The little girl suddenly turned back and saw two drenched figures appear at the other end of the balcony.

Yan Zhihai also beca alert instantly and shouted sternly:

"Who are you? How did you get in here! This is a private residence!"

His obese body tried to rise but almost fell over.

The man on the other side said:

"I’ll give you a demonstration first, whether or not to act is up to you. You might be very resistant since you’ve never done this before."

"Once you do it, you cross an irreversible line."

"But I still suggest you try it. Even if we can’t reconcile with our past selves, we can still avenge them."

Yan Zhihai’s questioning was ignored by the man, who wore gloves nad "Forgot the Keys" by an old madman.

Not long ago, the double security doors of this villa were smashed open by these gloves.

Just as the thunder roared, shaking his eardrums, Yan Zhihai admired the little girl’s terrified deanor.

The visitors were indeed the butcher and avenger of the rainy night—

Wen Xishu and Tang Rui.

Yan Zhihai was suddenly frightened. Under so eerie power, he seed to sense the malice from the visitors.

That malice was spreading continuously.

The light inside the balcony illuminated Tang Rui’s profile, which he found inexplicably familiar. But he just couldn’t rember where he had seen it before.

The tattoos on her body and her red and green hair reminded him of sothing he had heard about in the past.

And the man approaching him step by step made him feel suffocated.

"Are you here to rob? What are you going to do? I’m a teacher! I’m a good person! I have money!"

Thump.

The dull thud along with the crack of bones imdiately silenced the obese Professor Yan.

"So noisy," Wen Xishu said softly.

Blood had already stained his gloves, yet the rain instantly washed it clean. This punch landed directly on Yan Zhihai’s skull, making him kneel from the intense shock.

But he didn’t fall, as Wen Xishu held him up.

"If you ever kill soone, I don’t recomnd using gloves because they are too blunt."

Before finishing his words, he withdrew the hand holding Yan Zhihai up, and as Yan’s obese body tilted and fell, another heavy punch landed restoring balance.

Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump—Wen Xishu delivered several punches in succession, as if hitting a sandbag, fiercely landing on Yan Zhihai’s chest, forehead, and nose.

His blood vessels started to burst, turning his eyes blood-red. Amidst the intense pain, sothing seed to click in his mind.

But he couldn’t make a sound, his throat and mouth were full of blood.

Tang Rui watched as Wen Xishu kept punching, each aiming for a fatal blow, and her heart struggled montarily.

If she retreated now... perhaps it would not be too late, she could return to that familiar world.

But the thought vanished quickly, as she heard the child’s cry not far away...

All those past mories ca flooding back in an instant.

Under the influence of the bizarre Sequence 98·Overwhelming Emotions, those fears and hatreds etched into her soul seed to materialize.

At that mont, affected by the sequence’s power, Yan Zhihai finally recalled completely:

"It’s you... how could it be you!"

Cold, fear, humiliation, resentnt, these emotions penetrated Yan Zhihai’s spirit.

It was as if he saw a tentacled monster tearing apart a girl’s body.

The monster made a disgusting oily sound, a sound he recognized all too well—it was his own.

This was his image in the girl’s heart many years ago.

He also saw that the once sweet and lovely girl was now covered in tattoos, appearing like a delinquent frequenting nightclubs.

Tang Rui’s body was trembling slightly. She stepped forward a few steps and covered the little girl’s eyes with her hands, preventing her from seeing the scene of bones shattering and flesh being crushed.

"You have to learn to love yourself, to protect yourself. Don’t expect people you shouldn’t expect, and don’t trust that soone will co to save you. You must beco strong, understand?"

The little girl was a bit bewildered. She should have been scared but inexplicably felt so peace.

"Good girl, now leave here and hide downstairs."

The sequence’s power gave the little girl a montary peace, and she obediently ran off.

Wen Xishu suddenly stopped because, under the influence of the eerie Sequence·Overwhelming Emotions, he felt sothing else.

Intent to kill.

It was the intent to thoroughly penetrate and grind a person’s flesh and bones.

"Can you do a favor?"

"I am at your command today."

"Thank you, can you drag him to the study for ?"

"As you wish."

Wen Xishu, like a diligent butler, wiped the blood off his face and showed a gentlemanly smile.

He easily dragged the hundreds of pounds of obese body to the study.

The barely conscious Yan Zhihai finally had a mont to breathe. He wanted to beg for rcy, but the sudden rush of cold made his mind go blank.

When Tang Rui appeared in the study of the villa, she held a kitchen knife and a pen.

Her footsteps were gentle, and she humd a song from a music box filled with youthful vitality.

But even when humming, her hoarse voice was discernible.

Tang Rui ca to Wen Xishu’s side in front of Yan Zhihai.

Wen Xishu understood and stepped back:
