Another clash. As their weapons crossed, their eyes t at close range, and QM Rita suddenly asked, "Has your nightmare changed?"
An intriguing question.
Rita flashed the first smile that could truly be called radiant since her awakening. Only the other her noticed this question. Only the other her realized that sothing was wrong.
Even with her mory lost, she still retained the sharpness and suspicion she had always possessed.
Deceitful Bloom had wrongly assud she had so many vulnerabilities, so much sincerity. Even after 140,000 cycles, it couldn’t be changed.
She countered with another question to herself, the one person in this world who might truly understand her: "What do you think?"
QM Rita replaced the answer with a new question: "How did you do it?"
In five Demon Gas, although she only retained one mory from each, she knew that every ti in the Demon Ga, SS Rita would always go after and kill the dragons, the little robots, and the two beings she referred to as her teachers. It was as if it were part of a programd routine.
The nightmare from the first and fifth Demon Gas were exactly the sa.
How could the sa nightmare repeat after so many cycles?
Were those four people truly that important?
That was the question that QM Rita had been suspicious of all along.
They were important, yes, but not to the point of life or death.
No matter how long they had known each other, could it be longer than the ti she had known herself?
The first ti she killed them in the Demon Ga, she had indeed suffered. She suffered from her choice, from realizing her true self.
But if the 140,000th ti still brought her pain, then there was only one explanation—hypocrisy.
So hypocritical. But the Demon Ga accepted her pain as real, as though it were a false reality.
Let her rephrase it—into the role.
All she needed to do was kill four players who wouldn’t fight back to complete the mission. She didn’t want any possibility of this nightmare changing. That could not only prolong her ga ti, but it would add too much uncertainty to the ga, and the Demon Ga didn’t offer resurrections.
The more monotonous and repetitive the mories, the less effect they had on her. Even though they influenced her actions later—like when she had to play the fool for a few days—she could always "wake up" once she rembered most of her past mories.
What she wanted was to learn QM Rita’s battle techniques, not to play an imrsive ga. She didn’t care about her nightmares; she just wanted to get stronger.
And what better way to hypnotize herself into playing the role than this?
Rita smiled. "Ah, I forgot you have no mory. You probably don’t know, but if not for the ga’s invasion, we’d be the film queens. Getting into character is basic training."
She side-stepped Quiet Mountain Frenzied Shark’s attack, grabbing the opponent’s wrist—Flower of Deceit.
The golden apple fell into her hand, but Quiet Mountain Frenzied Shark didn’t die. Sohow, he predicted the danger of the skill and swiftly severed his own arm to retreat.
No problem, as long as the apple was in her hand. Rita dodged and ate the apple in a few bites, gaining over 10,000 points in attributes.
She narrowly avoided QM Kessa’s claw blades. As she brushed past her, Rita suddenly pulled out a golden coin. In the mont QM Kessa instinctively looked at the coin, Rita flicked it high into the air.
QM Kessa’s gaze locked onto the coin.
Rita whispered in Celestialkin: "You are Star Sea Kessa, SS Rita’s ally. Your target is to kill Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup."
Imdiately, QM Kessa’s eyes went vacant. She turned and charged toward Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup.
Rita chuckled, and in QM Rita’s gaze, the coin fell. The item’s information had changed.
[My Sigh] (Treasure): Why does the bell ring in Star Sea? Why is "Midsumr" so different for you and ?
Deceitful Bloom had guessed correctly. This was indeed a replica of World Sigh, an item that also stored important mories.
But her imitation didn’t just store mories—it also made another being enter the role, much like how the worlds once made her enter the souls of other beings, allowing her to see the world through their perspective.
This item, nad My Sigh, could hypnotize in an instant.
As the coin flipped, it triggered the script: Why does the bell ring in Star Sea? Why is "Midsumr" so different for you and ? This was the opening line of Kessa’s script.
The line "I don’t know how many tis I’ll suffer, but I can make myself happy again through mories" was her own script.
And the true ssage of this coin was:
[My Sigh] (Treasure): Listen to the script I’ve written for you, and at this mont, My Sigh is your sigh.
With Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup and QM Kessa temporarily out of the battle, Rita focused on the next target.
She needed to defeat QM Mistblade before her mind completely shattered.
Divine Skill — [Story’s End]!
QM Mistblade seed to receive a heavy blow, staggering back. Had she died? No, but her third fox tail had fallen off!
Rita’s dragon wings twitched, and she quickly snatched the tail.
The next mont, a cloud of smoke ford an arrow that pierced Rita’s heart. Her health dropped by 30%.
Bedti Tale’s skill effect was triggered. Was that a fatal blow?
Rita imdiately used a C-level spark and then launched [Vow Without Regret] at Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup, who was attempting a sneak attack from the diagonal rear.
"Designate a target and forcibly swap the last skill each of you used."
Let’s see what good things I’ve managed to get!
[Heir to the Legacy] (Divine Skill): Designate a target and kill them while ignoring all defenses. Inherit their most beloved item. Using this skill will consu 9 points of luck, which will be restored after 15 Quiet Mountain days; note: kills made by this skill will not be recognized by any Demon Relic.
Rita imdiately used Family Bucket to send an inheritance request to each of her friends present.
QM Mistblade’s third fox tail, which had just regrown, fell off again. QM Rita’s mask split, releasing a chain that bound Mistblade’s wrist. Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup’s smoke pipe released large amounts of smoke, and the weather above QM Kessa’s head suddenly turned into a shield. Quiet Mountain Frenzied Shark, who had just regrown her arm, was petrified for a second, and Quiet Mountain Mojie’s tentacle snapped, only to regrow.
...
Why is everyone so difficult to kill?
