Chapter 503: Chapter 24: Seeing “God” Unscathed_3

“Blessed with both wisdom roots and a Buddhist nature, yet a genius Sword Cultivator,” the Chicken Soup Temple monk spoke with a gentle smile, “One day, this person will make the Bodhisattvas take notice.”

“For the sake of a mundane tribe, he dared to undertake a journey without fear of millions, a true Sword Cultivator in the making.

Today he received our Chicken Soup Temple’s Buddhist fate, and he will surely rember it in his heart,” the Chicken Soup Temple monk declared with certainty.

In fact, there was another thought that the Chicken Soup Temple monk kept hidden in his heart.

The reason he bound this Buddhist fate with the Dragon Elephant Taoist magic was not only because he saw a bright future in Lu Qingshan, but also because he foresaw troubled days coming for the Chicken Soup Temple.

Jue Zhen clasped his hands and refrained from speaking further on the matter.

...

…..

Lu Qingshan walked out of the Mahavira Hall, taking two or three steps alongside Qin Yitian, when a monk in grey linen approached them.

“Jue Zhen, the Preaching Monk, instructed to guide donors. Please feel free to command wherever you wish to go,” the gray-clad monk said to the two of them, very politely with a Buddhist bow.

“I am quite interested in the customs of the Chicken Soup Temple. Could you show around the temple for a quick tour?” Lu Qingshan replied.

“Of course, there’s no problem. Just follow ,” the Cultivating monk responded.

Despite his courteous exterior, the grey-clad Cultivating monk’s mind was a tumult of thoughts.

“The other Cultivating monks have all said that the female guest who ca to the temple looks like Guanyin, so why has no one told that this male guest is just as otherworldly in appearance?”

“Although the female donor looks extraordinary, how does this male donor, without any sign of Cultivation, beco a distinguished guest of our Buddhist Sect? Could it be that he has an extraordinary origin, or could it be…”

Unconsciously, as he observed Qin Yitian, who carried himself with lowered eyes and a deferential manner around Lu Qingshan, the monk’s mind wandered off wondering about so-called matters of rice being hard or soft.

Lacking sothing often ans being overly conscious or even jealous of it, a principle that holds true universally.

Although this is a Buddhist Temple, the Cultivating monk was just at the bottom tier of cultivators; could his spiritual realm really be as high as the Vajra’s, preaching absolute detachnt from desires?

He had an average appearance; not to ntion he was a monk with a shaved head and Buddhist robes, how handso could he possibly be?

Of course, he could cite countless examples to prove that a person’s appearance has nothing to do with their accomplishnts.

After all, many of the esteed monks of Dragon Elephant’s caliber had rather plain appearances.

But this didn’t change the fact that the man in front of him seed to be able to rely on his good looks to get by in life, nor did it change the fact that deep down, he felt a touch of envy.

“Amitabha.” The grey-clad Cultivating monk silently recited the Buddha’s na, dragging his wayward thoughts back on track and inwardly scolding himself for deviating from righteous thinking.

Of course, Lu Qingshan was unaware that in just the brief few monts that had passed, the Cultivating monk in front of him had even internally criticized him, but at least to his face, the monk showed him ample respect.

And that was sufficient.

One should judge by actions, not thoughts.

The Cultivating monk led the way without a sideward glance, guiding Lu Qingshan through halls and courtyards, giving him a superficial tour of several characteristic locales within the temple.

The sacred and secret areas of the temple were, of course, out of bounds for Lu Qingshan. He could only get a rough sense of the Buddhist charm.

Cluck cluck cluck—

As they reached the outside of a ditation room, Lu Qingshan suddenly heard several strange sounds.

“What’s this?” he asked with so curiosity, because the noise sounded oddly like… a chicken crowing?

“Donor, please follow this way,” the grey-clad Cultivating monk said with an understanding smile, guiding Lu Qingshan and Qin Yitian out of the corridor.

A vast clearing was hidden behind it.

Then, Lu Qingshan was sowhat astonished.

Because, there were actually chickens in the Chicken Soup Temple…

A plump hen with brightly colored feathers was happily running around the clearing, her sturdy beak pecking at the ground without pause.

Upon closer inspection, there was a mysterious, dark golden Heavenly Dragon scurrying around in a panic on the ground.

“This hen is kept by the Abbot,” the grey-clad Cultivating monk explained, “She chases after this centipede every day to peck at it. It has been like this ever since I arrived at the temple, as if it’s her mission, though I don’t know exactly how long it has been going on.”

“Old hen, why do you chase every day to peck?” The dark golden centipede seed to have had enough of being chased by the old hen, and to everyone’s surprise, it spoke with human tongue in anger.

The plump hen just looked up nonchalantly, stood on one leg, clucked twice, and then proudly said, “I’m a mother hen.”

Lu Qingshan’s mouth twitched as he was stunned and felt the urge to unleash a torrent of complaints.

Old hen, you’ll get fined for talking like that.

“The hen is raised by the Abbot, and the centipede ca on its own.

Hearing the Abbot recite Buddhist scriptures day after day, they eventually grew to understand the Buddhist nature and began to speak human tongue,” the grey-clad Cultivating monk explained with a smile: “The Preaching Monk Master also has a canary.

We all say that when the canary starts speaking human tongue, the Master’s Buddhist teachings will have truly co to fruition.”

Lu Qingshan pondered for a mont, sowhat moved.

You Chicken Soup Temple folks are really sothing.
