"You're skilled at treating patients and saving lives, but when it cos to judging character, I believe I have a slight edge over you," Wu Shengnan said, turning her head to look at Du Heng. "I've only been with the team for half a year, but the criminals I've encountered are types you've never even heard of. Even the reasons they committed their cris are beyond your imagination. During these past few months while recovering from my injuries, I've been assigned to clerical work, which involved searching and reviewing a vast amount of archival materials. The incidents docunted in them would absolutely overturn your worldview and perception."
After hearing her out, Du Heng sighed. "Forget it, let's not dwell on him. I've already agreed, so we'll just wait for him to propose the challenge."
Wu Shengnan also shook her head. "An excessive desire to win, or intense jealousy—these are always precursors to madness. You're doctors, responsible for the health and lives of your patients. I don't believe such recklessness is a good thing."
Du Heng turned to Wu Shengnan. "So, you're saying I shouldn't go? Just pretend this never happened and let him carry on by himself?" He shook his head, looking troubled. "You saw him just now, filming with his mobile phone. Given his current state of obsession, I'm sure he'll release the video."
Wu Shengnan didn't seem too concerned about Du Heng's worries. Instead, she gave her boyfriend an odd look. "You can be so sharp at tis, yet so muddled at others."
"How so?"
"The solution ultimately lies with those who created the problem. Based on your account, the key figures here are Master Zhang and Professor Lan." Wu Shengnan slowed her pace and said calmly, "You should inform Professor Lan and let him communicate with Master Zhang. Generally, people in their positions are mindful of their reputations. They will surely intervene to stop or cancel this rather farcical affair. Even if it isn't canceled in the end, the matter will then beco sothing for the two seniors to handle, and you'll rely be the one carrying out their decision. Du Heng kept walking, but his expression shifted slightly. "You're right. I should ask Professor Lan to help diate this. Du Heng looked in the direction of Feng Su's voice and saw a familiar figure. With Feng Su's reminder, Du Heng imdiately recognized the sowhat familiar figure as Li Qin's assistant. However, the refined manager was not with the assistant.
"Feng Su, Doctor Du, this way, please. Miss Qin is waiting for you in the car outside; it's not convenient for her to co in." The young assistant greeted them cheerfully.
