"No wonder all our citizens were released."
Bai Ye pondered the situation, finding it somewhat plausible, yet shook his head:
"However, this flesh and blood must be quite valuable in your eyes, right? I’ve never heard of a raider group that would massacre without reason."
Ya Ro pursed his lips, his gaze flickering.
"I was in a bad mood at the time," Atom shouted, "Are you done with the questions? If not, let’s just fight."
Duke Bai Ye shook his head, "I’m done asking, but I have one more request. If you agree, I can give you an additional twenty-five percent."
Atom, who had been somewhat impatient, suddenly showed a look of surprise and suspicion upon hearing the latter part of Bai Ye’s statement, "What request? Let me hear it first."
Bai Ye said leisurely, "This guy named Ya Ro, he must have had someone with him—Li Ming. He offended me before. If you catch Ya Ro and find him, hand him over to me."
Upon hearing this, Ya Ro cursed in his heart; this bastard still hadn’t forgotten about Li Ming.
At the same time, he worriedly glanced towards the spaceship, realizing he was in real trouble now, regretting his lack of firmness when it came to Li Ming.
"Teacher, I’ve let you down..."
Ya Ro sighed inwardly; after all, he had his own plans.
He had previously accepted a secret mission that involved a person with a hidden identity aboard that transport spaceship. He was to rescue the individual without revealing their identity.
But with the situation being urgent, he had to release everyone as a diversion.
Yet the person was never rescued; Atom had already discovered and detained them separately.
This time, he had e to plete the previously unfinished mission, hence when Li Ming said a few words, he half-heartedly agreed.
Afterward, things went pletely beyond his control.
"This matter..." Atom’s eyes flickered, planning to return and investigate the name Li Ming. There was definitely something amiss, but it wouldn’t hurt to agree for now.
"No problem."
"Your Grace..." Neil wanted to warn, but Duke Bai Ye interrupted with a raised hand, "Pleasure doing business."
Of course, he knew that cooperating with Atom was like throwing meat buns to a dog.
Nevertheless, Atom seemed to have taken the name Li Ming to heart. If he indeed encountered him, he wouldn’t let him escape easily.
"Neil, you go," Duke Bai Ye continued, "Atom, pick someone from your side to acpany him to that spaceship for an inspection."
"Alright." Atom nodded and immediately appointed a raider, "Telo, you go."
Under the watchful eyes of both parties, the two proceeded towards the spaceship, step by step.
Ya Ro was frantic with anxiety, even contemplating breaking out to draw their fire, but he restrained himself.
With two B-level Life Forms here, his effort to flee would be for naught.
Neil and Telo had reached the spaceship. Glancing at each other with mutual dislike, they entered one after the other.
Moments later, the two returned with grave expressions, shouting loudly, "Your Grace (Boss), there’s nothing inside."
"What!"
Duke Bai Ye’s face changed slightly, Atom’s serpentine pupils flickered, and both sides grew restless with exchanged glances.
Ya Ro’s heart missed a beat, also incredulous; how could there be nothing in there when the cargo had clearly been inside?
Li Ming... was Li Ming also not found?
Ya Ro was full of confusion.
"How could it be an empty shell!" Atom muttered, lifting his head fiercely, "Bai Ye, did you take them away!?"
"Us?" Bai Ye frowned, "Are you sure that the cargo was still on this ship?"
"Definitely!" Atom replied with utmost certainty.
"Boss, it’s definitely them who took it. We’re too late; they’ve outsmarted us!" A nearby raider couldn’t hold back any longer, voicing frustrations over the matter that had been stalled for a month or two, leaving them unable to afford even a drink upon return.
"Shut up!" Atom’s face soured, his forked tongue flickering at a speed invisible to the naked eye, "There’s no scent of others. How could there be none."
Duke Bai Ye’s gaze flickered slightly, shaking his head, "If the cargo isn’t here, let’s not waste any more time."
"Wait!" Atom called out, "Your Grace, if you know something, perhaps you should share it!"
"Sorry, I know nothing," Bai Ye shook his head.
"Bullshit!" Atom snarled, "If you didn’t know anything, why would you gather everyone here? How did you know the spaceship was here?"
"Boss, the cargo must’ve been taken by them. We’re just late to the scene; they’ve played us!"
"Boss, we can’t let him leave!" The raiders were itching to move.
Bai Ye was speechless; how had he encountered such fools? If the cargo had been secured, he would have already left.
"Your Grace, let’s cooperate," Atom’s tone softened again, "Let’s find that cargo together. We’ll stick to the original division. How about that?"
"Forget it," Bai Ye shook his head, not wanting to waste more time.
Atom declared in a deep voice, "You can’t leave without explaining."
As he spoke, his clothes tore as scales the size of palms emerged on his skin. His entire being transformed into a Black Giant Python over ten meters long with terrifying serpent eyes.
"Kill!" The raiders shouted, gunfire already erupting; they were indeed a group of madmen.
A fight? Ya Ro wore an odd expression.
Bai Ye’s eyes grew cold as he produced a metal stick from his bosom. It extended rapidly at both ends, expanding into a mechanical spear over three meters long, pristine white, with the tip glistening like frost.
Boom!
An Ice Storm burst forth violently from it, howling incessantly, plementing Bai Ye’s abilities perfectly.
