Now reading: Chapter 168: Heading to the Summoning Point from This Summoner Is Too Powerful, a Game novel by Fried Egg With Orange.

After the monthly exams, Wu Guinan didn’t have much to do, so Li Pu took him along to the summoning point.

Anyway, this matter couldn’t be kept from him, so there was no need to hide it.

Moreover, having soone to refer to would be a good thing.

The two walked and chatted, buying a box of cola for the straw man and a bucket of water spinach for the rolling turtle along the way.

"Don’t you plan to control the straw man’s diet a bit?"

"The day before yesterday, the rolling turtle licked it and told this guy is sweet."

"Could summoned creatures also have problems like diabetes?"

Watching the straw man sipping cola through a straw, Wu Guinan felt a bit worried.

"Is yours a rolling turtle or a licking turtle? Why lick my straw man for no reason."

Li Pu was concerned about this; just thinking about it felt a bit gross.

"You don’t get it, this signifies affection."

"Haven’t you seen cats and dogs lick each other all the ti?"

Wu Guinan retorted.

Li Pu: "Cat turtle? Dog turtle?"

Wu Guinan: "Believe it or not, there really are such summoned creatures."

Li Pu: "..."

Xidu University really is big, and the monthly exam venue was far from the summoning point.

It took them roughly an hour to walk to their destination.

It was Li Pu’s first ti at the summoning point, and it wasn’t quite what he imagined.

Behind a modern three-story building, there were three large circular platforms with a diater of over 10 ters, which were the summoning arrays.

"Haven’t been here for a while."

As they passed by the summoning arrays, Wu Guinan sighed.

"You’ve been here before?"

Li Pu was slightly surprised.

"Of course, don’t you know who my grandfather is?"

Wu Guinan puffed up his chest, introducing with a hint of pride.

"I’m not like you guys. The rolling turtle was summoned here."

"The summoning arrays here don’t have type distinctions; creatures from all seven systems can be summoned."

"And each array can provide assistance, with a small chance of improving the summoned creature’s grade."

"But to activate the assistance arrays, you need to pay Crystal Coins."

"The arrays are arranged in order, with the Alpha array offering the highest chance of improvent."

This explanation made Li Pu feel bringing Wu Guinan along was the right choice.

Then Wu Guinan ntioned that the activation costs for the arrays are very high, but even the strongest Alpha rarely improves the grades, and only the wealthy would use it.

Even when he summoned the rolling turtle, his grandfather didn’t pay for it.

Li Pu: "Let’s go inside and have a look."

Wu Guinan: "Let’s go."

After examining the three arrays, they left the straw man and rolling turtle outside and entered the building.

The hall inside was quite spacious, but there were no staff, only several cabinet-style machines.

"To protect everyone’s privacy, the entire summoning point is self-service."

"You can slowly browse the entries through these machines."

While Wu Guinan was explaining, a guide robot representing "staff" rolled over.

The style was very familiar, reminding Li Pu of the card room.

"There’s no one here now anyway."

"Feel free to look around."

Wu Guinan waved off the robot.

Even now, he still believed Li Pu was rely curious and wanted to take a look.

After all, with the straw man only at Level 0 Transition, LV 11, how could Li Pu possibly contract a second summoned creature?

"Alright."

Li Pu nodded and walked over to one of the machines.

[Hello, please align your student card with the scanning port]

Just as he stood properly, the machine spoke automatically.

Luckily, all it needed was a student card and not a wristwatch number. He rummaged through his storage space and found it.

[Beep beep!]

After two prompt sounds, the main interface appeared on the machine.

"The points from the recent monthly exam have been settled."

"So, we have points too. You can check the exchange list for summoning talismans."

Following Wu Guinan’s prompt, Li Pu operated the machine with a few simple clicks.

Soon, the corresponding list appeared in front of him.

Level 1 Summoning Talisman—10 points

Level 1→2 Summoning Talisman—5 points

Level 2→3 Summoning Talisman—7 points

Level 3→4 Summoning Talisman—10 points

Level 4→5 Summoning Talisman—100 points

Level 5→6 Summoning Talisman—400 points

The exchange prices from Level 1 to Level 6 Summoning Talismans were all listed.

Other than the Level 1 Summoning Talisman, which was a bit pricy for being the first, the upgrade prices gradually increased, with a sharp hike when reaching Level 5.

"According to my grandfather, a Level 6 Summoning Talisman is the ceiling for what can be exchanged."

"Even in the school’s warehouse, there aren’t many talismans at this level."

"But currently, all college systems in our entire Hua District are networked."

"If you choose another school’s Level 6 Summoning Talisman, you just need to wait a while for it to be transferred over."

"Talisman levels beyond that have to be obtained through other ans; points can’t get you those."

While Wu Guinan was explaining, Li Pu did so ntal calculations.

To get a Level 6 Summoning Talisman, one would need 532 points.

Given the typical pace of contracting a second summoned creature by the end of the first year or the start of the second year, accumulating points takes about a school year.

There are only four monthly exams in a sester, making it eight for two sesters.

Even if you co first every exam, you would have only 80 points.

That’s still far from the 532 points needed for a Level 6 Summoning Talisman.

In an extre scenario, securing first place in every exam for four years in college would only yield 320 points, still not enough.

It seems the Level 6 Summoning Talisman is intended for students who have made significant contributions or perford exceptionally, beyond the reach of even generally excellent students.

Not to ntion a Level 6, even a Level 5 Summoning Talisman worth 132 points would be difficult for anyone to obtain.

To consistently top monthly exams is an ideal scenario; even if asked now, Li Pu wouldn’t be confident about winning all the first sester’s four [Sprint] monthly exams.

Generally, an outstanding student in their grade would already do quite well to get a Level 3 Summoning Talisman.

Fortunately, thanks to the generosity of Instructor Lan Feng, the head of the cultivation departnt this year, Li Pu had already obtained a Level 3 Summoning Talisman during the arena competition.

Now he just happened to have 10 points to upgrade it to a Level 4 Summoning Talisman.

However, the thing Li Pu was most concerned about wasn’t that, but whether his spiritual power t the standard sufficiently to summon and contract a second summoned creature.

This question could be answered now.

With Wu Guinan’s guidance, he clicked open the testing function on the machine.
