Chapter 787: Chapter 56 ‘Wilderness

Shi Wu Demon Venerable, this was a na that echoed throughout the Burning Moon Domain, once dominating all the King Realms.

He was one of the strongest Demon Lords from the Jian Luo Lineage, and even when including the entire Burning Moon Domain, he ranked among the top ten.

Jian Luo Royal City.

Ying Family Mansion.

Shi Wu Demon Venerable stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his gaze intent upon a hanging scroll on the wall, lost in thought.

Upon the scroll was a world of void, and at its center, a mass of twisting flesh.

Shi Wu Demon Venerable watched with utmost concentration.

He looked resolute and dignified, and there was nothing of the fearso appearance of the Demon Race about him.

This was because the higher the Cultivation of the War Demon Clan, the closer their appearance beca to the Human Race.

Having reached the Ninth Grade Realm, they barely differed from the Human Race at all.

This was not just the case for them; most of the Demon Race within the Abyss were similar.

At Low Grade, you would find all manners of gods, demons, and monsters, their forms bizarre and ghostly.

But once they reached a higher realm, they would start to take on a sowhat human form.

Even the Demon Clan was like this; once their Cultivation was high, they would transform into human form.

It seed as if the human form was sohow in accordance with so law or principle of the Heavenly Dao.

Finally, Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s eyes showed a slight change.

Behind him, unknown when, there appeared a middle-aged man dressed in strikingly red armor, appearing to be only in his thirties.

His appearance was silent and imperceptible.

He had been standing there for quite so ti, not daring to disturb Shi Wu Demon Venerable.

The middle-aged man was Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s eldest son, nad Ying Lie.

Without turning around, Shi Wu Demon Venerable spoke indifferently, “What do you want?”

“I heard Father has found a son-in-law for Mingyue?” Ying Lie inquired respectfully upon hearing Shi Wu Demon Venerable.

Shi Wu Demon Venerable turned around, his expression mostly unchanged but bearing an imposing aura that deeply pressured Ying Lie.

“The news travels fast.” Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s tone was untroubled, nonchalant.

As Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s eldest son, Ying Lie had nearly reached the Ninth Grade Realm, but still, he felt an instinctive reverence towards Shi Wu Demon Venerable and did not dare to be presumptuous.

He bowed his head slightly, hiding his facial expression in the shadows, and slowly said, “Father intends to make the Blood Divine Sand Vein Mingyue’s dowry?”

“What about it,” Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s gaze pierced like a hawk, as he uttered his question with extre indifference, “is there a problem?”

“It’s not that there’s a problem, it’s just that…” Overwheld by Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s presence, Ying Lie bowed his head even lower.

But after hesitating for a mont, he still said through gritted teeth, “The Blood Divine Sand Vein is the only one we in the Ying Family have. Is it really necessary to give away sothing so precious as a dowry to others?”

“I understand that Father cherishes Mingyue, but with her status, even without a dowry, many in the Royal City would wish to marry her.”

“Besides, if we need to prepare a dowry for Mingyue, why must we give away our one and only Blood Divine Sand Vein?

Once a daughter is married off, she’s like water splashed out. I think the Purple Gold Vein is already prestigious enough, although not as valuable as the Blood Divine Sand Vein, it is still exceedingly precious.”

“Are you teaching how to conduct affairs?” Shi Wu Demon Venerable snapped irritably, waving his hand away, “I make decisions, not you.”

He spoke coldly, “I’m not dead yet.”

Ying Lie’s face changed drastically, and he hurriedly responded in trepidation, “Father, I didn’t an it like that…”

“Don’t I understand your little sches?” Shi Wu Demon Venerable said coldly, “It doesn’t matter what you think, once I have made my decision, I won’t change it easily.

If you ddle in this affair again, or make trouble for Mingyue, don’t bla for being rciless later on.”

Having said that, Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s brows furrowed and his whole body emitted an extrely terrifying aura.

He knew these people bore Mingyue no good will, which is why he had spared no expense, exchanging the Blood Divine Sand Vein for a worry-free life for Ying Mingyue.

Ying Mingyue was his reverse scale.

Now, Ying Lie might have touched his bottom line and was t with his severe coldness.

“Father, calm your anger… Rest assured, Father, I have no intention to go against you, and Mingyue is my sister. How could I possibly cause her any trouble?” Ying Lie explained nervously.

“Is that so?” Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s eyes turned colder, “What do you an by ‘is my sister’? She is indeed your sister!”

An invisible might radiated out from Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s body, pressing down on Ying Lie, making it difficult for him to breathe, even to the point where he knelt down because of the overwhelming pressure.

Ying Lie said in pain, “Father, I misspoke… I assure you, I will keep an eye on the others and protect Mingyue…”

The next mont, Ying Lie felt the mountainous pressure on him suddenly release.

“It had better be so,” Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s anger still palpable, turned around and dismissed him without another glance, “Leave.”

“Yes.” Ying Lie struggled to his feet, respectfully bowed, and then carefully withdrew.

Only after moving far away from the Demon Lord’s Mansion, and making certain he was no longer within Shi Wu Demon Venerable’s perceptive range, did Ying Lie stop.

He looked up at the Demon Lord’s Mansion; the respectful look previously on his face was long gone, replaced by malice, ferocity, rage, and resentnt.

“You old fool, so domineering even at death’s door,” Ying Lie spoke rebellious words, his eyes full of madness, “It’s a good thing the Heavenly Dao is just, curtailing your life…”
