Now reading: Chapter 311 High Tower · Hot Violence or Cold Violence from This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist, a Drama novel by Catlove12Fish.

However, these oak owls were too much like the Blue Star people, and Rita couldn't help but subconsciously think of the future of Blue Star whenever she saw them.

She recalled the lody she heard when the blood elves ascended the tower, and it turned out it really was a battle hymn. After each war ended, the oak owls would gather the bodies of their fallen comrades, set them on fire, and then everyone would rise into the air to sing for them.

The war ended abruptly.

That day, Rita was cooking when a blood-soaked oak owl suddenly burst into the kitchen, laughing wildly. With tears streaming down his face, he loudly proclaid, "It's over! It's over!!"

The next second, Rita's vision darkened. The cheers, cries, and disbelieving questions all vanished, and after her senses were briefly sealed for a few seconds, they were restored. She found herself sitting on a tree trunk, feeling the breeze.

The scene shifted so suddenly that Rita was montarily dazed.

85% of the forest region in Forest Sea was made up of trees and plants of all colors. As she gazed around, she saw nothing but forest, with at least a third of the trees being various kinds of oak trees. The rest were fruit trees or other types of plants.

But the most striking and towering trees were a rare species called mu, known as the tallest trees in Forest Sea. They made up only 0.01% of the forest.

Rita was sitting atop a century-old mu tree, casually tearing off a soft, cloud-like leaf and covering herself with it.

There were thousands of plants and fruits here, each with various uses. The oak owls had managed to survive this long by relying on these magical fruits and the innate powers of their wings.

She was currently in the form of Savorleaf, a level 27 oak owl, with a B-grade Divine Gift.

At this point in ti, it was 7206 in the Ruincor calendar, twelve years before the war would end in 7218.

Rita hesitated for a mont but then flew into the forest to find fruits that could be used to make paint, using them to draw three wavy lines on her forehead.

This was the sign of the Eclipse Vanguard. In addition, the Eclipse Vanguard had designed various other signals—so obvious, others subtle—such as patterns, conversations, sounds, and more. There were dozens of ways to communicate within their ranks. She wanted to make contact with soone from Eclipse Vanguard to exchange information.

Surrounded by alien races, she couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. She could only call Nivalis out during the quiet of the night to talk.

Every ti Nivalis ca out, she had an expression of utter exasperation.

In Nivalis' tiline, the routine was as follows: she'd just picked up a ga console she had brought into the space with her binding stone—only to be called out for a chat. She'd go back into her space to grab the ga console again—only to be pulled out once more for a conversation. It went on like that, ti and again.

Eventually, Nivalis couldn't take it anymore. After being called out hundreds of tis, she punched herself in the head with all her strength, knocking herself unconscious. Her head tilted and she collapsed into Rita's arms.

Rita blankly stared at her little dragon in her arms, unsure whether this was "hot violence" or "cold violence."

Before she could et with anyone from the Eclipse Vanguard, the next day she was sent to the battlefield.

Her days beca a cycle of killing enemies, eating, sleeping, and then killing again.

This was far better than staying in the kitchen, where she was free to slaughter indiscriminately. She didn't even have to rember the nas of her "comrades" since everyone was too busy to chat. Sotis she'd fight alongside soone for half a year and still not know their na.

When she was Peach Jar, she had earned plenty of rit, both for her work in the kitchen and for killing enemies on the battlefield. Once she accumulated enough rit, she'd go to the logistics departnt and exchange it for advanced martial arts manuals compiled by the oak owls.

These martial arts books, drawn with text and patterns, were different from skill books ford through experience. The latter, when torn, would instantly convey the knowledge to the mind, allowing one to use the skills imdiately. The forr required practice on one's own.

So of the skills she'd morized before entering the tower were useful for her on the battlefield, especially in close combat.

Rita spent five years fighting.

During this ti, she also obtained an A-grade Divine Gift skill called Battle Review, which allowed her to instantly understand every mistake she'd made in the past three days of battle. This skill acted as an intelligent personal coach.

Thanks to this skill, Rita was able to constantly correct her mistakes and adjust her combat tactics. Within five years, she gained a reputation on the battlefield and even gathered a group of enthusiastic followers.

However, because of how strong she had beco, she attracted the attention of eleven alien races. They ford a ten-man squad and, in an ambush, quickly surrounded her from all directions.

Rita used every trick in the book but still couldn't escape. The enemy had clearly co prepared. Three years later, she was only level 51, occasionally stealing so attributes. But since she wasn't really interested in killing for the oak owls or making a na for herself, she just wanted to improve herself. So she didn't steal too much.

Sotis she'd get good equipnt and exchange it for more rit, then use the rit to buy more martial arts skills.

She was just a formidable 51-level oak owl warrior, but the ones coming to kill her were a team of ten 60-level aliens, one of whom even possessed a ti-stop ability.

They were a decapitation squad, and their targets were not only Rita but also so rising stars on the battlefield.

Rita was killed.

When she opened her eyes again, she had beco an oak owl nad Rivergrain.

This ti, she was acutely aware of how much her death in the tower affected her.

From Peach Jar to Savorleaf, she simply closed her eyes and opened them again to switch lives, smooth as if she'd just woken up from a nap. But from Savorleaf to Rivergrain, she had almost been dazed for three days before she "woke up," slowly regaining her ability to think.

Moreover, she had lost a skill—her B-grade Explosive Arrow.

It quickly dawned on her that the source of those skill books in the tower likely wasn't just the mories and experiences stripped from the heroic spirits but also part of the skills and experience lost by the alien races who died in the tower.

Rivergrain's Divine Gift was C-grade. She didn't bear the na Peach, Pine, or Maple, so she was probably headed to the battlefield soon.

But the good news was that it was now 7214, just four years before the war ended in 7218. This ti, Rita had learned her lesson. On the battlefield, she decided to "fish" more than fight.

Privately, she swapped the equipnt and items she stole from the battlefield with other oak owls for skill books. She took everything, no matter how low-grade, as long as it was special. She didn't care if it was a D-grade skill; if it was unique, she'd pay a high price for it, such as skills like Lockpicking, Hunting Mastery, Forest Tracking, Air Bullets, etc.

With this "fishing" thod, she was able to stay ahead and make it to the year 7218.

She smoothly entered the fourth cycle.

This ti, she was fortunate. Her na was Pinebloom, and her legion had changed from the Crown to the Rosewood created by Pine Bloom. She was imdiately assigned to logistics, managing equipnt.

But unfortunately, it was now 7199, and the war had just entered its most heated phase. The eleven alien races had already occupied a small portion of the dungeon's light screen, and every week, large numbers of alien soldiers would pass through the dungeon to enter Forest Sea.

The war wouldn't end until 7218, leaving her with 19 years to face.
