anwhile, the interns, like frightened quails, quickly scattered and found things to do.
Unaware that he had frightened the nurse, Du Heng happily headed to the treatnt room next door.
"Oh, is Director Cai busy?" As soon as he entered the treatnt room, Du Heng saw Director Cai stand up. He wasn't sure if the Director had finished the surgery.
When Director Cai heard the voice and looked back to see Du Heng, he was utterly surprised.
It had been four months since Du Heng took office. Even if he sotis passed by the door of the Oral Departnt, he never stopped or entered. He didn't know what got into him today to co straight over.
"Dean, what brings you here?" Director Cai stepped back and, with the help of a nurse, started removing his equipnt.
Du Heng smiled. "I'm just bored and wandering around." He then glanced at the patient on the treatnt bed. "Director Cai, have you finished the treatnt?"
At this ti, Director Cai had removed his equipnt, revealing his handso, middle-aged face. Smiling, he said, "I just pulled out two wisdom teeth. Just finished."
Du Heng sounded a little regretful. "That's a pity. I just heard from the nurse that you were performing surgery, and I wanted to see it for myself."
"Dean, don't joke around. What I do can hardly be called surgery," Director Cai chuckled. "If you are truly interested, I will definitely invite you to observe next ti and give so advice."
Du Heng also laughed modestly, "No, this is too specialized for . I don't understand it at all."
As the two were engaged in an animated conversation and about to head to Director Cai's office, the patient who had just been treated suddenly spoke with a heavily slurred voice, "I want to eat a hand-grabbed al."
Director Cai stopped chatting with Du Heng and stepped closer to check on her.
Although they used the lowest dose of anesthetic, administering it in the oral cavity still had so effect on the brain, so caution was necessary.
The patient was a young girl, her eyes occasionally flashing with confusion, indicating that her brain wasn't quite keeping up.
"Uncle, what are you looking at?" The female patient stared blankly at the handso, older man before her, montarily forgetting where she was.
Director Cai paused for a mont, then smiled and held up three fingers. "How many is this?"
"Three," the girl replied, even more bewildered. "Uncle, you're so handso."
The sudden flirtation rendered everyone speechless for a mont before they all burst into laughter.
Patients under anesthesia could indeed be strange and unpredictable.
"Thank you for the complint," Director Cai also laughed. "Don't move. Just lie down for a while longer, until the anesthesia wears off."
"Handso Uncle, don't go!" The female patient looked at Director Cai and reached out, trying to grab him. However, her sluggish brain couldn't quite control her hand's direction.
Director Cai smiled and asked, "Is there anything you need?"
"Handso Uncle, do you have a wife?" Another baffling question.
With a wry smile, Director Cai looked at the girl. "Of course, I have a wife. I also have a son, whom you know."
The female patient waved her hand slightly. "I don't want to know your son. I just want to know you."
"Why do you want to know ?" Director Cai asked with a smile.
"You're so handso. I want you to be my dad."
Dad?
This was truly an answer no one had expected. Du Heng, standing nearby, was laughing so hard his back molars were showing.
He had never treated such an interesting patient before.
However, considering the effects of the anesthesia, her state was understandable.
But the request for him to be her dad was so amusing it was hard to suppress a laugh.
"My mom is very beautiful. Even though she's fifty, she looks like she's in her thirties. Uncle, if you beco my dad, you'll definitely hit the jackpot!"
The girl began to chatter incessantly, praising her mother, while a hint of embarrassnt appeared on Director Cai's face.
"Handso Uncle, my mom is a really good person. After my dad, whom I never t, passed away, my mom raised all by herself and hasn't had a boyfriend since."
Director Cai couldn't take it anymore. "Girl, I'm not going to pursue your mother. And you should be calling Uncle anyway. Alright, your mind is still foggy. Stop talking and just lie down for a bit. We can talk when you're more clear-headed."
The girl didn't quite hear what Director Cai said. Seeing him about to leave, she grew anxious. "Handso Uncle, don't go! If you leave, where will I find you? I still want you to be my dad!"
Just then, a young man suddenly entered. At first glance, one might have thought Director Cai had suddenly beco younger.
As soon as the young man entered the treatnt room, he looked at Director Cai and called out, "Dad, are the teeth out?"
Director Cai looked at his son, unsure whether to laugh or cry. "They're out. You should hurry and comfort your girlfriend. She's been talking nonstop nonsense."
Xiao Cai was about to ask what she had said when the girl spoke again, "Handso Uncle, I'm serious! My mom is exceptionally beautiful and capable, and her figure is still perfect. If you beco my dad, you won't lose out!"
Xiao Cai looked at the female patient in astonishnt. Seeing she was about to say more, he quickly rushed over. "Goodness, please stop talking!" He reached out and covered the girl's mouth.
Director Cai gave a wry chuckle and said to Du Heng, "My apologies for this display, Dean. The anesthetic hasn't worn off yet, and it's affecting her mind, making her talk nonsense."
Du Heng also slightly suppressed his smile. "It's alright. The anesthetic is just strong. She'll be fine once it wears off a bit."
"Dean, shall we talk in my office?"
"No need. I was just bored and wandering around. Don't mind . I'll go check out so other departnts."
As soon as he finished speaking, the mobile phone in his pocket rang. Du Heng quickly took it out, made a gesture of apology, and walked out to answer the call.
