Riley’s POV

Okay.

So.

I opened my eyes.

And the first thing I did was blink. Then blink again. Then I squinted a little just to make sure my eyes were not playing gas with .

"Alright... cool," I muttered under my breath. "I’m not dead atleast"

I pushed myself up slowly and looked down at myself, brushing my clothes like there was dirt on them even though there wasn’t anything there.

"Yeah, sure, Riley," I said quietly. "Totally normal. You passed out and woke up in... wherever this is."

I turned around slowly, trying to take everything in.

"This is not obsidian place," I added.

Because it definitely was not.

In front of was this huge place that looked like sothing out of a royal setting. A massive citadel stood tall, way taller than anything I had ever seen before. It stretched up so high that it almost looked like it was touching the sky. The walls were wide and clean, with large doors and long windows that reflected light in a way that made everything look too perfect.

I frowned.

"Okay... so either I’m dreaming," I said, counting on my fingers, "or I’m dead, which I already confird I’m not, or I’ve completely lost my mind."

I paused.

"Yeah... the third option is looking very strong right now."

I started walking forward slowly, looking around like I expected soone to jump out and explain everything to .

"Hello?" I called out.

Nothing.

Then I saw movent.

A few children ran past , laughing and playing like everything here was normal. They were dressed in what looked like royal clothes, neat and detailed, like they belonged in this place.

"Okay, good," I said quickly. "People. Children. That ans I’m not alone."

I stepped forward and waved.

"Hey! Hi! Excuse —"

Nothing.

They didn’t react.

Not even a little.

I stopped.

"Rude," I said.

I moved closer and tried again.

"Hello? Can you see ?"

Still nothing.

One of them ran right past , so close that I flinched a little, expecting to feel sothing.

I didn’t.

I slowly turned my head.

"...okay," I said slowly. "That’s not good."

I lifted my hand and waved it in front of another kid’s face.

No reaction.

I leaned in closer.

Still nothing.

I stepped back quickly.

"Okay, I’m invisible," I said. "That’s great. That’s just amazing. Why not? Why not add that to everything else happening today?"

I rubbed my face with both hands.

"This is fine. Everything is fine."

I started pacing a little.

"Cane is dying, Alia is probably yelling at soone, and I’m here talking to invisible children in a palace that I definitely did not sign up for."

I stopped.

"Perfect."

Then sothing caught my eye.

I turned my head slowly.

And froze.

"Wait..."

I narrowed my eyes slightly.

"No... no, no, no."

I took a step closer.

Standing not too far from was a little girl.

She looked... familiar. Too familiar.

I stared harder.

"...that’s ."

I blinked again.

"Yeah. That’s definitely ."

A younger version of , maybe five years old, was running around happily like she had no problems in the world.

I turned in a slow circle.

"Okay, now I know I’ve lost it," I said. "I am officially gone."

I walked closer to her, studying her face.

"That’s my face," I said quietly. "That’s actually my face."

She laughed as she ran, and I followed her, completely confused.

"What is going on?" I muttered.

Then I noticed she wasn’t alone.

There was another girl with her.

I frowned.

The girl looked older, maybe a few years older than the younger . She was pretty, with a calm but playful look on her face as she ran beside her.

"Who is that?" I asked.

I moved closer again, trying to see her clearly.

The younger grabbed the girl’s hand.

"Carian!" she called out happily.

I froze again.

"...what?"

I stared at the girl.

"No way."

I moved even closer, my eyes locked on her.

"That’s... that’s my so called sister?"

My chest tightened slightly.

Carian.

I had not seen her like this before. Not like soone who was just... normal.

They were laughing together, running around like nothing in the world could touch them.

I watched them quietly.

"This is... weird," I said softly. "This is really weird."

I crossed my arms, still staring.

"So I’m invisible, I’m in so royal place, and now I’m watching my five-year-old self run around with my supposed sister."

I shook my head.

"Yeah. Makes total sense."

I followed them as they ran through the open space, my eyes not leaving them for a second.

"This feels too real," I added quietly.

They slowed down a bit, still talking and laughing, and I moved closer again, trying to hear them better.

"This is creepy," I muttered. "I’m basically spying on my own childhood."

I stayed close, watching everything carefully.

Then suddenly—

Everything changed. It happened fast.

One second everything was calm, and the next, it wasn’t.

The air felt different. The laughter stopped.

I frowned."What just happened?"

The younger looked scared.

Carian grabbed her hand quickly.

"Run!" she said.

My eyes widened."What?"

They started running fast.

Not playing anymore.

Running like sothing was chasing them.

"What is going on?" I said, following them quickly.

I looked behind them, trying to see what they were running from.

I saw nothing.

"Okay, that’s even worse," I said. "I don’t even see the danger."

Carian was pulling my younger self along, her face serious now.

"Don’t stop!" she said.

"I’m trying!" the younger cried.

I felt my chest tighten again.

This didn’t feel like a random mory anymore.

This felt important.

"Where are you going?" I asked, even though I knew they couldn’t hear .

They kept running.

Faster.

Carian looked back once, her expression tense, like she knew sothing was close.

"What is chasing you?" I asked loudly.

No answer.

Of course.

They turned a corner, and I followed imdiately.

"Wait for —okay, not like you can hear that."

They were breathing harder now.

The younger looked like she was about to cry.

"I’m scared!" she said.

"I know," Carian replied quickly. "Just keep moving!"

I felt sothing was wrong.

Very wrong.

They ran a little further—

And suddenly—

Soone grabbed them.

I gasped.

"What the hell?!"

A figure pulled both of them quickly and dragged them into a hidden space, covering them imdiately.

I rushed forward, trying to see clearly. I couldn’t see the face properly.

"Who is that?"
