Chapter 700: Chapter 27 Lu Qingshan’s “Good Fortune

Lu Qingshan flew with sword control, tracing a streak of Radiance at low altitude as he hurried toward Falling Goose Pass.

In the battlefield outside the territory, where danger lurked at every corner, even the Demon Race, which held an absolute advantage, rarely chose to fly proudly at high altitudes—wasn’t that making oneself a living target?

As a Sword Cultivator, Lu Qingshan’s escape technique was extrely fast. Even though he kept his pace moderate to conserve energy, he still outstripped ninety-nine percent of the Void Refining Cultivators.

However, the battle-scarred landscape was so vast that it still took him three to four days to reach Falling Goose Pass.

That was under the assumption that he didn’t encounter any unexpected problems along the way.

He looked around. Nearly all the scenery that t his eyes was desolate, with remnants of battle everywhere.

In this area, the Human and Demon Races had been locked in fierce combat for a full twenty thousand years.

Over such an extended period, countless Cultivators and mbers of the Demon Race had perished in this external battlefield, and the number of battles that took place was unimaginable.

And with the power of Cultivators and Demons, each of their battles caused imnse destruction to the environnt.

This continual accumulation eventually led to the desolation of the battlefield, with holes and craters visible almost everywhere, a horrifying sight to behold.

Years of relentless fighting also resulted in swathes of land where not a single blade of grass would grow.

After a little distance from Yun Pass, Lu Qingshan’s focus intensified as he paid close attention to his surroundings.

Extending outward for five thousand miles from Yun Pass as the base point was the active area for low- to mid-level mbers of the Demon Race.

Within this area, the most common were Fourth Grade and Fifth Grade demons.

With Lu Qingshan’s strength, in theory, he should be able to move unimpeded in such a region.

But the problem was, this wasn’t so ga; it’s true that this was the activity area for low- to mid-grade demons, but nothing prohibited higher-grade demons from roaming here. The sudden ergence of a demon at the Sixth Grade Realm was not impossible.

So, he had to be extrely cautious.

“However, as long as I don’t encounter a Demon General… even if I co across a Sixth Grade demon, I might still be able to escape; and if I risk it all, there’s a chance I could even turn the tables and kill it…” Lu Qingshan contemplated internally.

Sixth Grade demons varied in strength according to their bloodline. So were stronger than others.

The most common and weakest of the Sixth Grade demons did not have special titles and corresponded to Human Cultivators who broke through from the Three Flowers realm to the Divinity Transformation.

The powerful demons within the Sixth Grade, on the other hand, were called Demon Generals, with distinctions like Low-Ranking, High-Ranking, and top-tier Demon Generals.

….

Two days passed, and Lu Qingshan gradually neared Falling Goose Pass.

As he delved deeper into the external battlefield, the surroundings beca eerily quiet. The sky was dreary, and an oppressive atmosphere arose out of nowhere.

In such a desolate place, where enemies might be encountered at any mont, most Cultivators were on edge, constantly vigilant.

This was an extrely taxing state to maintain and couldn’t last long, especially for novice Human Cultivators who were entering Yun Pass for the first ti and had little experience.

A string overstretched for too long is bound to break; a difficult level in a video ga with no checkpoint in the middle would only deter most players except for a few hardcore ones.

Therefore, a safe zone where Human Cultivators could temporarily rest was absolutely necessary.

This was also why the Human side was willing to spill blood and make sacrifices to staunchly defend the seventeen small fortified passes.

The Jade Slip issued advised newcor Human Cultivators, on their first foray into the external battlefield, to form teams for mutual support, thereby reducing the casualty rate.

However, Lu Qingshan ignored this advice.

First, with his strength far surpassing that of his peers, traveling with general Fifth Realm Cultivators would only hold him back since they couldn’t provide much help.

Second, it was his first ti entering the external battlefield through Yun Pass, but in his previous life, he had fought and struggled for many years at Zhijing Pass in the Southern Territory. With his rich experience in external battlefields, it was hard for others to imagine, so he couldn’t be considered a “newcor” in the true sense.

At least until now, he had adapted very well.

Just as Lu Qingshan’s thoughts were rising, a cold wind suddenly swept past, followed by a chill that made his heart skip a beat.

The next mont, Lu Qingshan’s hair stood on end.

The chill certainly didn’t co from the cold wind.

Even though Sword Cultivators do not cultivate their physical bodies, with his Void Refining cultivation, he had long transcended the physical realm, no longer affected by heat or cold. How could he feel chilled by a re gust of wind?

The chill ca from the faint killing intent mixed within the cold breeze.

When it ca to the control of killing intent, as a Sword Cultivator who grasped the Primordial Intent of slaughter, he was a true expert in this area.

Otherwise, if it had been soone else, they might not have been able to discern the faint killing intent blended with the cold wind.

Subconsciously, Lu Qingshan released his vast Divine Sense swiftly, scanning his environnt to find the source of the killing intent.

What was strange was that after a careful examination, he found nothing.

“Could it be a top-tier Demon General or a Seventh Grade demon?” A frightening thought flashed through Lu Qingshan’s mind.

With his Primordial Spirit Realm having reached the level of a Sixth Realm Cultivator, who could evade detection by his Divine Sense if not an extraordinary being?

“No, if it were a top-tier Demon General or a Seventh Grade demon, how could they fail to control their own killing intent, allowing to perceive it beforehand?” Lu Qingshan quickly dismissed his own speculation.
