Riley’s POV

I had been here for almost let’s call it two days now because ti seems not to count here.

Two full days of nothing but strange lessons, exhausting drills, and Dahlia constantly watching like she was waiting for sothing inside to explode again.

At first I thought she was exaggerating when she said I needed to learn to control, but now I understood why she insisted so much.

Every ti she made try to use that strange power she claid I had, sothing weird happened.

Sotis the air around would feel heavy and things would move slightly without touching them.

Other tis Dahlia would drop sothing and tell to stop it before it hit the ground, and sohow my body would react before my brain even understood what I was doing.

It was confusing.

Very confusing.

And honestly it was starting to get really exhausting.

Right now I was sitting on the grass behind a small house, breathing heavily after another round of whatever training she called it.

My shoulders ached.

My arms felt weak.

And my head was spinning.

"This is ridiculous," I muttered under my breath as I rubbed my temples.

Just months ago I was living my normal life.

I was the CEO of Grayson Enterprises in crescent Hollow.

My biggest problems were business deals, board etings, and people trying to steal company shares.

Now suddenly I was here learning about weird powers, witches, and things that honestly sounded like they belonged inside fantasy books.

I let out a long tired sigh.

"I just want my normal life back," I murmured quietly.

Dahlia had insisted that I stay here until she was satisfied I could control the strange ability inside .

But I was already tired of this place.

The training.

The strange conversations.

The way Dahlia kept looking at like I was sothing dangerous.

I still rembered the first ti that power had appeared.

Dahlia had been struggling on the ground like sothing invisible was holding her down.

I had panicked so badly because I did not understand what was happening.

And sohow when I shouted for it to stop, whatever had been holding her suddenly released her.

Ever since that mont, I had been convinced I was sothing more than human.

But every ti I asked her what exactly I was, she refused to answer.

"You will have to find out yourself," she always said.

Which was extrely annoying.

I dropped my head back against the tree behind .

"This is driving crazy," I said to myself.

Just then I heard footsteps approaching.

I looked up.

Dahlia was walking toward again.

Her expression looked serious as usual.

I groaned softly."Please tell that is not another training session," I said tiredly.

She stopped in front of and stared down at for a mont.

Then suddenly she reached down and grabbed my arm.

"Get up," she said.

I frowned."I just finished the last one."

"Get up," she repeated firmly.

I sighed but allowed her to pull up from the ground.

My legs still felt a little weak."Alright," I muttered.

"What are we doing this ti?"

I expected her to say sothing about practicing control again.

But instead she surprised ."You need to return to Obsidian Veil."

I blinked."What?"

Her face looked serious."Sothing is not right there."

My brows pulled together imdiately."What do you an sothing is not right?"

She shook her head slightly."You will see when you get there."

I crossed my arms."You could just tell ."

But Dahlia did not respond.

Instead she turned and began walking away toward the path leading down the hill.

I stood there for a mont watching her."Seriously?" I called after her.

"You are just going to drop sothing like that and walk away?"

She stopped briefly but did not turn around."Co," she said calmly.

"If you want answers you should start walking."

I sighed loudly.

Sotis Dahlia was unbelievably frustrating.

But sothing in her voice told she was serious.

So I quickly looked down at myself to check my things.

My hand moved toward the small bag hanging across my shoulder.

Inside it was the reason I ca here in the first place.

The Lunar Fur.

I opened the bag slightly and checked inside.

The silvery fur was still there.

Relief washed through imdiately.

Good.

Because if I lost that thing after everything I had gone through to get it, the brothers of Obsidian Veil would probably lose their minds.

I closed the bag and adjusted the strap over my shoulder.

Then I began walking after Dahlia.

She was already several steps ahead of on the path leading away from the house.

The clearing around us was quiet.

Only the sound of our footsteps filled the air. For a while neither of us spoke.

Then suddenly Dahlia started talking.

Her voice sounded calm but serious."The path ahead of you will not be easy."

I frowned slightly as I walked beside her."What does that an?"

She continued walking without looking at ."You will face many things that you do not understand."

I rolled my eyes slightly."That part already started."

But she ignored my comnt."There will be monts where you will have to make decisions that others will not understand."

Her voice sounded heavier now."And those decisions will not always be easy."

I glanced at her."Alright," I said slowly."You are starting to sound like a fortune teller."

Dahlia finally looked at briefly.

Her eyes looked sharp."I am telling you the truth."

Then she looked forward again."There will be tis where you will question yourself."

I felt slightly uncomfortable hearing her speak like this.

"Tis where you will wonder if you are becoming the very thing you fear."

My brows pulled together."What kind of thing?"

She ignored that question too."There will be monts where you will make choices that will hurt you deeply."

Her voice sounded firm."Choices that will feel brutal."

My stomach tightened slightly yet she continued.

"And sotis those choices will cost you sothing very important."

I did not say anything for a mont.

Because the way she was speaking made everything sound dark and serious.

Then she spoke again."But you must rember sothing."

I looked at her."What is?"

"Even when those decisions feel terrible... they will still be the right ones."

Her words stayed in the air between us.

For a few seconds I did not know what to say.

Then I shook my head slightly."You are really not making feel better about whatever future you are talking about."

Dahlia stopped walking suddenly. I almost bumped into her.

She slowly turned to face . Her expression looked calm but intense.

"There will also co a mont where you will face a very dangerous dilemma."

My heart beat slightly faster."What kind of dilemma?"

She stared directly into my eyes.

The seriousness in her gaze made my chest feel tight.

"A mont where you will have to choose between your heart loyalty and survival."

I frowned."I do not understand."

She stepped closer to .

Then she said the words that made my entire body freeze.

"There will co a ti when you may have to eliminate the Triarch Alphas of Obsidian Veil."

My breath caught in my throat."What the fuck?"

Her voice did not change.

"You may be forced to destroy the very n who claim you as theirs."

My heart started beating harder."That is insane," I said quickly.

"There is no way sothing like that would ever happen."

Dahlia simply watched quietly.

But the calm look in her eyes made sothing inside my stomach twist with unease.

Because for the first ti since eting her...

I had the horrible feeling that she was not guessing.

She was freaking warning .

"Go back" she said and just imdiately, she stepped behind and pushed hard~
