On the third day of the Wasteland Blood War, Roy received news through the covert line within the Purple Thorn Knight Order.
Mountain Wall Dragon Nest.
Udi ended the ntal communication with Roy, a look of surprise in his eyes.
"Is this King of Centaurs really that fierce?" Udi clicked his tongue in wonder.
This outco was clearly beyond his expectations.
According to his conspiracy theory, the centaurs standing between the Kingdom and the Duchy were bound to face defeat.
Either of the two nations had overall strength far surpassing that of the centaurs.
"However, even if they win this ti, there will be a next ti. If the centaurs continue to stay in the Wilderness Plains, they will inevitably be worn down and ultimately face extinction." Udi calmly contemplated.
The Wilderness Plains spanned hundreds of thousands of square kiloters, with a flat and elongated terrain like a ribbon. On this fertile land lived hundreds of centaur tribes, large and small, and the total population of these centaur tribes was estimated to be less than a hundred thousand.
This small ethnic group, when faced with the Kas Duchy with tens of millions of people and the Yalbit Kingdom with millions, could be slowly ground down by these two to the point of extinction.
If efficiency wasn’t a concern, the simplest yet most sinister thod would be to issue an adventurer task nationwide, offering a bounty for each centaur head, while targeting only the weaker centaur won and children, not the strong ones among them.
In this way, countless adventurers from the two nations would be drawn in, and even those from other regions might be attracted.
The cost would rely be so money. To gather a total of a hundred thousand centaurs, with thirty thousand won and children, paying twenty gold coins per head, it would all amount to only six hundred thousand gold coins. If this sum were paid all at once, it might be slightly considerable, but if the bounty were paid out gradually and distributed, it would be a breeze for the two nations, hardly worth ntioning.
Udi was unaware that the Centaur King Morgan had already broken through to Legendary, though this Legendary was still quite immature and critically injured. The information conveyed by Roy’s covert line primarily had three points: First, the Blood Flower Knight Order and the Purple Thorn Knight Order were defeated; second, the centaur side had an adult Black Dragon as reinforcents; third, the Centaur King himself killed General Ma Lei and cooperated with that adult Black Dragon to kill Duke Nicholas.
In a war of such magnitude, it was no small feat for Roy to obtain this information in a short ti. After all, he wasn’t a seasoned High-level Mage; he had only recently advanced to this level. The elite circles of the Kas Duchy hadn’t fully accepted him yet, and his network was much weaker compared to the great nobility.
"If the Centaur King is a bit smarter, he will surely seek new territory for developnt. Being confined to the Wilderness Plains is a dead end." Udi thought calmly.
Several decades ago, the Kingdom was decaying, and the Duchy had not yet developed. Facing a centaur clan numbering tens of thousands advancing into the Wilderness Plains, they had neither the mind nor the will to pay the steep price of expelling them.
However, tis have changed. The Kingdom has a new king and a revamped leadership, reviving the once-decayed nation. anwhile, the power of the Duchy has been growing by leaps and bounds over the decades, rivaling the Kingdom in so aspects.
At this point, apart from a slight population increase, the centaurs have made little progress in other areas, making the vast fertile land they occupy a tempting prize.
Udi, reflecting on the map of the region, realized that the best target for the centaurs in search of new territory would be the Dark Forest.
The entire Dark Forest was tens of tis larger than the Wilderness Plains, with even richer resources, fully capable of accommodating the centaur clan for developnt.
Moreover, the poisonous insects, snakes, miasma of the Dark Forest served as natural barriers where ordinary humans couldn’t survive long. Yet, the hardy centaurs with robust constitutions could thrive there.
However, advancing into the Dark Forest would certainly require a price. After all, there were plenty of powerful demons, and to develop the land would take a significant amount of ti and energy.
Under Udi’s command, his three major monster clans had already lost thousands of monster warriors and ordinary clansn in the developnt process over the years!
"If the Centaur King truly leads his clan’s migration to the Dark Forest..." Udi felt a headache coming on.
Such a ’fierce dragon’ breaking in would inevitably seize a large enough share of benefits. Otherwise, developnt would be out of the question, and the group’s power would regress. The Centaur King would never allow his group’s power to decline continually. As the leader of the clan, he would certainly strive to secure all possible benefits for developnt.
"Does mother have ties with this Centaur King? Are they allies, partners, friends, or... involved romantically?" Udi speculated and pondered.
Initially, Udi assud that his mother and the centaurs were adversaries, but the recent events of the Wasteland War and supporting the centaurs led to debunking this notion.
Even if they were adversaries, it wouldn’t be out of hatred, but based on conflicting interests.
As Udi pondered the impact of this matter, other related forces involved in this incident also had their own reflections.
Kas Duchy.
Capital City, Palace.
The Purple Thorn Duke, upon learning of General Ma Lei’s death, saw the veins in his arm bulge, and the Purple Gold Sphere held in his palm was crushed.
"Centaur King Morgan..." The Purple Thorn Duke’s eyes flickered with a murderous intent, his voice deep.
An almost perfect plan had failed, and it failed miserably! This was hard for the overconfident Purple Thorn Duke to accept.
The sole consolation was that the Yalbit Kingdom also lost a Master-level Professional, and their Blood Flower Knight Order suffered significant losses.
However.
Could the number of Master-level Professionals in Yalbit Kingdom be compared to that of Kas Duchy?
Not to ntion their Professional Academy enrolling over ten thousand each year, the population base of Kas Duchy was only a fifth of theirs!
Apart from the loss of Master-level combat power, the loss of the Purple Thorn Knight Order was extrely severe. The painstakingly assembled elite knight order numbering a thousand was now reduced to just over half, almost decimated.
While Interdiate Professions could be replenished from the Duchy with ti, the loss of hundreds of mid-level enchanted equipnt for both horses and riders was heart-wrenching for the Purple Thorn Duke. This mid-level enchanted armor, a complete set for both rider and horse, was so valuable that it could bankrupt a well-off knight.
Furthermore, hundreds of the painstakingly nurtured six-legged giant horses were lost!
The six-legged giant horses were native creatures of the small Dark Nether Realm controlled by the Kas Duchy, bred and cultivated over generations. Now, their level could reach Level 4, and under the unique training and secret techniques of the knight profession for mounts, could even break through to Level 5, entering the mid-level creatures’ threshold.
With this strategic resource, they were able to form the Purple Thorn Knight Order, truly as formidable as the Blood Flower Knight Order of the Yalbit Kingdom.
