Rita knew that Jason definitely had a way to sense her actions. After all, if he could deduce things through the blood curse on Sanchez, he was far from ordinary. Yet, Jason still didn't react. So, Rita opened another food container and placed it beside the crystal coffin. "According to our pact, I've brought Miyaas's remains. I'll count down from ten. If you don't give the Dragon Ancestor's reverse scale, you're dead. Ten, nine, eight…"
The coffin quickly began to glow—faster than a phone booting up. As it lit up, the first thing Jason saw upon waking was a big face of a goblin staring down at him. He also sensed the binding power of the oath, confirming that Miyaas's remains had indeed been brought to him.
Jason asked, "How long has it been?"
It felt like he'd just closed his eyes! The Half Dream skill hadn't even given him a full second of wakefulness. That ant he had only been asleep for less than 10 natural days.
"Six, five…" Rita continued her countdown.
Jason sensed the binding effect of the oath gem was kicking in. He hadn't expected this person to actually co back alive. Realizing he had no choice, he extracted a reverse scale from the dragon markings sealed within his body. In an instant, a crescent-shaped white dragon scale "floated" out from the stone sculpture.
Dragon Ancestor's Reverse Scale (Rare) – Exclusive to Dragons
Skills:
Half Dream, Half Wake (SS)
ntal Resonance (SS)
Evil Dragon's Roar (S)
Dragon Dance (S)
...and dozens of others, with the lowest being A-rank.
Rita skimd through the Half Dream, Half Wake and ntal Resonance skills, and it didn't take long for her to deduce that Jason's abilities to manipulate ti and read minds must have originated from these powers.
After confirming with Nivalis that this was indeed the real deal, Rita used Push Shot to send the crystal coffin flying. Once the reverse scale dropped onto the floor, she quickly enveloped it with a Thunder Cage, allowing Nivalis to inspect it closely for any abnormalities. Once they were sure everything was fine, she grabbed the scale and stored it in her ga backpack.
Now, she turned her attention back to Jason. His body, which had been petrified, was slowly starting to revert back to normal. His life and mana were gradually rising—though at a rate of only 0.01% per second, it was still a sign of recovery.
Rita thought to herself, No wonder the crystal coffin lit up. It's because there was an old demon inside!
Rita raised her gun and aid at the coffin, as well as at Jason within it. "Do you have anything else to say?"
She had even taken extra precautions, bringing both Jason and Miyaas to Lania Kaia. Her initial idea had been to use Miyaas as bait to bring out the big shots here in case Miyaas tried sothing tricky. But now, she realized that while she avoided Miyaas's pit, Jason had his own tricks up his sleeve.
She opened the ga interface, searched for Jason's na, and went straight to the end of the list. Sure enough, there it was—a level 0 Jason, a sea demon. His profile picture matched the one she saw in front of her.
So, he logged into the ga after being revived.
Jason spoke up, "I don't know what you need the dragon scale for, but I'll give you a warning... No, I an, I'm kindly reminding you, young friend—don't use dragon clan items without permission, or it will backfire."
Rita realized sothing. No wonder dragon blood had always been sold by the Lopez family in the past. I thought it was because the White family couldn't compete with them, but it turns out they just didn't want to get involved.
She remained expressionless and responded coldly, "No need for the fake kindness. What do you have to say?"
Jason continued, "But you swore an oath—if the White family doesn't harm you, you can't harm anyone from the White family."
Rita could feel the strength of the oath's power binding her.
She put the gun away but felt no regret. In fact, the binding power of the oath gave her a sense of relief. The double verification of the ga login and the oath's power confird sothing important—this sea demon inside the coffin was indeed Jason from the White family, not Miyaas.
Rita calmly said, "Do you believe I could bring over a foreign powerhouse that's just as strong as Miyaas to attack here?" As long as she used the right trigger, no one would co unless they were a big shot. And when they did, she could escape. As for Jason? She had no intention of saving him.
Jason's response was quick, "The gun's in your hands, so whatever you say... I'll believe it! I believe you can bypass the oath. By the way, I have a trade offer. It's a backup plan I set up without Miyaas's knowledge. I can't control ti anymore, and I can't read minds either. You can rest assured to listen to what I have to say!"
Rita: This person's mouth is faster than his brain now that he lost his ti-rewind ability.
She took out Brooks's skill gem and crushed it right in front of Jason.
At this point, Jason had no immunity to skills. You can't read minds anymore, huh? Well, now it's my turn.
She carefully placed the food container with Miyaas's remains back into her ga backpack and used Thunder Cage to seal Jason's container before asking, "First, tell —what's the deal with the giant whale's carcass? Is Miyaas really dead?"
Jason responded, "Miyaas used a special thod to hide his skeleton inside the whale's body. That's all I know. He didn't tell the core details of the plan—he's a smart one, after all. My job was just to guide you to him and provide you with the materials needed for the ritual. I'm just a worker."
He continued, "But what he didn't know is that my wife and I secretly kept so of his blood and flesh when we first saved him. Back then, we were just curious about the taste of his fish tail. My wife even had the oil pan ready. But... Anyway, to get to the point, I wrote up his life resu in secret."
Jason chuckled bitterly. "I already knew his ending before your story even began. He's a goner. He's got two possible endings, and in mine, he loses both tis. The difference is, if he had waited for the person he needed, he might've had a chance, but now, it's all over for him."
Rita was stunned. Two possible endings? Does this an last life and this life? Is it and Rick? This is too much of a bug. Could other prophecies have multiple outcos too?
Jason sighed. "You don't even know who's coming for you, do you?"
Rita frowned. "Two possible endings? You an you still don't know who's really after you?"
Jason shook his head. "No, he's just like you—clever... He never trusted anyone. He didn't even let use skills to summarize his life. He didn't like those destiny skills that show the results of events or people's fates directly. He believed they're like a death sentence, once you see them, everything you do gets influenced by them. He preferred the fate to give him a clue, and then he would find the way out himself."
