of her skin, so she still dragged herself to the bathroom.
"It’s all planned," Wu Shengnan’s voice ca from the bathroom.
Du Heng groaned and pleaded, "Can we cancel it? Let’s just enjoy our trip and skip the rest of the photoshoots."
The bathroom fell silent. After a long mont, she said, "Alright, we’ll just do the seascape shoot. We can skip the others."
Du Heng tried to push his luck. "But seascapes can be photoshopped, right?"
"I suppose a husband could be photoshopped in for too." This ti, Wu Shengnan’s voice from the bathroom was firm, leaving no room for argunt.
Alright then. Du Heng imdiately shut his mouth. He clearly had no say in this matter anymore.
"Baby, have you decided where to do the seascape shoot?"
"The southernmost part of the motherland."
The... southern... most... part.
Du Heng’s mouth fell open, a silent protest against the suggestion.
